GOP Senator Asks Whether White House Aides Were Involved in Colombia Prostitution Scandal

 

WASHINGTON (NewsCore) — Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has asked the Secret Service whether members of the White House advance team were connected to the Colombian prostitution scandal, considering their “close working relationship” with federal agents.

Grassley sent the letter Friday to agency director Mark Sullivan and acting inspector general Charles Edwards. He also asked in the letter if the Secret Service was looking at whether the White House communications office also could be involved.

The scandal involving at least one Secret Service agent allegedly bringing a prostitute to his hotel room in Cartagena, Columbia, was made public April 13 before the Summit of the Americas began.

Grassley is concerned about whether White House officials were in the same hotel and if the prostitutes could have had access to their rooms. The agents were there in advance of President Barack Obama participating in the summit.

Twelve Secret Service agents and 11 military members have been implicated in the incident.

News of the incident, which involves as many as 20 Colombian women, broke after a fight over payment between a prostitute and a Secret Service agent spilled into the hotel hallway.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Friday the administration has no reason to think staffers were involved and implied he would not be looking into the matter.

“From the moment that this was made public and an investigation was launched, we have been in regular touch with the Secret Service and obviously with the Pentagon about this incident,” he said. “I’m sure the discussion and the briefing covers a variety of subjects, a variety of both facts and rumors. What I’m not going to do … is give a play-by-play or speculate about every rumor that you may have heard.”

Carney also said he had “no reason to believe” an internal White House investigation would be needed.

    In a time where Obama is truly showing his true communist colors by grabbing as much power as he can,either by executive order,czars,or regulation,going against the United States Constitution at every turn,and weakening our country at every convenience,it is only a matter of time before he becomes concerned about those that have been chosen to protect him. Study any marxist,facist,or communist regime of your choice and you will see that they have had some sort of ELITE GUARD that would ensure that their dictator stays in power. I think that this is the case here as Obama certainly wouldn’t want someone who is sworn to defend and protect the US Constitution against ALL enemies,foreign and domestic,to exercise their oath and double tap him to the back of the head while he amasses more un-Constitutional power. I would really like to see who replaces these secret service agents who were fired. Will their loyalties lie with the United States Constitution or with Barack Hussein Obama? Only time will tell.     As the latest scandal ensues,ensnaring not only secret service operatives on Obama’s advance team,but military personel as well,I wonder why no one on the White house advance team has been implicated? The secret service has,since it’s inception,been charged with protecting the United States President at ALL costs. Even if it meant placing their own lives on the line.The secret service as well as the United States armed forces have always operated with the utmost integrity. Therefore,my perspective is this.

    Did our secret service agents and military members seek out the prostitutes in Columbia,or,was it the other way around? Usually,any individual that would pose a danger to a person in power,such as Obama,in a communist society would either be killed or brought down by massive scandal usually involving a sexual nature. As the United States is to advanced as a culture to do any killing,I do beleive that the latter applies.

      As a “Old” person today let me again remind people…Way back when a “journalist” .Would have question Jay Carney with the Who, what were when and why…Good grief today there has yet even been a timeline of the events framed. Remember Hilliary while there also took the girls out for a beer night…I am sure one aspect of the “pre trip” would have been checking out the night spot Hillary and the commie chicks were going to..Again as John Q public we don’t yet know if this happened the first night they were there or the second week. Because journalist today were never taught to find answers to the story.

      All the terminated and and present secret service agents should have their bank accounts scrutinized, watch out for bribery to keep Obama staffers names out of the investigation. There is a far greater likelihood that at least some of them are in it up to their eyebrows. Next, I want an investigation of the cover up.

    If former Presidents had cared about America and the American people, then they probably would have previously cleaned up the Secret Service prior to a President who is a divider. Moreover, I guess many of the previous Presidents have been operating in the capacity of a divider.

      I was kind of thinking, if Thomas Jefferson and other Founders had given over there slaves to freedom 240 years ago, then wouldn‘t it be the same as today comparable to closing down one’s business, but hoping business owners will listen to your advice on running a business? Or wouldn’t it be the same as taking advice on writing songs for a current audience from a song-writer who gave up following the trends of songs? Or wouldn‘t it be the same as a builder who doesn’t know the current building codes or tools available? Or wouldn’t it be the same as a Community Organizer getting advice from a Community Organizer who decided to give it up to be a business owner?     Besides the moral aspects of hiring prostitutes, the problem is that the SS of the greatest Country in the World has exposed signs of lack of professionality and seriousness as well as signals of poor discipline when it comes to self-control. It looks like some are not loyal enough to fulfill their duty and great honor of protecting the President. This scandal is just a symptom of a sick body and the question is not if WH members knew about it or not, as all are corrupt. Corruption doesn’t have any limits and corrupted people are always linked to each other because this is a way of life and a way to survive. Maybe the SS and other members of the Armed Forces are beeing corrupted to be exposed to extortion at a later point when the regime will have to force them to shut their mouths. Too bad for the regime that a few women without “special training“ won „the war on men“.

      I f I were a SS agent, I might say to HE!! with laying my life down to protect this Liar-in-Chief who disrespects us whenever he can. That’s simply no honor. Then, as it appears obvious, they are also expected to put their lives on the line for a woman who, as FLOTUS, dmeaned them at every turn as did her husband. With that kind of leadership, if they have to protect any of Obama’s staff, they are probably treated the same as Obama does by those underlings. What’s the use of maintaining an honorable integrity where his life is on the line and yet, he gets no acknowledgment. With the staffers as dishonorable axs their boss, I’m sure they set this whole fiasco up since it took place before Obama was even in Columbia, only the bleached blond with the broad backside, siggling around on a dance floor. How disgusting would that assignment be to any of us?

    What a fine sense of humor and great comedic timing our president has! (weak lol)

    And I wonder just how much “preparation” the president has been involved in, PERSONALLY! If he is a HARD PARTYING kind of guy on the road, it certainly would explain how the Secret Service suddenly got the “party hardy” habit going after 200+ years of spotless reputation and conduct in previous administrations.

    This makes me sick to my stomach. I knew that Obama was going to be incompetent (having never so much as worked a real job at Taco Bell) but who would have predicted the INCREDIBLE disaster that this guy has become?

      Frankly, it was easy to predict. Obama was an lawyer for ACORN and a community organizer. That was his complete resume’ before he became elected Senator from IL. As Senator he had the most Liberal voting record of all Senators, and he voted “present” rather than show courage by voting “yes” or “no” over half the time. His Paster for 20 yrs turned out to be a hate monger, Rev Jeramiah Wright. The mentor he named in his autobiography was a well know communist in Hawaii.       @HumbleMan … You bring up an interesting point about housing prices continuing to drop. It leads me to believe the housing bubble is still part the grand scheme to get the country on a ‘level’ playing field. That was Bawny Fwank’s plan all along.

      It‘s just another way of taking from the ’rich‘ to give to the ’poor’. They don’t care how much hard earned money if lost from a crashing housing market, as long as the prices keep dropping so the poor can afford to buy them.

      I’d love to see every American own a house, but not because the gov’t manipulates the market to punish the responsible in order to reward the irresponsible.

    Alcohol, under-age hookers, rumors of cocaine, arguing in the lobby with the prostitutes and endangering the president by bringing foreign nationals into a secure zone within hours of the president’s arrival. From what I understand the president’s travel schedule randomly changes to remain unpredictable, so the SS couldn’t have known exactly when he would arrive. The SS didn’t ask the hookers to leave or attempt to hide their actions. This makes me believe that there was no reason to hide them because it was SOP and it was common knowledge among the white house personel.

      @Bill- That’s exactly what I was trying to say, if they are bold enough to not even try to hide it then everyone up to the president knew about and was ok with it. You aren’t going to be ok with employees acting like this unless it is for the benefit of higher ups. It becomes very hard to believe that something like this could happen unless the president is involved.
      This story just happened to break ‘within hours’ of the president’s arrival. The SS were there for weeks prior to prepare for his arrival yet they throw the huge drunken prostitution orgy the night before his arrival? And at 6:30 AM it’s the hotel staff that asks these women to leave not the SS, from the story the SS didn’t sound happy they were leaving.
      The only reason we have to believe Obama hadn’t arrived is the white house said so. I’m not saying he was there but its something that should be looked into. The early reports said the journalists that toured the room say what they believed to be cocaine, these reports were denied by investigators.
      That and the quote from the ****** lead me to believe someone else with power was there that is being covered for.
      She said, “I’m scared,” indicating she did not want the man she spent the night with to get into any trouble but now feared that he might retaliate against her.
      “This is something really big,” she said. “This is the government of the United States. I have nervous attacks. I cry all the time.”

    I don’t know why everyone is so worked up over some Secret Service guys hiring prostitutes. Say a lot of things about prostitution, but there’s definitely far WORSE things human beings do on a daily basis. And really, how does their hiring of prostitutes constitute a failure of their duty? Their duty is to protect the President–is the President unharmed? Yes? Well then why are you bitching? For people who rushed to the defense of Marines ******* on corpses (a stupid PR mistake, but hardly wrongdoing IMO–they’re dead, they can’t be injured, and in all LIKELIHOOD they were just previously LIVE bodies shooting at the Marines, so yeah, go ahead and piss on em, just don’t TAKE A PICTURE OF IT TO SHOW THE FOLKS BACK HOME!), you’d think you would all be more than willing to look the other way for some personal conduct not really relevant to their job, and HARDLY the worst thing they could have been caught doing (in fact, other than being simple infidelity or drug use, it’s hard to imagine a LESS offensive thing they could have done that would still have possibly made news).       They were on the job in a foreign country representing the United States. Such behavior is reprehensible and I wish for them public shame, I hope all their names come out. Being allowed to resign is way too easy. They put security at risk because any of those women could have access to sensitive information and could have been foreign operatives. Morals and honor in this country are in the toilet.

    Even though the guys were prone to this kind of behavior, I wouldn’t put it past the commie in chief to have set up these guys. How better to put marshal law in place than to discredit our law enforcement and military. Three prosecutors on the sheriff Joe case are being disbarred, from old offenses, kind of like Ted Nugent’s bear hunting trip in Alaska.     I expect that Sen. Chuck Grassley will get as far with the WH and the SS as he did with Holder and the DOJ with Fast and Furious. Good luck Sen. Grassley…. you’re a lame wimp with no balls. But, you do have a wonderful health insurance program and a lifetime of retirement money coming to you. So what do really care about all of this? Not a damn thing…

      We‘ll all have it on record in case we find out Obama’s administration lied, which wouldn’t be the first time anyhow.

    I am pretty sure this kind of “stuff” went on in other administrations…but doesn’t it seem that the obama administration is either too stupid to keep it under wraps or just oblivious to what us Americans think about them…I’m thinking both.

      Yep, and this administration for some reason, maybe their lack of concern for our country chooses for other countries to look upon the USA as a corrupt and uncaring nation with a lackluster military…not very good for our safety I would think. The WH seems to love reporting any so-called scandal of the miltary around the world as soon as it comes out. The president jumps up to the front to apologize before anything is investigated and Hillary makes sure she presents American remorse to the UN before we have any details. Obama even sends restribution money to people before a trial as in the Afghanistan murders committed alledgedly by Sgt. Bales.
      It is a little strange that Obama and the WH is trying to jump in defense of their involvment in this prostitute scandal and trying to quickly solve it by sudden firings, but all other scandals like Solyndra and Fast and Furious are being dragged on and on. Obama also seems to be unconcerned with his security, so I am sure he knew more than he is letting on.

    Since when did Jay Carney decide what investigations will take place in the White House.

    {In addition, the Pentagon says the incident also involved 11 military members — six Army, two Navy explosive ordinance disposal technicians, two Marine dog handlers and an Air Force airman.}..What did the two Marine dog handlers do with the dogs…need to find out if they were cooked for Obama…lol.

    I love Senator Grassly bc he tries his best to be thorough and knows evry scandal since 2008 has Obama’s name written all over it. I still can‘t figure out why Obama said he wasn’t angry, but I can speculate.

    Watch the Sunday shows .. they will either be on full Obama scandal control (someone elses fault) OR they will ignore it completely … that will tell you how the White House is going to play this .. do not forget the MSM gets told by the White House what to report or NOT report.
