Guess How Many People Showed Up For Alvin Greene’s Election Party

The newscaster from South Carolina’s WLTX-TV summed up U.S. Senate candidate Alvin Greene’s (D) campaign succinctly: “Alvin Greene did shock and sometimes embarrass Democrats by winning his party’s nomination.”
That shock and embarrassment climaxed a few weeks ago when during an appearance on MSNBC he refused to say much more than “Jim DeMint caused the recession,” which bewildered host Lawrence O’Donnell.
So it probably comes as no surprise that barely anyone showed up for his election night party on Tuesday — save for about a dozen family members and close friends — and that Greene refused to concede the race even though the Associated Press called it as soon as the polls closed.
Instead, he went after winner Jim DeMint in his signature aloof manner:
Still, Greene was able to garner about 330,000 votes. And the night wasn’t a complete failure. According to WLTX, he used the event to unveil a new Alvin Greene comic book:
Greene premiered his comic book, titled “Alvin Greene: The Ultimate Warrior,” and said a similarly-named documentary based on his life is currently in the works.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 9:39amI guess I take a slightly different perspective here. Whatever his motivation, real or potential deficiencies, lack of aplomb etc. I think we should honor the American tradition of effort and that success does not always reside in being a winner. Perhaps, in an odd sort of way some youngster will be given the impetus to try, to make a difference no matter how insignificant to others it may seem. I think that is part of the Amer(I CAN) spirit and soul. Thank you

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 9:54amsuccess does not always reside in being a winner ???? that is the very reason that kids (parents) now expect a trophy for “achieving” last place. rather, there are many lessons to be learned from failure…. success will be attained through hard work and application of lessons learned.

Report Post »I think in my apparent inept way, that is what I was trying to say. Success resides in making the effort to try—-it means you will never win if you give up and give in. Competition ( with self or others)is the life blood of improvement. Was it Thomas Edison who stated– paraphrasing–”I have not failed, but have found 10,000 ways on how not to do something” ., Never gving up, trying harder is a winner— is a successful motivation toward the completion of true accomplishment. I believe as you, awarding for empty effort or no effort does not provide for this.

Comparing this guy to Christine O’Donnell?? Wow that comparison really shows how much more intelligent the Republican party is. I would take Christine O’Donnell in a debate with this guy any day. Christine O’Donnell can discuss problems. This guy just stares and slobbers. Is that the best you have? Hilarious

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 9:20amHB — it’s not that Green could have some form of autism; the question is ‘what’s wrong the cognitive functions of 330,000 South Carolinians’?
I think for the most part we can be proud of fellow Americans…our brothers & sisters reached the right decisions in a good many political races yesterday…If we stay on focus and message, and force our new representatives, senators, governors, state legislators to bend to our will we can stop the Progressive Agenda in its tracks…and poor old Alvin? Well, I reckon he‘ll fade into obscurity as just another ’interesting also-ran’ fairly quickly.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 10:46amDemocrats won in some areas (Nevada, Calif, etc.) because they cheated (illegals voting, sending illegal letters to employees). I believe this is the only way they can win, which says a mountain full. I do hope the powers that be (conservatives) do something to investigate these frauds and show the American people just how evil and insane the progressive Democrats really are. If these new Republicans are smart, they will get their investigative arm around this current healthcare bill and tear it apart, limb by limb. It’s best to start with there. INVESTIGATE. Bravo to John Kasich in Ohio. Ted Strickland was a real clown here allowing Ohio, within 4 years of his term, to go downhill fast. He supported Obama and now he has paid the price. Bye, bye, Teddy. We are very happy to see you leave. Bravo to Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Florida. Conservatives have spoken, but that is not the end. We have a big uphill battle. Just because the House has a majority now of Republicans, doesn’t mean anything, if anything, will get thru the Senate. The Senate still hold the majority of Democrats. So, as I said, INVESTIGATE, INVESTIGATE, and INVESTIGATE until they evil-doers are revealed for what they really are. START THERE, REPUBLICANS! PLEASE START THERE and everything else will fall right into place.

I’ll give him this he made sense… Here in Carolina they do worthless prosecutions that cost alot of money. And they use less on the schools. What is wrong w/trying to correct that? I actually agree w/that idea. Maybe Mr. Mulvaney will remember his roots. I live in his home town. Now, that been said, Thanks for helping to take out the trash w/us. Next stop 1600 Penn.
