Greenpeace Founder Questions Man-Made Global Warming

Patrick Moore, co-founder of the environmental organization Greenpeace, isn’t too hot about global warming. Appearing on Fox Business Network with Stuart Varney on Thursday, he said global warming is a “natural phenomenon,” there’s no proof of man-made global warming, and suggested that “alarmism” is driving politicians to create bad environmental policies. He also said he’s not the only environmentalist that believes like him:
Moore is the author of the book, “Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout: The Making of a Sensible Environmentalist,” in which he exposes the green movement and explains why he left the organization.
While talking with Varney, he explained that departure was in part due to the group’s “extremist positions” and it being hijacked by political and social causes as well as the left:

The study of environmentalism began only in the mid last century and as such is too young a Science for Scientists to draw any broad sweeping proclamations without doing a thorough examination using current technology.

Report Post »I respect this guy for standing up for principle and speaking out on his views. The global warming movement as it stands today is about political and economic power, not about saving the planet. Notice how they never talk about replanting the forests that were cut down in regions affected by changes in rainfall and temperature? I read an article a couple years ago about the lack of snow on Mt. Kilamanjaro as proof of global warming. Near the end of the article was a mention that the slopes of the mountain had been completely deforested. Hmm, you think that might have something to do with the change? Sheesh. I would expect my high school aged son to see straight through that one.

I tried to argue with a few greenpeace lackeys about why their founder left the organization! What a waste of my time! Sure a massive volcanic eruption can cool things down for a few years but the rise and fall of solar activity is far more determinate than anything that occurs down here.

It was a very captivating interview and even Varney and Company had a very hard time breaking in and over-talking him like they do on other guests, they were really, really listening. He brought up enough facts according to him anyway that I’m going to give his book a read.
What I actually thought interesting was his support of nuclear energy and other life saving chemicals. He actually wants to balance ecology, business, and the western way of life. Intersting indeed and quite refreshing.

We all did to some degree even though on some instinctual level something seemed off. Six years ago I had had enough when my 4th grader came home in hysterics wanting to know “why did grown ups wanted to kill all the polar bears?” What began then was a 2 years process of de-programming ourselves and my child. There are hundreds out there like him and all have been trying to get his same message out for almost a decade now. It all started when the IPCC fraudulently put their names on the false panel reports that they refused to endorse – they have been vilified and silenced, reputation have been maligned and/or destroyed. You should do your own investigation. Shows us all how far in the bag everyone’s head has been that people are only now paying attention. Think how many more people would still believe in their junk science if climategate hadn’t happened.
