How did we get a point where getting into office gives a polititian the ability to steal the people’s wealth with no fear as to retaliation outside of simply being voted out?

What none of these politicians seem to realize is that at the time of the “770 Billion Emergency Bailout” their actions moved from perceived trust on our part to specimen under the microscope!!! And guess what, 99% of them DO NOT pass the smell test!! I don’t think ANY of them truly realize how betrayed we feel. This election is just the start. Before this is over, we may have to replace every attorney in DC with CPA’s–man, talk about a nightmare for those CAREER POLITICIANS!!!!

This is the problem with centralized power (state or federal). With money in the hands of a centralized power (governor, president, state or federal legislature) to distribute, it becomes a political game of where do my “distributions” of taxes do me an my party the most good.

We have the equivalent of a political pyramid scheme going on right now where the states are getting help from the feds, the towns are getting help from the states, and this funding is distributed based upon who is holding power at the highest level of the pyramid, and the money is then distributed based upon politics even more so than need or equity.

Cities and towns have to find ways to manage themselves more effectively. If the state governments to prop up failing municipalities, and the feds continue to prop up failing states, then there is little incentive for them to be fiscally responsible.

All the recipients of corzine influx of $$$ on the same day as Christie’s swearing in are now up for re-election either next month or near future. They want us to believe they are worthy of another term when it’s clear they have no regard for taxpayers of the state, their own constituents or New Jersey’s financial situation. If they cared about NJ they would have returned ill-gotten $$$ – instead they validated they reason for keeping $$. Once again they gave the residents of New Jersey and Gov. Christie the “jerseybird” Lets make sure we return the favor on 11.2.10. GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!!

Every honorable person currently working for people like Corzine should be ready to record what’s being done before elections change the political landscape. That way, it can be undone or at least revealed for what it is. Take notes, keep records, videotape if you legally can.

And where are the mayors in all this?

Gov Christie, how about we just call that an advance to those 3 cities? The next time you disperse funding throughout your state, withhold the $180M. Pretty simple and fair.

Her election will allow her to take the seat immediately.

We need our own Christie but too many DEMONcrats are infecting the little state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Going into 2011, the only completely fracked up sections of America will be the New York, all of Northeast and California.

I am in PA and jealous of NJ. Hopefully Tom Corbett will be our governor shortly and hopefully he has Christie’s kind of ca-hones. Our political animal Rendell has been saying he wants to jack up taxes right now because (he says) he knows Tom Corbett intends to lower them when he takes office. That sounds like both a concession speech and some graft promise.

You hit the nail right on the head Star. That’s why they left the question on continuing the tax cuts until after the elelction. Pelosi knew a sizable chunk of her caucus was going to jump ship and vote with the GOP to extend tax cuts for all. Once a bunch of these turds get flushed they won’t care what lunacy they rubber stamp as they swirl about the bowl on their way down.

This behavior is what we have come to expect from career politicians. They must be ousted. If Republicans do manage to get our government back we as citizens must begin to push for term limits and tighter controls on this out of control spending . All this makes me sick.

Term limits would not stop this but maybe increase it in frequency? We need to make every government employee, elected or not, get a compensation package equal to the constituency in their respective district, state or country. No more perks but they can pay Social Insecurity with all of us and for a health care program they can just use Medicaid/care while in office then back to your own life. Washington warned us of the professional coveted government jobs.

In addition to term limits, we should also limit the paychecks and benefits of the Washington elite. In addition, how many people do you know get full pay after retirement, even if it is 2 years!
They should not be allowed to NOT pay into social security and they should also be forced to have ALL laws that they pass, such as healthcare, be applied to them.

I’m sure it was for a good cause….cause liberals think they are entitled.

And 5, that’s not necessarily racism. Blacks vote nearly in that numbers for any Democrat presidential candidate. This too is entitlement mentality within those who imagine themselves to be victims. The truth is they are victims, victims of the liberal progressive machine that trapped them in this destructive belief.
