    Exploited? After we put hundreds of people to work worldwide mining, drilling and developing rescources that the native populations wouldn’t have had the knowledge to develop. The saqlaries provided food, medications and health services (Many times paid for by the companies developing the properties), and a standard of living which in many cases took them from the hunter – gatherer lifestyle they originally had to a modern lifestyle.

    Idiots like this are to be totally ignored. That is of course, not by BHO, who believes every word of this verbal refuse.

    Just a few simple facts. I was there and saw with my own eyes. Jordan a few years back had a secret project to divert the flow of the Jordan river away from Israel. That would effectively leave Israel with no source of fresh water. The project started after the following occurred. Diversion of the Jordan River was one of causes of the next conflict, the 1967 Six Day Arab-Israeli War. In 1964 Israel opened the National Water Carrier and began diverting 320 mcm/yr from the Jordan, while Jordan was continuing its East Ghor Project.(19) This led to the First Arab Summit of 1964 which started plans to divert the Jordan headwaters to Arab states. In 1965, the Arab States started construction on the Headwater Diversion Plan; diverting the Hasbani into the Litani in Lebanon, and the Banias into the Yarmuk to be caught for Jordan and Syria at a dam at Mukheiba. This diversion would have been a loss of 123 mcm/yr, or 35 per cent of Israel s water diversion, and would have caused the salinity rate to increase in Lake Kinneret. Emotions intensified, and Israel stated that it would fight for its waters.(20) Four times between 1965 and 1967 the Israeli army attacked the diversion construction in Syria, and these border skirmishes led to air battles twice. In June of 1967, Israel destroyed the Arab diversion construction and in six days captured the Golan Heights, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and the Sinai Peninsula.

      our government exploited lots of governments. Given the nature of man, when one discovers they are being used, they tend to harbor feelings of hate and restitution.

      All this mess could have been avoided if only our president (and past presidents) followed constitutionally sound foreign policy.
      This can basically be broken down to the golden rule….‘treat others as you want to be treated yourself’.

    Israel has nuclear weapons. Whatever happens, the extremists know that unless they unleash a devastating first strike, there will be retaliation from Israel that will make the region a hole in the ground. Does this allay your fears and concerns? Well, then would you say it’s time something is done to preempt religious extremist from starting the world down the road to world war 3? Is there a secret agreement between the U.S. and Israel for the U.S. to come to the aid of Israel if it’s attacked with weapons of mass destruction? Even if there is, both governments would probably deny it. Because there are fools who have been taught from childhood that Israelis must be destroyed and there are rewards for those who die in this holy endeavor, how long will it be before several of these people carry some sort of weapon of mass destruction into Israel or its perceived supporters, protectors, friends?

      The problem with that is now Israel, who Iwould think is close to striking Iran and other targets got thrown under the bus by Obama. Without the support of the US, Israel would be taking a much larger chance with a preemptive strike.

      Gee, Obama knows that. I think his whole reason behind his speech, other than his distain for Israel, was to give them pause concerning a first strike.

      However, Israel realizes it’s existance is at risk here and I would guess they will soon take out Iran and some other trouble spots. They are pretty pwerful and no one to mess with.

Some will argue that it’s now too pervasive; people will take the initiative on their own to commit religious terrorist acts. No doubt.       Last I looked, hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars flow through free open markets into the coffers of states from which we BUY resources – after having invested billions of public and private funds used to develop the resources in the first place and after the U.S. having spent more billions and sacrificing thousands of soldiers’ lives in their defense.

      There is no sating these people. They are like young adult American children who call up asking for more money all the time – when they present the question asking for more money: “I need money, Dad.” How much do you need? “How much do you have…..?”

      Now that is something! I listen and I know this guy will never be happy no matter what without the total distruction of both Israel and the United States. Since Obama has been in office we have seen the Middle East explode and not in a distructive way either. We are seeing something being built that couldn‘t and would’nt be built under a strong leader of the United States. Because Obama will not support Israel that has opened the flood gates to the building of the anti-Israel stucture in all these countries to quickly establish themselves before we can change our President. Look for Obama to abide time to allow these countries to establish in the Muslim Brotherhood that then it won’t matter who we have as a President. They have a goal that is the distruction of Israel first. They will never be able to distroy the US, but want us to get out of the way and not support Israel. Folks the damage has been done and cemented with Obama’s speach yesterday. Events will not turn around now I fear. Obama is not a Christian and the Progressives have done so much damage here in the United States, (I am including Clinton and the both Bushes) that we have to deal with that damage first before being effective in helping Israel. Under Arafat and now with the wedding of Fatah and Hamas their governmental systems are in every facet a clear present and malevolent threat to ever Arab Christian, Israeli, Jew, and all of the secular west. If there ever is a Muslim reformation, it will be at the cost of all Jewish, Christian, and secular blood. With regard to exploiting Arab resources, the record shows that the oil producing countries formed a cartel to fix the price of oil. The west does nothing but pay through the nose. It is Arab and Muslim co-religionists that are exploiting their own and not the west. The chasm between the facts and the propaganda spewed by this Palestinian activist will unfortunately never be closed with reason and rational discussion. What strikes me as so bizarre is that many of the Western Left are of Jewish heritage and for whatever reason they feel no affinity to their fellow Jews or admit to the true smothering cultural chauvinism of an Islamic society, which philosophically is contrary to their stated aims.

      Free trade is not exploitation of another country’s resources, though it is wrong for a company in one country to own resources in another (which is happening now, and shouldn’t, granted).

      Companies in their respective countries should reverse engineer everything they trade with those in other countries (and indeed among fellow citizens) in order to reduce the cost of production for their own economy’s benefit.

      There’s no such thing as a global economy – only global free trade between individual citizens of their respective countries (at least when those citizens‘ governments don’t get in the way of commerce).
