Graphic Content: Israel Plans Settlement Expansions Following Brutal Slaughter of Jewish Family

Israel has announced plans to build hundreds of new homes in West Bank settlements in a direct response to the grisly stabbing murders of a married Jewish settler couple and three of their children — two kids and an infant — as they slept Friday night.
There are horrific photographs of the murder scene (the 3-year-old stabbed in the heart, the baby’s throat slashed) that the family has apparently allowed to be distributed though the Israeli government decided against an official release. A video complication of the images did not last long on YouTube and Facebook according to Powerline.
This is the video in question. It is very graphic and should only be viewed with our strong content warning in mind.
The family was reportedly attacked by Palestinian militants who broke into the family’s home, the UK Guardian reports.
On Sunday, Israeli police blocked off entrances to Jerusalem and detoured vehicles as more than 20,000 mourners accompanied the innocent family members to their grave sites.
The shocking crime is pushing back any prospects of renewed peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians as Israel moved to approve the construction of 500 new housing units less than 24 hours after the Fogel family’s murder:
The homes are to be built in the large settlement blocks which Israel expects to keep under any peace agreement with the Palestinians. It is the biggest tranche of construction announced since the end of the settlement freeze almost six months ago. Some members of the Israeli cabinet pushed for a more radical response to the family’s murder. Interior minister Eli Yishai, of the pro-settlement, rightwing Shas party, said Israel should build “at least a thousand new homes for each person murdered”.
Housing minister Ariel Atias, also of Shas, said: “We must strengthen the settlement, and the time is now.”
The move signals a stiffening of the Israeli government’s stance in the face of international pressure for a gesture to encourage peace talks to resume. The prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, had been expected to propose an interim Palestinian state on temporary borders, but analysts suggested that may now be shelved.
The Palestinian Authority said the construction announcement was aimed at addressing Netanyahu’s domestic political problems within his fragile coalition. It would not “cause the Palestinians to forgo their right to independence and freedom,” said a spokesman, Ahmad Assaf.
The Guardian also reported emerging details of the Fogel family’s murder as Israeli troops hunt the assailants:
The attacker or attackers scaled Itamar’s perimeter fence, triggering an alarm. Settlement security investigated but failed to notify the Israeli military. The intruders waited inside the settlement for some time after identifying their target, then entered the Fogels’ house through a window. Two children were killed first, then the father, who was asleep with his baby daughter, and then the mother, who, it was reported, attempted to shoot the attackers with the family’s gun. The attackers then escaped over the perimeter fence, triggering a second alarm.
The bodies were discovered by the Fogels’ 12-year-old daughter, who had been attending a youth event in the settlement. Two other children in the house were physically unharmed. The surviving children were being cared for by their grandparents and social workers.
Graphic photographs of the bloodsoaked bodies were yesterday emailed to journalists by the settlers’ Yesha council and a Jerusalem public relations firm. Government officials considered distributing the photographs, but decided against the move.
The hunt for the attackers continued for a second daywith a heavy police and military presence in Palestinian towns and villages around Itamar. At least 20 men were arrested in the nearby village of Awarta. Security forces were also on alert against reprisal attacks by hardline settlers.
Compounding the outrage, Palestinian residents of Rafah handed out candy to celebrate the murders:
Gaza residents from the southern city of Rafah hit the streets Saturday to celebrate the terror attack in the West Bank settlement of Itamar where five family members were murdered in their sleep, including three children.
Residents handed out candy and sweets, one resident saying the joy “is a natural response to the harm settlers inflict on the Palestinian residents in the West Bank.”

Furthermore, as far as I can tell, their main complaints are that Jews refuse to be Muslims, and that Jews won’t hire them for jobs. Gee, I wonder why? (sarcasm)

The answer here is simple; kill them all.
I could create “Peace”, in Israel, in one day. I would simply give these vermin 15 minutes to get across the Jordan river. I would then order the Israeli military to kill everyone, & destroy everything; that remained.
Settle the entire West Bank, & Gaza Strip; with Israeli citizens.

I understand that whole families have been killed inadvertently during fighting between soldiers or by long range projectile / air strikes. I do not understand how this helps any one. I do not understand why this is a reason to be joyous. I certainly am not happy to hear of any child, regardless of her / his ethnic / religious background being slaughtered, collaterally or willfully.

It is about reacting wisely and not vengefully. ******* off as many Arab West Bank residents as possible by expanding into Palestinian territory isn’t going to bring back that family. To the best of their ability, Israel should protect its people and work to actually remedy the situation. I don’t see what purpose settlement expansion would serve that would not be negated by the hostile response.

The fact is, teh Palestianinas do not want peace, will go to any lengths to stop any peace. Everytime Israel gives up land, they want more land, but they give up nothing. But I think the jihadists are right. Israel will stand as long as America does.

And both families have a contract with God for an inheritance but they always fight over the original since it was generally accepted rules that the first born son inherited the fathers wealth.

I know manyPalestinians. I’ve lived among them, studied Arabic with them, enjoyed meals with their families, and I dated a girl from Gaza. In many ways, this story is being used as propaganda by the Israeli government to further the settlement building and to avoid compromise. Let me first say that I am an American and a Conservative and a Christian. I generally side with Israel on international issues, but I also understand the plight of the Palestinians. Mindless brutality is never excused…however, much also exists on the flipside. It can be easy to react to a story like this and recoil with disgust at the Palestinians. What an awful reality both sides have before them, and I hope the day of peace is not so far away.

Save the “how sad” for a dog which looses a pup or two from a litter. that’s sad… this isn’t. Rape and murder are not merely sad. They are a dramatic corruption of our fellow man, and an indignity we should feel for the victims to the point of being willing to grabbing hold of the scum who did this and dispatch them from existence.
This cowardly act is Barbaric and outrageous! The perps need to be found, tried, and then executed without mercy, because they are worse than animals…. they are filthy “sons of disobedience” who have allowed their carnal minds to be completely given over to the INSANE SELF-CONSUMING BITTERNESS, WRATH and JEALOUSY that only SATAN possesses against humanity, …. but especially against the SONS and DAUGHTERS of ISRAEL.
And this act is following a pattern of taunts and jabs that an increasingly “macho” Islamic World is finding delight in. They are on a high from a power trip similar to one a young adolescent experiences when he gets revenge on a neighbor by beating up on the neighbor’s pet dog, and overpowering it.
It is now clear to me that Daniel was allowed to see what the response of the WEST to ISLAM pushing itself around in it’s face is going to be. The WEST is going to loose it’s cool with the Middle East, and many nations there will be put to the sword. And to put the Cherry on top, Israel is going to be blamed as the ROOT CAUSE and the INSTIGATOR of the “in your face” attitude that the Muslim world has now adopted, and they will be “dealt with” as well.
Read Daniel 11 and 12. That Prophecy goes from Daniel’s day all the way to the Return of Christ and beyond. The identity of the “King of the North” and the “King of the South” has changed many times over the last 2500 years of fulfillment of Daniel 11.
I believe that by the time we get to the last few verses (about verse 24 and forward) that start to reference the “time of the end”, the identity of the “King of the North” is a conglomerate of western powers, and the “King of the South” is an Islamic Caliphate.
Notice especially verse 40: “And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
Dan 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
Dan 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. ”
Read the whole thing, because the actions and suffering of the righteous are singled out for praise by God Himself. Very stark contrast with what we see Islam inspiring it’s followers to think and to do.

A Jewish family, including three children, was stabbed to death after their attackers sneaked into their home in the Itamar settlement near Nablus. Two other children who were present in the home escaped harm, and a third family member was out of the house when the attack occurred. The ages of the three children murdered were 12, 3 and 3 months.
The terrorist wing of Fatah—the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades—has claimed responsibility for the attack.
In response to the brutal act, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved construction in other Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Three hundred to five hundred homes will be built within the existing settlements. As Netanyahu explained at the funeral of the murdered family, “They shoot and we build.”
Netanyahu was disappointed by how long it took the international community to condemn the appalling attack.
“I have noticed that several countries that always hasten to the UN Security Council in order to condemn Israel, the state of the Jews, for planning a house in some locality, or for laying some tiles somewhere, have been dilatory in sharply condemning the murder of Jewish infants,” he said in a broadcast statement. “I expect them to issue such condemnations immediately, without balances, without understandings, without justifications.”
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas waited until Monday to condemn the attack as a “despicable, immoral and inhuman act.” This statement, given in an interview with Israel Radio, came a day after the Palestinian Authority named a town square after Dalal al-Mughrabi—a man who is responsible for one of the worst terrorist attacks in Israel’s history. Mughrabi was the leader of a bus hijacking that resulted in the deaths of 37 Israelis back in 1978.
The Israeli prime minister was quick to point out that although Abbas’s statement went out over Israeli media, it needed to be sent out on Palestinian radio.
