Guess Who Just Praised Rick Santorum by Comparing Him to Obama? Ed Schultz

First, before we get too far in this story, let’s point out that while Ed Schultz did praise Rick Santorum, he did temper it a little — first by making it clear that he (Schultz) is no conservative, and second, the praise was veiled in a comparison to President Obama.

Mediaite has the quote, which came as Schultz defended Santorum’s loss as in incumbent senator:

“I mean, there was a sea change that was coming. Nancy Pelosi was on the way with the gavel in her hand. I mean, he got wrapped up. There were four Senate seats that went down in 2006 that the Republicans should have won. It was Montana, John Tester. It was McCaskill in Missouri, it was Sherrod Brown in Ohio and it was, of course, Santorum. So he got kind of caught up in a whirlwind. Not that I’m a conservative in any way, stretch of the imagination, but having seen Santorum on the stump, he is as good as President Obama. I mean, he is a good retail politic guy. He gets in that crowd and those people are believing what he is saying. He’s got a very unique quality and he connects with people; he is not a bus stop kind of candidate. He gets in their face, answers their question, gets away from the bullet points and gets very explanatory. There are qualities about him that I think conservatives would really gravitate to.”

Yeah, you read the right. Now watch it:

Being compared to Obama may not seem like the greatest compliment. But considering that the comments were aimed at Santorum’s demeanor on the trail — something conservatives and liberals have recognized as an attribute of Obama’s — that’s still quite the comment coming from Schultz.

During that time, Santorum was every bit as much the poster boy for big government as the president, and if Obama and the Democrats now triple the size of government, that growth is constructed on top of the statist groundwork laid by their Republican predecessors. Throughout Bush’s debt doubling agenda—No Child Left Behind, Medicare Plan D, you name it—Santorum was fully on board. And for that entire period, the Republican Party was completely off course.”

The Media has been trying to run our lives for years… and only when Obama arrived on the scene [Marxist in the WH] did they stop the hypocrisy and come out openly with all the bias and lies and distortions. If you want to see one terrific journalist on the LEFT… look at Couric! She won some award for distorting and slamming Sarah Palin. The Dems knew they couldn’t win against her the old fashioned way—so they adopted the Chicago way.

PEOPLE: it‘s very possible bho’s camp registered as republicans to get into these caucuses to vote. you can do that on the day of and schultz’ glee over santorum tells you just that.

remember when bho won iowa. well, i went on to a bill maher site and queried, “maybe all those people didn’t vote for bho” inferring that bho stole that race. after all, “iowans are too white and evangelical,” according to andrea mitchell.

well, i was soon after banned from the site.

the point is, once you win in iowa americans start looking more closely at the winner and this gives them a “bump” in the poles. this is just what bho needed four years ago and this is just what he needs now which is to split republicans’ enthusiasm for one candidate. this way he’ll fair better going up against santorum — no question about it. WHY DO YOU THINK HE NEEDS A BILLION BUCKS?

you don’t think those people who caucus for three hours for bho will do that for free do you?
