Government Sells Spoils of Madoff’s Lavish Life

NEW YORK (AP) — Anyone who literally wants to walk in Bernard Madoff’s shoes is in luck. Thousands of belongings from the fallen financier’s New York City penthouse are on the auction block Saturday, including hundreds of pairs of shoes.

Also up for grabs is a diamond engagement ring once worn by his wife, Ruth Madoff. It’s worth at least $300,000.

When Madoff was arrested two years ago, U.S. marshals seized everything from the couple’s daily life — including his used socks, monogrammed boxer shorts and velveteen slippers now for sale.

The proceeds will go to more than 3,000 clients Madoff swindled in a multi-billion dollar Ponzi scheme.

The 72-year-old former Wall Street trader is serving a 150-year sentence in a North Carolina prison.

To the first lawmaker that can arrest Soros, auction off his assets, and pull a madoff on his @ss…

I propose we support them for potus unconditionally. I’d even support a democrat if they could pull this off.

I still want to know who the FEDS gave/loaned 6.1 Trillion to before TARP came along, and why a German bank ended up with TARP money via GOLDMAN SACHS or AIG…..Madoff was a crook and we all know SEC and the Government knew. But OLE Bernie is chump change compared to what Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, Hank Paulson and TAX CHEAT Tiny Tim Geithner have done.

I have a different “take” than most…….FREE BERNIE NOW! After all, what is the guy really guilty of, showing us how those GREEDY clients of his played the game? To the last one, they each knew he was pulling down, what was it, two to three times a normal rate of return. You mean to tell me that it never occurred to any of those SLOTHS that he was A CROOK and that they were reaping UNHOLY rewards. Give me a break! THEY LIVED BY GREED and they got their JUST DESSERTS! Bernie did society a favor by exposing those PHONY VICTIMS. And give the man back his shoes too!

how fantastic we have the Blaze to vent on, when the democrtas have 1000s of other websites of their own to lavish praise on their clay-footed crumbling god onama and his master soros. while WE can peacefully vent here in our own homes after a hard day at work supporting America, the dems are running around screaming their children should learn how to have gay sex at age 6 and their women are bent over on every streetcorner with every illegal who looks twice at them.

Why does it seem like Wall Street is overflowing with fraudsters? White collar criminals need to be treated just like armed bank robbers and murderers, maybe that’ll stem the tide of opportunists that flock around our financial centers and steal peoples futures.

Because they are in cahoots with politicians who protect them and then get them jobs within the administration. It is a vicious cycle endorsed by crooked politicians and eager scumbags on Wall Street.

what about his wife’s belongings and kids. I still do not buy the whole “my wife and kids know nothing” from these people. His kids worked for him and wife was the compliance manager. I smelled a smelly rat when his son turned him in…i can see them sitting around the dinner table discussing how they can keep their plunder. I just wonder if madoff is going to be the new “your name is mudd.”

As for the SEC they should be investigated, but they never will b/c it goes against the “gov has all the answers and all we need is another bureacracy to watch the watchdogs” attitude we have in Washington.

Yeah, the government will sell everything that Madoff has, and the people that got screwed will never see a penny of the money. That’s the first mistake. The government is a bigger crook that Madoff ever was. They have been screwing the AMERICAN PEOPLE for Centuries and not one has gone to jail.

Understood that the victims of the madoff’s will not see anything at best. Anyone want to bet that if it had happened to a group of Progressive or Democratic supporters, Pelosi and Obama-san would have been screaming for a massive bailout of them, and a investigation for the criminal minded tea partiers involves in such ‘scandalous behaviours?”

As hilarious as it is to make a quick stop here each night and see that same small group of pitiful losers who have spent their entire day desperately seeking interaction and approval from anonymous strangers on The Blaze, I must admit that it has honestly become somewhat sad. I cannot comprehend how empty and miserable your non-cyber lives must be. That said, I’ll be back tomorrow, time permitting, to do it all over again. Hopefully at least one of you pitiful losers (heavyduty, snowleopard3200 {mix art}, grandmaof5, thepatriotdave, Ruler4You and others) will have ripped yourself away from your computer and begun to engage in the joys of the real world and the people in it.

      Snowleopard, your post is incoherent.

And I‘d say you’re also showing small mindedness by calling the President of the United States “Obama-san”. Use of the suffix “san” is a polite show of honor and respect in the Japanese culture. The suffix is always used in business relationships, but dropped only in very personal relationships.

You’re using using the word “Obama-san” is sarcastic obviously. You’re suggestion is that Obama is beholden to Japan somehow, but Japan is one of the US’ strongest allies. Obama-san is indeed honorific in that country.

My deduction, and please refute it if you care, is that you have never been out of the country and have had no close association with any Asian, Muslim, or any non-white person from another country.

The World is changing Snow, and the more you know about “the others” the less you are afraid of them.

      @Jtz

Not been out of the states yet I have interacted with many missionaries and travelers of the world, especially of Taiwan, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. I mean the response of refering to the POTUS with the -san suffix sarcastically. The fact of it being a honorific is known, and as far as I am concerned with Obama he has no honor left, he will sell the nation out on the drop of a hat, and seeks to destroy our great land.

I guess refering to him as a Ronin would be better then, an man without honor and just slightly better than a bandit.

Hope this clarifies the situation some.

What is the difference between Bernie Madoff‘s scheme and successive administration’s promise that there was absolutely no problem with the fiscal soundness of Social Security which was in a lockbox? Social Security was being pillaged by politicians whose priorities are first-themselves; second-their lobbyists and power brokers; and third–the people they are supposed to represent. Most politicians consider themselves to be above the rule of law which they apply only to those they consider to be members of the hoi polloi-we the people. Bet you that two of the things that Congress WILL get done during the lame duck session are to exonerate both Rangel and Waters with at most a slap on the wrist. But in a weird sort of logic, would you expect more? Given the nature of the charges–and let’s be frank it is theft, the people still re-elected them overwhelmingly.
