Graphic Warning: CNN Airs Alleged Photo of Dead Gadhafi

CNN has just aired an alleged AFP (French news agency) photo showing what appears to be a dead Moammar Gadhafi. MSNBC ran the same photo, which seems to be a still taken from a video camera.

We warn you, the photo is graphic, so click with caution:

It is still unknown if Gadhafi is dead, as there have been no confirmed reports yet. Still, Reuters reports (via Sky News) that an NTC official confirms the photo apparently showing Gaddafi was the ousted Libyan dictator.

A good reminder: when pictures of a dead Osama bin Laden were released, they were quickly debunked. But CNN and MSNBC are still running with the Gadhafi picture, with the appropriate warnings.

Al Jazeera has obtained another, exclusive photo supposedly showing a dead Gadhafi:

Al Jazeera has acquired exclusive footage of the body of Muammar Gaddafi after he was killed in his hometown, Sirte.

Abdul Hakim Belhaj, an NTC military chief, said Gaddafi had died of his wounds after being captured near Sirte on Thursday.

The body of the former Libyan leader was taken to a location which is being kept secret for security reasons, an NTC official said.

“Gaddafi’s body is with our unit in a car and we are taking the body to a secret place for security reasons,” Mohamed Abdel Kafi, an NTC official in the city of Misrata, told Reuters.

Earlier, Abdel Majid, another NTC official, said the toppled leader had been wounded in both legs.

    To be fair, you should also note that FOX has also aired this picture — but without the graphic content warning. I was caught off guard this morning.

      Having a day off today I have been sitting here with Fox News on the tube and going back and forth from it to Glenn Beck’s radio show. The first time Fox ran that pic there was a warning, but having seen it several times now I have not caught any further warnings.

      lol this is nothing. You should visit some of the narco sites and see what the mexican drug cartels do every single day. They make alqaeda look like amateurs when it comes to hacking people up, and alot of them move about our country freely.

      In all fairness. I watched the video on Fox the first time they aired it and they did warn it was going to be a dead mommar …and he had been shot in the legs and shot in the head…if you can’t figure out that that sort of photo would be not a photo on the park setting…then turn off your tv and go back to bed…and you point is that you are an idiot…or what?

      I was caught off guard as well…so…what happened to the “we can’t air pictures because it would inflame the Arab world ” talking point?
      I guess there is no moral high ground when you don’t like the butchered person….these squishy morals are a bit confusing
      I always kind of wondered about the rumors that Osama had died years ago and was kept“on ice” until it was useful to haul the corpse out….now I am even more certain that this so.
      Live by the sword, die by the sword…..seems Obama, the premature Peace Prize Prez is all for taking out despots and “not wars” ( Samantha Powers/Soros Doctrine to Protect ) but can’t seem to create a job to save his life…..when your numbers tank…..kill another despot.

      I guess trials are so yesterday, so these are our new BFFs, great, I am encouraged by their heightened state of enlightenment. How are they behaving any differently from Khadaffi, they’re not and are only driven by a different flavor of bloodlust.

      Just watch, Kony in Uganda will be killed next.

      Obama told us that we could not see pictures of Ben Laden’s body or of his burial because it would be insensitive to Muslims around the world. So how do the Obama-Communists now explain how pictures and videos of Gadahfi can be splashed all over the papers and TVs of the Muslim World. I want to know why we cannot see Ben Laden’s funeral. What don’t the Obama-Communists want us to see. What don’t they want us to see? What is it?

      Having been in the service and stationed in Germany when this mad dog had the Liberty Bell club in Berlin bombed so as to kill American servicemen, his earlier attempts to attack U.S. Naval ships and loosing two aircraft to jets from the USS Kennedy on it’s “Super Carrier” cruise. The bombing of Libya by F111s from Lackenheath. And, the fact that I was on the same flight three days before it went down over Lockerbie. I certainly don’t mind if he is dead, but I have to agree with you. Who will Obama put his cross hairs on next? Or for that matter, any future presidents. Naturally, the lapdog press will praise Obama, but will wildly excoriate a non democrat president should he send troops into battle with the express backing of a majority in Congress. Like Bush did!

    It certainly does “solve a lot of legal problems”! The Obama way, no waterboarding their butts just blow them to pieces. I am getting to love this man’s foreign policy. Now if we could only have some of that swift and just punishment for the evil crapper radical Muslim who killed 14 and wounded 32 at Foot Hood last year we would be solving another “legal problem.” It is amazing, we capture a man in the actual physical act of murdering 14 soldiers and wounding another 32 and cannot even bring him to trial yet! Is there something wrong with this picture my good American patriot friends. We overthow two Muslim governments is less time than prosecuting the murdering radical Muslim caught in the physical act. This administration is pitiful.

      It’s really quite simple, if you stop and think about it, Qadaffi is an opressor of the muslim/islamic people. Hasan was one of thier holy warriors. You have to understand the internal politics of the situation. We are not dealing with a centrist American logic here.

      Against the Muslim/islamic calliphate = ok to target and kill
      Fighting for the Mus/Islamic calliphate = defend the hero

      This is the mind of our president, you can see the correlation in all his decisions with this test, in regards to the Muslim/Islamic situations, including how he is dealing with Afghanistan, Egypt, Seria, Iran, and Turkey. Once you know this it’s not hard to see the truth.

    Breaking News from the Obama Network. Obama has shot Ghadaffi. He was the only man in the room who could pull the trigger. Thousands rejoice in the country of Libya at the heroism of Obama. Later today Obama will reportedly plug his jobs bill from Tripoli.

      That is the BIG question. It is believed that Obama’s buddy Osama was dead long before the raid due to his medical condition. he needed dialysis to stay alive! where was all of the medical equipment in the compound. It was all a staged show as far as anyone knows.

    I’m glad Gadhafi (or however we’re spelling his name this week) is out of power and has assumed room temperature, but I can’t help but think that these blood suckers coming to power in Libya will turn out to be far worse than Moammar.

    Did Hillary Clinton kill him? She was just there. When the Obama administration starts another Ickey Shuffle over Gadhaffi’s demise, remember that Hillary actually did the deed.

    I’m not even looking at the photos, but I do have a question: How in the world could he ever look worse in death than he did in life? he and arafat are/were two of the ugliest people to ever live, speaking only of the outside appearance. Both clintons, pelosi, waters and reed certainly rival the inner workings for ugliest people ever to live.

    Again everyone should be aware the key word of “Alleged.” This guy has been claimed to have been either dead or captured so many times we may never be absolutly sure in the end.

    Expect our President to start crowing and claiming credit for the matter now, to try and make politcial points from the matter — and he will push for more and more chaos in our nation for the downfall of the Republic in the “American Winter.”
