Hacker Group Anonymous Takes Down the Vaticans Web SiteInfamous hacking group Anonymous is continuing its war on religion. Just days ago, some of the individuals behind the secretive group called religion a “sickness” and took over the web sites of three Christian churches in North Carolina.

On Wednesday, the organization continued its quest and took down the Vatican’s web site — just one day after some of its leaders were arrested in a highly-publicized bust.

The New York Post has more about the latest faith attack on the Catholic Church:

“Anonymous decided today to besiege your site in response to the doctrine, to the liturgies, to the absurd and anachronistic concepts that your for-profit organization spreads around the world,” the hackers said in a statement.

“This attack is not against the Christian religion or the faithful around the world but against the corrupt Roman Apostolic Church,” said the statement, posted on the Italian-language version of the Anonymous website.

Anonymous tried and failed to attack the Vatican website last year.

Reuters continues:

The Vatican website www.vatican.va was inaccessible. A spokesman said he could not confirm that the crash was the work of the hackers group but said technicians were working to bring it back up.

A statement on the Italian website of the loosely-knit cyber-activists group accused the Church of being responsible for a long list of misdeeds throughout history, including the selling of indulgences in the 16th century and burning heretics during the Inquisition.

This explanation from the hackers is particularly interesting, because it claims that this specific attack is “not against the Christian religion.” This is at least the fourth attack to be waged on a Christian web site, causing some to wonder if this is a war that is more centered upon Christianity than any other faith.

It is also important to note, though, that Anonymous also took credit on Sunday for taking down the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) web site. The group also issued a video calling the pro-Israel organization the “enemy” (see above).

As of 1 p.m. ET, the Vatican web site was still down.

    Why are they not taking down the WestBoro Baptist site?
    Or any of the wild wild west Muslim sites that push out the Daniel Perl’ish videos.
    We all know who these people are and who’s behind them.

    Plenty wrong with the Catholic church lately…they do however run 1 in 4 U.S. hospitals mostly at a break even or loss. They said they‘ll close everyone of them before adhering to Barry’s ******* policy.

      This GENERATION is perverse and evil and is under Satan’s influence. Parents, you need to KNOW WHAT YOUR KIDS ARE DOING ON THE PC. Also, you need to tell the older ones what you think about what they are doing, even if they never speak to you again.

      It’s time to GO BACKWARDS to before technology. I MAIL MY BILLS and do not use the Internet to pay ANYTHING. It is all tracked for a reason. If you do not know that reason, then you deserve what’s coming. I use a security tor-type program that prevents anyone from knowing my IP address.       So funny to watch religionists squirm when they realize that their faith is the counterpoint to technological progress. Of course the internet will ultimately cause the end of religion, all it takes to irrevocably damage the credibility of the bible is a few quick google searches these days. Religionists hate the spread of free information because that knowledge happens to be the cure for the theistic sickness.

I’m pretty sure that the press arrived on the scene at a time when religion still dominated the rhetoric of the day, fortunately for all of us the internet did not.

      Anonymous wasn’t claiming to move against Christianity (as you are doing) for the advancement of technology or any other reason. Their claim is that the Vatican is guilty of wrongdoing, and Anonymous has taken up the burden of exacting justice.

      Regarding the advancement of technology and Christianity – take a look at the faith of Isaac Newton, Georges Lemaître, Michael Faraday, Louis Pasteur, Sir Francis Bacon, Nicholas Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, Rene Descartes, and MANY others who are responsible for the entire discipline of science.

      Many people thought that free access to information (including the written word) would effectively end organized religion. At the time, religion was dictated to the masses by a few and the idea that lowly peasants would have access not only to religious volumes but also to historical and philosophical volumes was heralded as the death-knell for religion. And, indeed, the printing press was the single most revolutionary event leading to the protestant reformation.

      But it didn’t end religion any more than the internet is going to end religion. It only served to spread the word to more people and with more clarity…just like the internet. It certainly changed how people viewed religion and how people interacted with their faith, as the internet surely has also.

      And until your great leader is able to get his Godless commie minions to censor religion out of the internet, there is plenty of religious material printed there also.

      So please, I implore you, just think for one second about your position that the internet will suddenly make the poor, ignorant masses realize that there is no God. You will surely conclude quite the opposite.

      I certainly agree that Babylon is symbolic, and in more ways than we can get into here. I also believe that the 7 hills have other meanings, as I am not one to limit the masterful weaving of truth into beautiful tapestries which our God has a knack for.

      God called those who abandoned Him in the OT “harlots”. Even that is symbolic, of course. But that doesn’t detract that it began with real events, which paint a picture for the rest of us. Everything we understand only approximates the truth as we will know it once we cross over the veil, and really, it is just glimmers of that.

      So, use other scripture to test the spirits. Do you really think all nations are controlled by the Catholic church as they are with the Whore? Do you really think the Catholic Church teaches against Christ? Last I checked, they hold Him very dear, as both the Son of God and God Himself.

      Do I think there has ever been a time in history that the Catholic Church ran amuck? Certainly, and like all institutions, continue to battle the enemy from within. But they bring people to Christ, and aside from the fact that I have a few different interpretations, I will not agree to condemn them, and I think it is against Christ to do so, as we are supposed to be drawing near each other at this dark moment in history.

      The church has over the centuries always had much control over the nations. They have killed many over hundreds of years during the Catholic Inquisition and during those dark Middle Ages incured a heavy bloodguilt by persecuting those who translated, read or even owned a bible. People like John Hus and William Tyndale, Waldo, and Wycliffe were martyred and burned at the stake for so-called heretics.
      Also the many false teachings like infant baptism, idolatry, transubstantiation, the Trinity and hell fire just to name a few.

      The goddess was called at one point (she went by numerous names including Astarte, Asherah), “Queen of Heaven” spoken of in Jeremiah. Her cohort, oft times Baal, Moloch, etc took the lives of children through offerings. He represents Satan, and “she” represents the world, and man’s desire to quench the flesh in the world. And these forces are presented differently throughout history and throughout the Bible. It was for her that Temple prostitutes made their way into the Temple during the reign of some of the kings, and God said they were “whoring after other gods”. That takes on both actual and metaphoric meaning.

      The fable is that she was in love with the storm/Sun/Saturn god. He was cast out and bound in Hell. She gave herself willing in his place (though Satan in reality will carry the punishment for the sins of the whole world in addition to his own), but the fable goes like this. She travelled through 7 veils (passageways), to release him from Hades, but he tricked her and left her there in his stead, while he escaped. (That is the myth and storyline that the Father of Lies would like- but there is no rescue for him).

      In reality, mankind has been saved (If we accept it) through Christ. But Satan still wants to fill Hell with our souls.

      The Roman Catholic Church ≠ God. The vatican has no right to act to as a spirtual authority for any deity.

      If you honestly believe that good beats evil, you might want to tell that to the pedophile priests that the Church is protecting and their victims.       The laws branding the nasty priests as pedophiles are religious in nature. In fact, what is right and what is wrong comes from religion. Otherwise, whatever you can get away with is right. Unfortunately humans are weak an sinful things. Nothing in Catholicism says the pedophile priests are good or justified. The Vatican should drop the hammer on them, but it is hard for heretics to punish other heretics.

    How to strengthen the resolve of ALL Catholics and other Christian religions AGAINST those who wish to deny the rights of religious freedom?? Just keep doing what they are now doing!!

    Heh Heh!!! ….Just like with the Japanese Admiral Yamoto feared and was quoted for; “I fear we have indeed succeeded in doing nothing more than awaken a very huge sleeping giant and filled it with a great resolve!

    Obzocommie was warned not to travel down this path but refused to listen and is now already paying the fiddler. Best part of this is “Anymouse” will also be identified WITH him and only aggravate the situation even more!!

    I am not Catholic but met with a local Catholic Diocese regarding a mutually involved veterans project we wish to work on together. This subject came up during informal discussions and I was assuring them that many more non Catholics, like myself, would stand shoulder to shoulder with them. I expressed my hopes they would NOT give up or give in on this struggle.

    I was assured, they are in it for the long haul all the way thru November and beyond if necessary!!

    First rule of thumb for non-believers, liberals and anti-Christians – - – -Do NOT mess with out GOD or those who believe in Him and the Trinity!! If nothing else, view it as “Karma”, bad luck or poor decisions – YOUR CHOICE!!

      True that KAPNKD. We just need to pray for them. The athiest‘s mama’s didn’t abort them and they have the precious gift of life. As Ann Graham Lotz once said, “God is a gentleman”. God is not going to force himself on a person. He has given us another gift called free will, which Anonymous are freely exercising.

      It just makes me sad that the (Athiests, non-theists, agnostics) are “blinded” of the fact that an “intelligent designer” just wants to have a relationship with them and that’s why He gave them life.

      I‘m sure the show uses that symbol but only someone who really doesn’t know about chemistry would refer to a bohr model of an atom as a show logo (even if it’s the exact same image).
