QUETTA, Pakistan (AP) — Police say at least 10 gunmen have torched 29 NATO oil tankers in southwest Pakistan.
The attack early Saturday is one of several to hit the supply line for U.S. and NATO forces in neighboring Afghanistan since Pakistan closed a key border crossing on September 30. On Wednesday, militants torched 70 fuel tankers and killed a driver.
Deputy Commissioner Abdul Mateen says the latest attack was in Mithri town of southwestern Baluchistan province.

The last terrorist we put away said “The war with Muslims has only just begun.”
The biggest problem we face is that the entire Muslim world understands this FACT and the entire western world does not. I don’t know about any of you, but I have a pretty strict policy when it comes to people who want to kill me for whatever reason…..I want to kill them first.

Posted on October 10, 2010 at 2:32amBoth NATO and the US need to stop any and all funds to Pakistan immediately, resuming payments only when the Pakistani government decides to who they‘d rather have as ’allies’…the US OR the Taliban. They can’t have both.
If the Pakistani government is urging hostility by it’s citizens towards the US, they there isn’t anything we can do for your country. You cannot be both ‘friend’ and ‘enemy’. Choose.
America has been trying – and dying – for one reason…to allow Middle Eastern countries to know freedom and rights and a democracy of their choice. That’s it.
If Pakistan and Afghanistan decide that they’d rather depend on Iran or the Taliban or Al Quieda for their money and food and defense, then so be it. Americans can come home and America can send the NATO and the UN representatives to Iran and be done with it. The UN buildings will house many homeless Americans.
Do not question the America’s opinion on things, such as Mosques, when your countrymen continue their evil destruction of any and all humans. Be peaceful or leave. Don’t make the good, honest people from the Middle East face deportation from all countries because of the stupidity of your Middle Eastern leadership.
When your ‘god’ tells you it is good to kill, then he is not really a ‘god’. There is no ‘best’ race, religion or ‘leader’. There is no group of people that can play ‘god’ and decide who should live or who should die…although George Soros certainly tries). When the time is right, the true ‘God will return to earth. HE will decide…he will be the judge. All of the leaders on earth right now are just humans. How do I know that?
Every leader of every country sits on a toilet seat exactly the same way…you, too, George! They are all the same…with differnet beliefs. So be it. We will all wait for judgement day together.

The cost of higher education rose with government financing college for everybody. That means a dumb jerk can get a degree and go to corporate and be a dumb jerk. And we wonder why it’s all falling apart. Once upon a time there where charities that helped the poor with good marks go to college. They were called scholarships. Either stop government financing or require some scoolastic aptitude and watch the cost of higher education fall.
Local education. Every shcool seems to need a football field and Auditorium. This is the major cost of building and maintaining schools. Why not locate these big ticket items centrally(community center). Maybe locate a building for group meetings to practice plays and for science labs there too. Then just put the classrooms every so many blocks so kids can walk to school(with crossing guards), and with the same busing system for going to and from the community center.
End Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. People that can’t afford houses should be tenants.
Rearrange the hanger on from the war on poverty now called Community Reinvestment Act to do things the way Saul Alinksy wanted it done. He said a community should first put a community association together self sustained funding from local business and/or church community. This association should then select the projects they wanted to do with funding. Instead the fed state and local government picked projects they wanted done and left the community out of the picture.
Oops thats four. Sorry, but I have more.

Posted on October 9, 2010 at 11:51amJust some crazy, half thought ideas off of the top of my head – please respond in kind. Why don’t we, as America, “retrench”. Let’s focus on OUR abilities to support US. We have all of the resources here to feed, warm, fuel our cars, etc. HERE. Do we REALLY need to fight the world’s battles?? We have been doing it for generations, with little to no gratitude, or compensation. We have been accused of being the world’s BULLY. We are pouring an unending supply of our hard earned dollars into petty playground squabbles in a world that will never accept us.
Report Post »RETRENCH.
Pull out ALL of our military. EVERYWHERE. NOW.
Start drilling. Stop subsidizing farmers for NOT growing. Turn our entrepreneurial engines on HIGH. Get our country completely secured – develop technology that would protect us against any incoming warfare. Develop technology that would destroy any nuclear initiative anywhere on the planet. “Star Wars,” anyone??
We don’t need French wine – we have some of the best. We don’t need German technology – we have some of the best. We don’t need many “fancy” things, we have all we need here. TAKE OUR BALL AND GO HOME. Pull a MAJOR John Galt. Let the world descend into chaos, while we put OUR house back in order. When everything crumbles, we will once again be the “shining city on the hill”. The world should come to us, hat in hand, and ASK for our help. We will help, because that is who we are as Americans. BUT there MUST be due compensation for our help and effort.
“De Couple” from the world, and the mess. Let us put ourselves back together and become, once again, a nation of principles, integrity and honor. WE choose whom we conduct business with – on OUR terms. If the world doesn’t like it – tough nuts. We have become a “Doormat” for the rest of the world, and I am personally tired of it.
We, as a nation, can be COMPLETELY self – sufficient – isn’t that our greatest hope for our children? Shouldn’t we should apply it to ourselves first?
I know this sounds crazy, and it may be. Isolationism can be a dirty word, but, as I said at the beginning, these are some half – baked thoughts born of frustration in our current situation.
Please respond in kind. Thanks for the opportunity to vent!!!

I have seen about seven patent applications that could work for breaking water on board a car for use as fuel. At one time in my life the head of Phillips in the US told me that when the saw a viable patent they would ramp up for immediate production while sending out a letter to the patent holder for the right to produce. He said the worst case a judge would see they had tried to negotiate and simply use the court for getting to a royalty agreement. In short anyone could review these documents and go into production if it was viable. There is no reason that the government could not use national security as a legitimate excuse to order it done.

Posted on October 9, 2010 at 12:47pmLets say it costs a hospital, doctor or lab $100 for some service. All these outfits must pay their employees within fourteen days but don‘t know if it will take a year to get paid and don’t know if it will get paid in full, so they add $20 in case it gets cut 20% and $12 interest and $20 for the cost of tracking it for a year. Actually hospitals pay a third party called a M.A.R.C.(Medical Accounts Receivable Corporation). So now our $100 is now $152.
It easy to see that the healthcare could be cut by 30% just by requiring insurers pay immediately. As a programmer I know I could set up a system to control this in a matter of months with built in fraud protection. We would no longer have a health care problem.

Posted on October 9, 2010 at 1:15pmI think you may have a point to an extent. We can’t go totally isolationist as there are raw materials we need that are not in the U.S. (chromium (none) and not enough oil to meet need), but we could, at considerable expense, reduce our “footprint” on the world. For example, we could reduce the troop levels to security force levels at our bases in Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain, Bahrain and others and then listen to those countries hollar about the reduced income to their communities. This happened in Norfolk, VA during the blockade of Cuba where almost every ship was at sea. A person could almost go bowling on the streets and not hit much of anything.
We could tell our Secretary of State to not get involved with any country except to protect our citizens. We could stop taking sides in any conflict and tell the countries involved to deal with it. Let’s see what Europe has to say about that. Further, we stop all foreign aid for at least one year. Aid in cases of natural disasters will be at the level of other countries and consist of mostly delivering supplies and leaving (again like most countries do). Problems with terrorists would be handled by the Navy and Air Force, primarily from the air.
I’m sure there are many other things this country does that, if stopped, would result in unexpected problems that which few realize we were involved. It is about time we got the world’s attention. Ann Landers, an advice columnist, once said, “To be a doormat, first you have to lay down”.

One thing is for sure, we are not fighting to win, never have been. That being the case, it is immoral to place our people in “harm’s way” without a clear objective and plan to win, if such is even possible. Furthermore, liberals hate the military, have little or no respect for them and consider them as nothing more than pawns in their political gambits. Bush wimped out to a certain degree, being overly concerned about “collateral-damage” instead of killing bad guys. And it seems to me that the Obama Administration is concerned ONLY about that, nothing else. It is DISGRACEFUL!

Beyond this when a prophet was sent out to cities to tell the people how to live and the prophets were thrown out because the town did not want to change from corruption to morality, they were told to stand on the wall and tell the people that if they did not change their ways, 3 generations would watch it’s demise and in the fourth it would be extinct. The being that gave these prophets those words was a sociologist.
We must end the corruption within our wall. We must not do trade with the corrupt. We must become self sufficient within the wall. We must ostracize the corrupt. Ignore them until they collapse of their own corruption.
We are at war not understanding what were waring with, so we get chaos. We must understand that we are at war with a religion that says we all must be subjugated to the god of the rule of the prophet that broke all the old testement commandments. We are at war with the socialist, communist(Marxist,Leninist), Fabian and all that believe that the individual should be subject to the state without the consent of the governed. We must bring back adherence to the constitutional law that protects the individual from the tyranny of the state and bring back government of the people by the people and for the people.

Posted on October 9, 2010 at 10:26amIn the last 9 years, the US has given $18Billion dollars in military and economic aid to Pakistan. It’s not exactly their money.
On the one hand, here are some non-isolated concepts. Pakistan definitely has nuclear weapons. Bin laden is still believed to be hiding out in Pakistan. Pakistan is an overwhelmingly Muslim country. The military is controlled by muslims, and they are generally considered to be more fundamentalist than the muslims in the government. Few in the military want to fight Al Quaeda or the Taliban because many in the military are sympathizers with those groups. Both the government and the miliary know it pays handsomely to be an ally of the US. Pakistan has just seen the worst floods in recent history, affecting over 20% of the land. The people of Pakistan are generally not rich. The potential of Pakistan becoming rapidly destabilized increases as the drone attacks increase and helicopters open fire on remote outposts, as the general population, already unhappy with the slow government response in providing flood relief, becomes unhappier with the perception that the government is just a puppet of the US.
While on the surface, the drone attacks seem like a good idea (surgical strike, no allied casualties), these and other incursions could end up propelling a military coup by very fundamentalist elements, who would love to have unimpeded access to the country’s nuclear arsenal.
So as much as you or I or anyone else would love to see Bin Laden eviscerated and staked out on an anthill, we may unwittingly be playing into his hands by setting the stage for things worse.

Posted on October 9, 2010 at 1:41pmThe last thing anyone would ever want to see is another world war. When we used nuclear weapons in WWII, that necessary decision saved possibly millions of lives but caused many deaths. Bottom line..it brought the war to an end. Tyrants of the world only recognizes the strength of a people by their ability and ‘willingness’ to fight with overwhelming force and total resolve. The catch22 now is, that many nations have those weapons and would use them. So we find our self in a world-wide standoff. Who will use nukes and who will retaliate with them? A standoff such as this will only propagate smaller conflicts and encourage radical insurgencies. It’s only a matter of time until one of these conflicts will escalate. If America is attacked with nukes, will we find the resolve to do what’s necessary and not be restrained by cries from “anti-war zealots’ about collateral damage or civilian loss of live? Or will we allow ourselves to “absorb the hit” as our Commander-n-thief has said? Overwhelming force is the only way to fight and the resolve to use that force is the only way to avoid a fight. Build the missile defense shield and all other skirmishes should be avoided. …rf

I wonder if there might be a winter time offensive about to take place like the battle of the bulge in WWII where everyone said it to be impossible for an offensive through the ardens to occur – seems back then they forgot to tell that to the germans both at the bulge and at the battle of france at the start of the war.
