GQ‘s ’25 Least Influential People Alive’ List: Obama and…Hank Jr?

Without further ado, GQ has finally released its “25 Least Influential People Alive” list.
Anticipation for the list grew after reports on The Blaze and other media outlets indicated that President Barack Obama and MSNBC’s Ed Schultz were among its unwilling participants. In fact, just days ago, The Blaze reported that Schultz was up in arms over making the cut — so much so in fact, the he concocted a bizarre conspiracy theory positing that CNN’s Anderson Cooper was the man behind it all.
Below are some highlights from GQ’s ”25 Least Influential People Alive.” The entire list and accompanying photos can be found by visiting the GQ site here.
GQ opens:
Welcome to that other category of famous people: the ones who took up more than their fair share of oxygen and offered zero value in return…
Below are some of the list’s notable highlights. Most of the captions included are only excerpts, not the full text as published on GQ. Some you may agree with, others you may not. Sound off in the comments section.
No. 25 — President Obama:
Okay, so we’re cheating a bit with this one. He did order the raid that wiped Osama bin Laden off the face of the earth. But then he used that surplus of political capital to let everyone in Washington stick a boot in his ass. This is a man who should be the most transformational figure of the century. Hell, he promised to be that. Instead he wields all the power of a substitute teacher at night school.
Making an appearance in the top 5, “Ed Show” host Ed Schultz ranks at No. 3:
There are so many repugnant political pundits on TV now, we tend to forget that the likes of Sean Hannity actually represent the best of the lot.
[...] Do you watch The Ed Show on MSNBC? Of course you don’t. No one does. [...] Did you know MSNBC suspended Schultz this year? It did! He called Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut,” and he still couldn’t get noticed.

Coming it at No. 6 — Bocephus himself:
The hilarious thing about Hank’s getting “fired” from ESPN for comparing President Obama to Hitler is… Exactly what the f*ck did he get “fired” from? His “job” consisted of wearing sunglasses indoors and spending a few days each year recutting that god-awful Monday Night Football song he wrote twenty-seven years ago…
No. 17 — Newsweek/Daily Beast Editor Tina Brown:
Brown spent 2011 transforming Newsweek from a magazine no one reads into a magazine no one reads but everyone despises. That’s what happens when you star-f*ck the corpse of Princess Diana by Photoshopping her at age 50 for your cover, then do a separate Photoshop of her holding an iPhone…
This list in its entirety, while politically charged in some instances, is indeed humorous and worth a peek. Again, to view the full captions on each of the participants above, and see everyone who made the cut — including Michele Bachmann’s husband, Marcus, House Speaker John Boehner, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hosni Mubarak and Gwyneth Paltrow, please visit GQ.

Posted on December 2, 2011 at 4:22pmMakes me glad I didn’t go to night school. Though I did have a geology professor who was all about global warming. I just sat in the back and snickered when he made some stupid observation about how everything but the sun effected our weather.

Of course, the real problem is his additional access to THE BUTTON that launches ALL THE MISSILES.

Posted on December 2, 2011 at 4:16pmThe comments on Obama from GQ got it right, but Hank William’s now that was a low blow and unacceptable! Hank probably wheres sunglasses all the time because of the scarring on his face. Hank almost died from a fall decades ago anf literally had his face ripped off.. So GQ, you owe Hank an apology, but I will applaud you on your comments on Obama! God help us!

Posted on December 2, 2011 at 3:50pmum, the difference is Hank never tried to be influential. He sings country songs and gets stoned with kid Rock. His goal is to make millions. Mission accomplished. I don’t think he gives a rats ass bout influencing anyone and his analogy was spot on.
Obama on the other had preached at us about fundamental transformation and has done nothing in his life but try to influence people or maybe ya’ll missed the explanation of what a community organizer does. In chicago a community organizer gathers a bunch of thugs, busts into a bank and terrorizes the manager until money is exchanged and promises are made. In other words heavy handed extortion and no one gets in trouble because A: they are black and B: they are in chicago. That‘s the extent of this aholes experience and now people bitch because he’s a dismal failure and completely ineffective and weilds no influence. DUH!

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 9:53amDon’t really know where GQ is on the political scale, but what was stated here about Barack could be taken as a complaint for him to take more power to himself than he already has for the “fundamental transformation”. What he has done already, however, is scary enough.
PS. Yes on Hank Jr. I’m not watching ESPN anymore, even when my team plays! The thuggery of the left (ie the politcal pressure used to silence opposition) has to be exposed and opposed. Where are we…in Cuba?

Unfortunately I fear the Obama one is true too, obviously I don’t know for sure but I am imagining other world leaders, i.e Angela Merkel etc wanting to roll their eyes with his delusional speeches. He gets no respect because he gives none…just ask Netanyahou and just ask those that he told to get out of the way and get to the back of the bus. The world treats you the way you treat it…. and Obama hasn’t figured that out yet!

He may well wield that power but he is certainly less effective than a night school substitute teacher.
Does being last on the list(number 25) make Obama the least influential of the least influential?

Posted on December 2, 2011 at 3:22pmI had to cancel my GBTV because I was charged $44.95 on 11/17/11 and service was shut off 11/22/11…don’t know why. I’ve called and emailed a few times each, had my case ‘escalated’ 3 times, and been told I’d get a call soon. NO CALL…it’s 12/2/11.
I don‘t know what’s up, but I don’t like GBTV taking advantage of me. So, I feel I have no choice but to cancel.
ANYBODY ELSE having a problem with this??

Posted on December 2, 2011 at 8:14pm@welloddyfriggindah,
YES. Same exact thing to a tee has happened to me. They have been driving me crazy with their B.S. about escalating, and calling me back, and not doing anything about this situation. I have also emailed them several times, called several times, and all they give you is the run around. I am going to cancel also but I want my fricken money back that they say they didn’t receive (liars). I also feel so taken advantage of and they should be ashamed of themselves to treat long standing members or theirs like this!
Anybody else have this happen to them???
