Hacked AARP Twitter Account Sends ‘Shout Out’ to Deceased Rapper Biggie Smalls

Typically, when The Blaze reports on any of the numerous hacking incidents that have transpired in recent months, the results have been nothing short of serious. This time, the hacking took a humorous turn as the official AARP Twitter account was compromised. On the anniversary Friday of rapper Biggie Smalls death, a hacker posted “We miss you, Biggie.”

As of Friday afternoon the tweet was still live on the AARP twitter account:

Hacked AARP Twitter Account Sends Tribute to Biggie Smalls

In keeping with the current string of random Tweets — The Windsor Star reports that a fake twitter message was sent to a top cardinal Thursday announcing the death of the pope, a claim immediately denied by the Vatican spokesman.

The Star explains:

The message, in Italian, said to have been tweeted by Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, secretary of state and the number two at the Vatican, appeared at around 7 p.m. announcing: “The Holy Father unexpectedly passed away this afternoon. We announce this with grief and consternation.”

It was followed by similar tweets in Spanish, English and French.

Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi immediately denied the reports, terming them “baseless” and “unworthy of attention”.

Pope Benedict XVI will turn 85 in April.

I don’t really understand all the hate for Biggie? He’s been dead a while now.

Poor Biggie. I don‘t think there’s enough relay towers to get those tweets to hell.

Is there any evidence that it was actually hacked? Sounds to me like the AARP just has a lot of Biggie fans.

I wasn’t hacked. Just think, if Biggie was alive today, he may be a member. When someone is young and talks nonsensically and wears his pants low with his butt out, he is hip. When you do that when your an AARP member, they say you have Alzeihmers and they make you put on a belt.

Tweeting is for twits. I choose not to twit. Play as you will. Too many people trusting (and caring about) media that amounts to drive-by verbal purges. And I also don’t miss Biggie.
