Hank Williams Jr. Records New Song Blasting Fox and ESPN – Is This Behind-the-Scenes Video?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (The Blaze/AP) — Hank Williams Jr. is about to have his say.
Williams’ has cut a new song “I’ll Keep My …,“ calling out ”Fox & Friends“ and ESPN after an interview last week on the Fox News talk show led to the end of his association with the sports network and ”Monday Night Football,“ long home to his ”Are you ready for some football?” theme.
(Related: See the original comments as well as The Blaze’s complete coverage of the controversy)
He’s also scheduled to appear on “The View” and “Hannity” on Tuesday to discuss the uproar that sprung up after he made an analogy that President Barack Obama and House Speaker Rep. John Boehner golfing together was like Nazi leader Adolph Hitler and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu playing a round.
“Whoopi and Joy understood what I was saying,” Williams writes. “After watching the clip of their show, I knew I needed to talk to them first. Who knows Whoopi may run for President and I’ll be her Vice President…now that will really stir it up!”
A YouTube video posted on Williams’s website teases a “big announcement,” and appears to show behind-the-scenes footage of the new track:
ESPN decided to pull Williams‘ intro from last Monday’s “MNF” telecast after the comments and the move became permanent Thursday when both sides said they’d decided to pull the spot.
Williams wrote the topical third verse of “I’ll Keep My …” when he woke up Friday morning and he and a group of players laid it down in a Nashville studio by Friday afternoon. It could be on iTunes late Monday or early Tuesday.
In the song Williams, son of country music icon Hank Williams, says “Fox & Friends” hosts twisted his words: “So Fox `n Friends wanna put me down/Ask for my opinion/Twist it all around.” He finishes the verse: “Well two can play that gotcha game you’ll see.”
Early in the song, he says the U.S. is “going down the drain” and says it’s becoming “The United Socialist States of America.“ He mentions keeping ”Fox & Friends” and ESPN out of your home toward the end of the song.
Williams’ comments last Monday drew unlikely reactions with many commentators and comedians coming to his defense, claiming ESPN was infringing on his right to free speech. His defenders included the left-leaning Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar of “The View” and Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show” and on the other side of the political landscape Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh.
The brouhaha prompted Williams also to start selling “Hank Jr. for President” T-shirts on his website.
Williams’ theme song has been part of “MNF” since 1989. The song was a version of his hit “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight” that he altered to match each week’s game. He owns the song and all the rights to it, so ESPN will not be able to use it in any way.
Instead, the network says it will use an intro featuring Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders and soul singer Jimmy Scott prior to the Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions game Monday night. The introduction will change each week.

Come on Hank, let it go. Don’t make an ass out of yourself…Whoopie? Really?
I am one of Hank’s biggest fans, I have been to several concerts and have every album up to 5-0. He kind of lost me in the late 80s when he went into superstar party mode, but his early work is the greatest music ever made. I also applaud him for his Fox and Friends interview, he appeared half drunk but whatever, he spoke his mind and I agree with what he said.
But this is going too far. He was in the right, it changed a lot of people’s opinion of FNC and ESPN, but now he is going to put himself in a negative light. Just move on Hank, you have more money and fame than anyone deserves, you don’t need them.

This weekend Santorum was on Fox News being interviewed by Chris Wallace and Wallace made Santorum agree with a white supremist quote before telling him the source. Gotcha Question. Then Santorum had to fight to defend DADT.
Interesting enough in the same interview attacked Cain and said he wasn’t a non-politican, he was a failed-politician… because he ran for Senate and couldn’t even get the GOP nomination: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2011/oct/santorum_after_rivals.html

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 12:49pmIt’s crazy, Texanpatriot!! I have been watching GBTV in the morning now, but before GBTV was already becoming a bit disgruntled about Fox and Friends, a show I have watched for at least 10 years, when they interviewed some avowed Marxist. I sent them an email about it and a few days later is when the Hank episode happened in which case I immediately sent an email to Gretchen saying I was disavowing Fox and Friends after all these years.
I know Fox likes to say “Fair & Balanced” but there is nothing I need to hear from avowed Marxists except that they are changing their ways to freedom and liberty…otherwise it‘s sedition and I’m not listening to anything except their name.
I noticed that there is nothing any news show airs that I haven’t already read or will read on various news websites later that day. I no longer have a TV news station that I mildly trust or watch, and that is the way I am going for now on.

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 12:55pmI have little use for Fox News anymore. I was their biggest fan for many years, but then I just got to where I couldn‘t stomach O’Reilly’s arrogance which is not inline with his abilities, and that moron Geraldo and his mismanagement of time/breaks and his goofy 2-finger kiss off.
And Brian Killmeade’s holier-than-thou reaction to Hank was nauseating. Oh yes, and then there’s “Top O‘ The Mornin’” Gretchen. Is she Irish?…what’s that all about? And did you know she was a beauty queen? Well, if you’ve watched the show more than twice you know, because she works it into the conversation every other day.
It’s too bad, Ailes had a good thing going there for awhile.

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 1:01pmAgree with TROLL – Move on, Hank – by doing this, just aggravates ppl’s opinions about him, even after agreeing with him – like me. I read recently where Roger Ailes has told the Fox ppl to “tone it down” — which I had been noticing already and that confirmed it. He wants them to appear to be even “more balanced” by giving more time to the lefties, etc. The only one I think is truly Conservative & not afraid to speak up is Hannity & even he bothers me many times by having too many lefties on – both his radio and TV program. I also don’t like “The Five”. The “Consvs.“ seem to be ”moderates”. It’s bothering more and more ppl – we’ll see if it makes any difference.

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 1:34pmThe best program on TV runs opposite Bill O’Reilly! I switch to Fox Business News. You’ll find them “more conservative” and Judge Andrew Napolitano has “Freedom Watch” there. I get the news of the day and learn about the Constitution! What a deal.
I just don‘t agree with O’Reilly on a lot of things, was disappointed in his sex-talk-phone-recording, police scaldal asking them to investigate his wife and such. I don’t blame his wife for leaving him — that phone sex was the same as cheating.
Much more happy on Fox Business News and with Judge Napolitano!

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 2:03pmNo longer cracked up at Fox in general. Have a much more negative perspective for Chris Wallace and Megan Kelly. Wallace has since proven he is nothing more than a leftist “hack”. Moreover, was it happen stance Megan Kelly asked Santorem about gays in the military? That was a complete set-up, either by Kelly or the powers that be in Fox. And a blind man could clearly see that Wallace and Kelly‘s goal was to destroy Perry’s political momentum. And they did.
I’m disappointed in Fox and Friends. Huge fan for more than a decade. I watched F&F that morning and was very disappointed that all three failed to see what Bocephus’ analogy and what he intended with his statement. Still, I will continue to watch. Positives outweigh the negatives. Kudos to Brett Baer (Hi Brett!) Krauthammer and Denny Miller.
BTW – I thought almost the same thing Hank Williams thought: i.e. What in the hell is Boehner doing on the golf course with a radical communist? Indeed, the only aspect preventing BHO from becoming a dictator is Farmer Johnson’s 12-gauge in the bedroom closet. Indeed, Boehner‘s golfing wasn’t “politics” but in the larger sense, naivete. The republican establishment – even after all this time – still hasn‘t a clue who they’re dealing with when it comes to the Marxist left and the POTUS. To understand who and what this guy is… simply look at his pastor. They’re one in the same. Boehner will be money ahead if he goes into negotiations with that in mind.

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 12:42pmDoug – a – hole has got it right. Hank is a man who thinks verses a society who doesn’t want us to think anymore, near as much as just listen to those who feed us information. Any “self thinker” out there can think on Hanks comment and understand he was using a metaphor. Do they even teach the new generations what these are? He was comparing two opposites ends of the spectrum being presented to the public as something other than on opposite ends. Hank is not a political man. It would seem he tried to use something of a political nature to do his comparison. Actually as a metaphor is was a good one. You can’t get much more opposite than Hitler and the nation of Israel. This has been blown way out of proportion.

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 12:53pmOh but they did twist it a bit by their comments at the end. They made it sound like he did compare Obama to Hitler and we all know he did not. It was an analogy of how opposite the 2 camps are. Their reaction fueled the commentary of the day. It was not an accurate response. What they should have done was a follow-up question like…..Are you comparing Obama with Hitler. They failed to do their job.

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 12:03pmPersonally I think Hank was misunderstood and I think the story was spun a tad against him.In my own veiw he did not call our President Hitler. He did not call John Boehner Benjamin Netanayah. It is obvious that our President and Boehner don’t agree on many things, and given how the two of them are presented to us the nation they do not seem to agree on most things. If you could imagine two individuals on a golf course, those being Hitler and Netanayah golfing together in a congenial manner and as if they actually may hold some of the same values and views then you can find the irony in Hanks comment. Political correctness again takes its toll and degrades another in our country, I think in an unfair manner.

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 12:03pmI am a huge Bocephus and Fox and Friends fan!!! Hank has a right to be judged by his opinion and him losing the MNF gig is a private / corporate matter that has nothing to do with the governments so… It is what it is!!!!! ESPN will pay a very small price for their decision and Hank will lose some easy money but Hank does not need ESPN to make a living.. He is a Country Music and pop culture Icon that easily eclipses his fathers success!!! Fox and Friends will have to endure the Hank backlash as he seeks a little revenge for leaving him flapping in the wind!!! Whoopie and “ all her commie friends” are enjoying this one for sure!!! Oh and Hank… Water and Oil would be a better comparison but you get the idea. I cant wait to hear the song!!!

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 11:54amSince this site has chosen to ignore Sarah Palin ever since she said no to running….
I submit a video you should watch. It is Sarah Palin’s speech on Friday night. This is what I consider to be one of, if not the best, speech that Sarah Palin has ever given… especially after her saying no to running for the Presidency last week.
Question… after you watch it, do you really think any of the Republican candidates could or would be able to make a similar speech? That is why she is not running. She has a more important mission…. to attack the entire corrupt political system and to promote Conservative principles.
