Jeffrey Neely, a government official on the front lines of a scandal regarding the Government Service Administration’s (GSA) $822,000 “training conference,” is pleading the fifth, according to his lawyer. ABC reports, “He won’t comment on the bizarre awards ceremony, the commemorative coins, or the mind-reader/motivational speaker“ which the GSA Inspector General have deemed ”excessive“ and ”wasteful.”
However, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, and his wife has dozens on her Google+ page showing him enjoying the lavish amenities. In the photos, Neely is allegedly on one of the eight “per-conference” trips — planning trips before the elaborate conference that’s become infamous. Those trips cost taxpayers $130,000 alone, according to the GSA Inspector General’s investigation.
One picture even shows Neely shirtless and soaking in a tub with two glasses of what appear to be wine right next to him:
According to ABC, the loft suites “have 2,400 square feet of space, two stories, multiple HD televisions and wet bars, and a going rate of $1,179 per night. Flat suites have 1,440 square feet and cost $449-$599 per night.”
ABC explains the cost breakdown:
Travel expenses for conference planning totaled $100,405.37, and catering costs totaled over $30,000. GSA spent money on refreshment breaks during the planning meetings, which it had no authority to do, and the cost of catered meals at those meetings exceeded per diem limits.”
The misuse of funds is so egregious, that Inspector General Brian Miller has referred the case to the Justice Department for a possible criminal investigation.
A total of 31 pictures of the elaborate “work trip” can be found on the Google + page of Neely’s wife, under the name “M Hotel@Vegas Nov2009.”

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 4:10pmJust one more outrage against the American people. Why haven’t these people been fired? GSA is just one more agency that needs to be eliminated after the 2012 elections and Obama and his band of crooks are gone.

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 4:27pmUnfortunately you are exactly correct. There is no opposition party, for one thing. Worse yet- we can’t even get conservatives to stand up and fight. Almost every “conservative” I know can’t even manage the “bold” step of shunning mainstream news in favor of rightwing new media. And no matter what we learn about the corrupt, indoctrinating “higher education” sytem in America, we all rush our young skulls full of mush straight into those commie schools because we can’t have our children starting out at < 60,000 a year their first job, can we? Yep, too many of us have all the wrong priorities- namely greed.

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 4:41pmoops wrong clip sorry! Correct one! Blame lies on Democrats and Obama Since 2007?
The day the democrats took over was NOT January 22nd 2009, it WAS actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress. The Democrat Party controlled the majority in BOTH chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time: The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77; The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%; The Unemployment rate was 4.6%. George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH!
Remember the day…
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
Unemployment… to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!
Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to STOP Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

The federal government spends like a bunch of crackheads until the money is gone … then they go rob some “rich guy” who worked hard and saved! Hey, I had to attend to my business this year…no vacations for me!
What really ticks me off, I paid my taxes today! For what I paid the federal governmentI could have had a two month stay in the South of France! Or if I use Obama’s monetary policy, I could have put a couple of Chevy Volts in my garage!

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 3:55pmA. This guy should go to jail. If his wife was with him, she should go to jail as well.
B. One thing that is being left out of the story is the air fare. I believe that many, if not all of these leeches fly to these thing on first class tickets. All government employees should fly coach, no matter how high up on the totem pole they are – or think they are. First class fares can be 100% to 300% or more than coach fares. Everyone who flew first class to get to these junkets should be fired.
We have to cut government spending. The easiest way to get this done is to tell every every member of Congress, all cabinet secretaries, and department managers to cut thier budgets by 20% within the next 60 days. They can do it however they want. Cut 20% of their people, cut all salaries 20%, make their employees pay for their pensions and health insurance, or a combination of all. One year later, make them cut an additional 20%. If they refuse or are too incompetent to get it done within the time frame, fire the managers of every department that didn’t get it done – all of them.

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 3:55pmOur government is full of Madoffs, the GSA is just the tip of the iceberg. The should ALL lose their retirements! And take a seat right next to Madoff. That’s THE law I want passed. Any government employee, from the President on down needs to account for every penny. It is makes me sick when you consider how hard we work for the money to pay the government. They have become the enemy. We need to clean house big time.
