Greek Protesters Storm TV Studio and Demand Air Time

A mob of student protestors entered a Greek state TV channel NET and forced the live broadcast to shut down yesterday.

The students intended to discuss their grievances with Prime Minister George Papandreou’s education reform plan. They demanded to speak on the air or that the studio play a protest video they had in their possession.

Producers in the studio didn’t want to take any chances and pulled the plug, according to Euro News.

Outside on the streets of Athens, however, protestors proved less docile. They caused havoc as they tried to break in to Parliament and occupied Amalias avenue in front of the Parliament building. Protestors threw rocks and firebombs. Riot police responded with batons and tear gas.

Anti-austerity violence has been on the rise in Greece since the summer ended. Apparently even when facing national bankruptcy, the Greeks take vacation in August from everything, including protesting.

The Greeks have just been told that the FREE RIDE is over . What you see happening in Greece can well happen here , the Democrat party is working on “community organizing ” which is code words for telling folks that all their problems are someone else’s fault & that they have the right to tear stuff & to take what they want if they can’t get what they want for free . Sadly there are a lot of folks who will fall for this & when the next election comes around look for violence in the streets . It is truly sad that this nations political debate has degenerated to the point were we the people are preparing to fight a dirty little war because a great many of our citizens have no idea what it is to be a adult citizen in this REPUBLIC.

Greece is socialism at it’s worst. The government is corrupt, the population wroughts the system. It’s not unusual for a Greek to be getting 4 pensions. Cradle to the grave entitlements. And what’s Greece got to pay for it? Tourism, some agriculture and some shipping..that’s it. Greece should never have adopted the Euro and joined the EU but the lure of “free stuff” appealed to a society used to getting “free stuff”. Now the bill‘s arrived and they don’t want to pay for it.

If protesters invade a studio, cut the power.

If the protesting tards don’t know how to operate the equipment, one might ask what equipment they do know how to operate or what if any skills they have.

If the resort to physical harm, there is always the hangman.

They should have all been arrested! The Greeks also need to learn what going to work really means!
I’m not sure they understand the concept! And why should the rest of the world have to bail them out of their financial woes? Let them bail themselves out and then go to work! I’m 70 and still working fulltime! And the Greeks retire at what age??!!! 50? 55? Such a life! And who takes care of them after that? The government? Sounds just like the U.S.A. Only here we call it welfare or something else! Of course here the more babies you have with no father around, the more money the government pays you! What a system! How sad! And believe some folks, too many folks, work the system for all they possibly can! Is it little wonder that the U.S.A. is following in the steps of Greece? And we have our President and Congress to than!

I guess they were too poor to buy time on the TV for their protest video. I think I know what it said: Invest in Education. The future of Greece is at stake if we don’t get your/state money. We have a similar process here. Every government activity is critical and saves the world or the planet. Any reduction of support is like an insult to the demigods of education, health or whatever politically correct category happens to be the subject at the time.

I can imagine a conflict of interest at the TV station which seemed be government owned. What would happen if the video suggested shutting down the TV station to put more money into the protester’s education. They might also suggest laying off a few police officers since once they get what they want, there won’t be the same level of need for police officers then. If the government lacks the courage to decide how to divide money between between recipients of government largess before the checks are written, then there will eventually be a cage match on the street to do their job for them. ” Communism is nothing but what it used to be like before there was civilization,” said a famous doctor, Gustave LeBon.

I came from a poor family. My parents did not believe in school. So I worked a full time job while in highshcool, and worked to jobs and took college courses as finances allowed. Then years later I eaned a BS degree, with high honors from Rutgers and went on to earn six figures on Wall Street. I than paid for my daughters education. That’s the way it is supposed to work. People don’t become middleclass or rich, by asking others to pay their way.

If the Greeks can’t get on Greek TV, just have them contact Fox News who gives a forum to every wackjob, frothing-at-the-mouth liberal wanting to spout something stupid- all in the interest of being “fair-and-balanced. If that weren’t true, than how does a marxist, black-nationalist racist like Lamont Hill become a “Fox contributor”?

The point is, of ALL the major or “mainstream” TV networks and cable-news channels, the ONLY ONE that regularly presents BOTH sides of the news is FOX. Period.

And if, by allowing your typical lefty-radical moron mouthpiece on-air to display his “superior intellect” and expose your typical anti-American and socialist/“progressive” agenda for the moronic drivel it certainly IS, FOX News embarrasses those of you on the left… then this is TRULY fair and balanced broadcasting. The left has MANY great examples of your typical liberal talking-head moron… Schultz, Matthews, Maher, O’Donnell, Maddow, and Sharpton are just a few of the “great” ones.

But what REALLY steams the FOX News-haters out there in TV-viewer land isn‘t the left’s stupid over-exposed and overpaid media mouthpieces being put on the spot. It’s the fact that, unlike FOX, the left-leaning lamestream media almost NEVER airs actual audio or video of their dearly beloved “progressive”/lefty Democrat politicians when they put their ignorance/arrogance/dishonesty/hypocricy/hate-for-America/love-for-collectivism/soft-on-terrorism/etc, etc… on record… Which, when Democrat politicians (and their union thug supporters) frequently and invariably put their feet in their stupid, unworthy mouths… FOX News is right there with the raw and unfiltered evidence… and leave it up to the VIEWER to decide.

Me thinks you “progressive” idiots doth protest a bit too much !

Look, in Greece, they have added a special real estate tax, Cut pensions by 20-30 percent. Within this year, 30,000 public sector employees will be put into a ‘labour pool’ (3% of 1 million). These employees will receive just 60% of their basic salary for 12 months. If no posts in the public sector open up for them during this time, they will then be fired.. Lowered the cut off for collecting income tax to those that are below the poverty level.
The uniform payroll is going to be implemented straight away. This will result in cuts up to 40% for the public sector employees, while in some cases this might even exceed a 50% cut.

Without these type of measures in the US, I can not see how we will be able to get our deficit under control and I am sure we will have riots in the streets, When you take away their (un) earned income credit and start asking people to chip in to the income tax when they are used to us paying taxes and splitting it up among the ‘poor’ they will become angy too. Just wait-we are in for a bumpy ride.

They should confiscate all wealth from anyone with 100,000 or more in saving. It would not completely fill the budget gap, but it would be a good start (in liberal minds).

People wouldn’t work had the next year, because your going to take everything from them anyway. So you will have to run the country like Kim Il sung runs North Korea.
