Gunman Shoots Four Detroit Police Officers Inside Precinct

DETROIT (AP) — Detroit’s police chief says four officers including a commander were wounded when a gunman walked into a police precinct and opened fire.
Chief Ralph Godbee says the four do not have life threatening injuries, and it appears all of the officers will be OK.
The gunman opened fire in the Detroit precinct on Sunday. Officers returned fire, killing the man. Godbee says police have identified the man but just were starting their investigation and didn’t immediately release his name.
Godbee says the commander was shot in the back and was in critical condition. A female sergeant was shot in the chest, but was wearing a bulletproof vest.
Godbee says another officer was in temporary serious condition after being grazed in the head and a male sergeant also was grazed in the head.

DETROIT (WXYZ) – Action News sources say four Detroit police officers have been shot inside the Northwest District on the city’s west side. The district office is located near Warwick and Plymouth and houses both the 6th and 8th precincts.
We’re told a man walked into the lobby and opened fire with a shotgun during roll call at about 4:30 p.m. He was killed by police.AP
The conditions of the officers are not known. A source says one of the officers is a commander, one is a patrolman, another is a clerk and the fourth is a lien officer.
They were rushed to Sinai Grace Hospital.
Police sources tell Action News that the gunman walked into station just as any citizen can do. They say the shooter walked past the desk and fired down a hallway hitting a female sergeant in the chest. Sources say she was wearing a bulletproof vest and should be OK.
Police tell Action News that the gunman then shot a second officer in the side of the face and neck.
Sources say a precinct commander then grabbed the wounded sergeant’s gun and exchanged shots with the gunman. The commander was then shot in the back.
Next, the gunman jumped over a counter to attempt to shoot more officers. At that point, other officers opened fire, killing him.
A camera inside the precinct captured images of the shooting and sources who have seen that video say it is graphic.

You see, this is the result of the stress being applied to the government at all levels and on the economy by the current government. Do I directly blame the defacto president? YES because this is his plan to stress the country into collapse. These shootings are just the start of the hoped for crumbling of the country, leading into a collapse which will allow the progressive government to re-make us in their image….or at least force us into the same mold…as good little ‘proles.

I read stories like this one and I have to live with the fact that I am left defenseless everyday from those like it. Andi also have to live with the fact that none of the so-called defenders of the Constitution remain silent. I am at a loss to decide which makes me sadder or madder.

I suggest you get some folks together to push that point. The USSC already ruled, either elect some folks who will uphold the Constitution.
The political machine in Illinois (as I understand it) is known to be so corrupt that barring the people of Illinois banding together for real reform…it would take Federal troops to enforce the law.
With Obama & Holder & the rest of “The Chicago Way”, Rush, Beck, & the rest can only point the way…it is up to the folks of Illinois to carry the ball.

It isn’t the folks of Illinois, It is Chicago and the political machine. Look at the Governor’s race to see it. 102 Counties and he won 3 of them.
The Constitution flat guarantees certain things and that means the Federal government can act. What can we do at the state level when the Speaker of the House is backed up by his Daughter in the Attorney General’s office? They just refuse any legislation and that is it. Been going on for years. We need help here, seriously. I hammer this on forums all the time in hopes that others will realize – if it can be this way here, it can be this way where you live too……
About the only thing that will see change happen here is for the big spotlight to shine on what is going on. Local media won’t even ask the questions and if they even come close at election time, they are softballs and then ignored. Either the big voices will help us, or they will continue to ignore us. What does it say about them when they are willing to ignore something so blatant?

Clearly Illinois has a problem, the Court has ruled in favor of the people, & the Illinois machine is clearly ignoring the ruling & the law. Try filing a federal “contempt” complaint or something…as I said I‘m no legal expert but I’m sure there must be some recourse.
You might want to contact the NRA, they can’t/won’t act until someone with “standing” presents themself.

Then the Chicago Democrat Political machine kicks in. No Pistols in Chicago….Unless you are an alderman, the Mayor, or part of their families. They not only get to own pistols, but they get CC permits. We wouldn’t want to violate THEIR 2nd amendment rights would we?

Posted on January 23, 2011 at 9:58pmNRA has been here for years. I have contacted every Constitutional officer, my reps, the County Sheriff, and everyone else you can think of. I am far from alone n that front too. Complaints have been filed with the Attorney General and I even tried to go to her directly. She argued on the wrong side in both Heller and McDonald cases and now is committed to the Second Amendment ONLY existing WITHIN your own home. Interestingly, questions as to how a homeless person exercises their rights went unanswered. We have a governor currently who says, without reservation, he will veto ANY carrying legislation that would make it to his desk (though it doesn’t even a get a vote year after year after year).
Illinois stands alone where Citizens cannot carry at all and when asked directly of the NRA lobbyist – I was told that the NRA priority is on possible rifle bans as opposed to personal carry ban. Sad to say, the NRA pays a lot of lip service to Illinois. Indeed, they hampered the Chicago case and did untold damage to a case that really should have went well beyond firearms (privileges or immunities) than most people know.
The conservatives with the microphones are the only hope we have in Obamaland. And they are silent on this clear cut issue. I just cannot understand why. The only thing I can come up with is that they do not know. My solution? Relentlessly tag this issue wherever and whenever I can in hopes maybe one of them will finally take notice and say something on the air about it.

Thank goodness the perp was shot and killed before he could do more damage. Our soldiers, police officers, border guards and firemen put their lives on the line for us everyday, please keep them in your prayers. God bless America. I have a great deal of respect for police officers, but I am always aware of the fact that they are still “only human” & prone to frailty.

I have also found that you like to correct or rebuke many peoples comments with a slightly arrogant flavor. That is why I typically follow your comments and respond in a challenging way……..so others can see many of your errors in reasoning. Humility is a better approach. I am sure you have good thoughts of your own to contribute just try not to be so condescending in your response to other people and you gain much more respect !!!!

This isn’t political, or a terrorist, or caused by Hollywood. You can buy a house here for less then the trade-in on my car. It’s lawless in Detroit. What Detroit is now, is a result of decades of corrupt local politicians. Politicians that were elected and re-elected, because they share the same skin color of the majority of the residents of Detroit. We will get an answer of why, but it most likely will be a whitewash.
