Guards for Alaska GOP Senate Candidate Handcuff EditorANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — The editor of an online Alaska news site says he was handcuffed and detained by private security guards working for Republican Senate candidate at a town hall meeting.

Tony Hopfinger, editor of the online Alaska Dispatch, tells KTUU-TV that security pushed him as he tried to question Joe Miller on Sunday. He says he pushed back and that guards then detained him, accusing him of trespassing at the public event in Anchorage.

The Dispatch is among the media outlets suing for access to Miller’s personnel record from his time as a government attorney.

Miller security guard William Fulton says Hopfinger was escorted away from the meeting after ignoring requests to stop putting a camera in the candidate’s face.

No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.

I heard that they are going to the reservations with food and lame promises to get the Native Americans to vote, Making the same in the black communities. The buses are gasing up,no holes barred.Full throttle to make another election bought and paid for by the progressives.

    Once again the news reporter is the news rather than reporting it. Obama still hasn’t released his College or past work documents. I don’t see the liberal media attacking him.

    This was probably a staged incident, created deliberately by the trespasser, so he could then get handcuffs on himself, pictures taken of it, and then those pictures sent out with a phony story about being harassed. He probably had a cohort with him, to take pictures of it.

    It’s amazing how the media is so interested in the past of any Republican that is running, yet never question a Democrat beyond their feelings! Could this be reason they are all in a downward spiral?

    Still waiting for dear leader to provide a valid certificate of Birth. Now required by Federal law for a drivers license in a lot of states, duplicates and copies are not valid.

    I’m quite sure Hopfinger knew exactly what he was doing. He created the situation for the “story”.

    His agenda is quite clear, just as it was during Sarah Palin’s time as Governor…. dirty tricks and absolutely no respect.

    So Tony Hopfinger just wanted to ask some hard questions, why don’t you ask Obama and his bunch some hard questions??????????? And so now the online Alaska Dispatch wants to see Republican Miller’s past records, well yeah, we would like to see Obama’s past records too, starting with his birth records. Oh the humanity!

    Really I wonder if Joe has anything to hide as why he wouldn’t allow people to search his past is beyond me. What he did in the past could affect how he votes. I hope Joe wins as he‘s better then crybaby Lisa but I’m worried about him saying that he doesn’t want people to investigate his past

If this guy got in somebody’s face and was not invited then perhaps a swift kick in his liberal ass is warranted. Feeling who report the FAIR AND BALANCED news should be welcome but when they come to merely try and discredit and distort the news, they should go back to their sewer until they get their head straight.     Wow, the Obama lame stream media is trying to influence this mid-term election by trying their best to make the GOP candidates look bad. First Palladino now Miller. Hope the people of Alaska won’t fall for this dirty trick.

    How come the same media was never persistent in looking into the closet of then Senator Obama?

      I was thinking the exact same thing. Obama had no records–Oh, I mean, they were lost, and sealed, and maybe hidden (hhmmmm). If Joe Miller tells everyone that all those records were just “LOST”, do you think he would have gotten the same pass as Obama did; not just from Alaska, but from media across the nation! I don’t think so!

    Oh he just forgot to mention that he shoved the camera in Miller’s face and was asked to back off. That probably wasn’t important to the story, I guess. Anyone else get the feeling he knew what he was doing all along, searching for a “bigger” story?

      When the news you are supposed to be reporting doesn’t fit your ideology, you have to make the news that will fit. His “news” outlet is suing to try to get dirt on Miller so that should tell us something about this “reporter” and his employers.

      “I was there and this issue had nothing to do with Miller in any capacity. The reporter/editor would not move so people and Mr. Miller could leave the premise on his way to another event. He was told three times to move and then he shoved someone to keep his camera in the face of Miller. In my opinion, it was a stage act that keeps people off the issues and more of the same hack job reporting we have seen from liberal Alaska media. This is not journalism any longer it is simply an agenda.”

      Sounds like the reporter should be charged with battery, go to court and do jail time. These libertards need to learn the lesson that they are not above the law. You can’t push someone just because they are in your way. It‘s battery and it’s a crime. The doofus Jay Levine in Chicago is finding this out the hard way :-)
