Groups Anti Israel Message Hits Seattle Billboards

In December, the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign (SeaMAC) launched an anti-Israel bus-ad campaign accusing Israel of war crimes. That campaign was approved by the city, but after public outcry was eventually canned. Now, the SeaMAC has decided to enlarge its Israeli hate. The group has now paid for billboards that will trumpet its message.

“We always planned to follow our bus ad campaign with additional messages in other venues. We had this Equal Rights banner designed before we launched our ‘Israeli War Crimes’ campaign in December,” Mark Eichinger-Wiese, recent chair of the SeaMAC steering committee, said in a press release. “Israel continues to use military force to maintain occupation, apartheid and imprisonment, and US military aid to Israel is an ongoing obstacle to justice and peace.”

The new billboard campaign is an “equal rights” message of sorts that calls on America to “stop funding the Israeli military:”

The group says the U.S. gives “several billion dollars of military aid to Israel each year, and has promised $30 billion of aid over the next ten years. Israel recently asked for $20 billion more aid.”

And while it claims that Palestinians suffer widespread persecution at the hands of the Jews, it is silent about the antagonistic tactics of the Palestinians. For example, earlier this month an anti-tank missile fired from the Gaza Strip struck a school bus in southern Israel, wounding two people, including one child critically.

The group’s billboard is part of a growing anti-Isreal, pro-Palestinian movement in the U.S. This week, for example, the University of South Florida students are celebrating “Israeli Apartheid Week” featuring anti-Israel speakers and even an anti-American British rapper.

    How about a billboard showing the Palestinians whooping, hollering and jumping for joy within hours after 3000 were killed on 9/11 and while the towers were still smoldering. Isreal should cut out the cancer by obliterating the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Then with their nukes they should target the major cities of all those countries who intend to “wipe them off the map” and tell them “if you try to obliterate us… we really will obliterate you.

      How about the jew photographers dancing on top of their van? When asked what they were doing, they said they were there to “document the situation”.. Please explain how they knew in advance there would be a situation to document.

    This “Is” a joke, right?.. the muslims/palestinians ‘been lobbing missiles into Israeli villages for years now, murdering Civilians (on Both sides), and basically causing havoc for everyone in the area …

    I sorta would like to see Idaho start lobbing missiles at Oregon school buses, and see if they start crying about “Oregon’s War crimes” … How ’bout Washington start sending suicide bombers and we’ll watch “Oregonians” invite them into their restaurants for a free lunch, and offer to help them out by pushing the button … What are they talking about?..

      Yes there are palestinian civilian and Israel does not target them. These palestinian terrorists that you love so much kill or try to kill any Jew they can find and if they can find a family with several children then they get so excited with the “opportunity” to kill all those “evil” Jews. After they do all this killing of women and children and if they get their way, infants also, then they run and hide behind the skirt tales of their women and their children daring Israel to kill them. Sometimes innocents do get killed in war, the idea is not to target them out. The palestinian cowards do target innocent people out as their primary targets while Israel tries to target the killers that are doing these killings. There are 2 things that jump out at me, (1) the claims that you are making against Israel is exactly what the palestinian terrorists do on purpose and as the way they prefer to do it. (2) I cannot think of anyone with any sense of self respect for themselves or for life in general that could support this type of people with any kind of a clear conscience. It tells me what type of a person does support them. As bad and as evil Hitler was I’m not 100% sure which is worse him or these people that do this and the people that support them.

      This is not all directed towards Eat-More-Bacon but……..It seems like the crusades, both islam (not Muslim) and Christian, never end. I say islam, for they are an offshoot of Muslim. The terrible thing is, these children, just like children in Israel, Jordan, Sudan, Algeria (one F’d up place) never have a chance to grow up in their own respectable way. They grow up having to worry about living. And dying. For what?

      Didn‘t Jesus say Israel’s house is abandoned to her? This meant the nation of Israel was no longer under the covenant that their God made with them, to be His chosen people. They broke that covenant by their rejection of God’s Son.

      Wow…Good Friday seems to really be bringing out the hate in a lot of people, or bringing out the trolls…..sad
      I really can’t recall the last time a palestinian family was murdered in their beds and that Jews in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem celebrated by passing out candy and dancing in the streets.
      Don’t those who oppose Israel and her right to exist ever wonder what happens to all the money that goes to the palestinians and to Gaza……..

It is a wonder how anyone could justify (either themselves or the people that are so enamored by them) hiding behind innocent people that way because they know that there will be a flak if the Jews kill an innocent trying to get at the cowardly terrorist killer hiding behind them. Not that it matters anyways, there are a lot of people out there doesen’t care who it is the Jews kill, if they kill a terrorist who just killed a family of 6 or 8 people it’s ok because they are “only Jews” and they can be killed. I can deal w/ a Hitler let‘s just pray to God for all of our sakes another Uncle Joe doesn’t appear? lol I know GB spent a lot of time attempting to the blend the two ideologies together but they are in reality far apart and let’s just suffice it to say Joe had torture chambers before there was War and Joe continued to operate many torture chambers even after the War..       This is not a poster against Judaism. This is not even a poster against Israel. This is a poster that factually states that we are funding the Israeli military which has committed war crimes against the Palestinian populace. While no side is blameless in that conflict, Israel has used white phosphorous and artillery strikes against Palestinian civilian centers and schools. Those are war crimes. That is a fact.

      So what’s the problem again? This is Israeli AWARENESS, not Israeli HATE. Telling someone does something wrong does not equal to hating someone. Please get that into your heads.

      WSGAC: I did not read the report authored by “Goldstone” but apparently many thought that this conclusions stated that Israel had committed War Crimes until they forced him to change his conclusion. You know Money and Political pressure has a way of making one change their conclusions.. lol Regardless I didn‘t have to read Goldstone’s report because I actually saw the video tape of the bombings with my own eyes!! Many videos out there on the web which document the facts.
      But who the hell cares right? Jews have this god giving right to slaughter women and children while so called Christians turn the other way or the ones on the Blaze actually applaud the slaughter.. I’ve never in my life witnessed such hypocrisy but I use to be among you.. I know how easy it is to be deceived.. I like how when GB defends Israel he says we all have our little foibles.. lol No GB, stealing a loaf of bread maybe classified as a little foible; slaughtering women and children through indiscriminate bombing is a War Crime.

      I feel sick! Seattle was such a nice city 20,30 years ago.
      I visited relatives there in 2008 and went downtown. My license plate is BLKRIFL and I was concerned I would return to my little hotrod and find it damaged by these freaks. Fortunately, I parked between a couple of vans and I don’t think anyone noticed, but I wouldn’t try the same today.

      ZOMBIE JESUS LOVES ME, we send foreign aid all over the world, both military aid and otherwise. We‘re the most generous country in the world and we’re only demonized by most of the people for whom we are providing the financial support. At least Israel doesn’t do that. However, considering are fiscal situation, we need to seriously rethink our foreign aid policies. This includes aid to Israel.

      One thing to remember, Israel is a very important ally. They are rapidly being surrounded by people who want to eliminate them for now other reason besides them being Jewish. If that’s allowed to happen, the middle-east will become very unstable, and it will directly affect you and your way of life. How are you feeling about $4 per gallon gas? If Saudi Arabia and the straight of Hormuz are disrupted significantly, you’ll be wishing for $4 per gallon again.

However, the current administration doesn’t have the courage to stand-up to the Chinese government and their atrocities imposed on the Tibetans. We simply can‘t fight everyone’s wars for them or fund everyone’s wars. We have to choose where to best send our money. If the middle-east is brought to chaos, it will affect the US’ economy dramatically. Then the rest of the world would be affected by either the economic ripple-effect or the lack of foreign aid.       I don‘t think that’s the end of the story either. American support for Israel is the single biggest factor fostering anti-Americanism in the Middle East and among Muslim terrorists as a whole. That means quite a bit of our defense budget (including the war in Afghanistan) is going towards fighting the indrect consequences of this policy. We make messes, and then we spend to clean them up, and then we spend to clean up the results of our fixes. It’s a terrible cyclical cycle. This is, of course, leaving aside the fact that we’re perpetuating a conflict. We have the potential to bring the sides to the negotiating table: if we leverage our aid to Israel, we can initiate talks and see if these talks can go better than talks of the past. The poster’s inflammatory, but the sentiment might not be terrible.

      There’s a silent majority of Muslims who just want the suffering to end. A common school of thought, both in Israel and in Palestine, is that the leaders egg the conflict on so that they can use the fight to keep their people unified. It’s not “the people” or “the Muslims” who don’t want peace; when you’re hungry, and peace means bread, you’ll do anything to find peace. The words of “muslims” can’t be made out from the noise; I know a lot of people who’ve been involved with the violence. They just want it to stop. But even if the talks DO go nowhere, it doesn’t make a difference; supporting talks is better than supporting violence. Talks are healthier, talks are more productive, and more importantly, talks are cheaper.
