Hannity Confronts Ed Klein for Calling Him a Right Wing Crazy in Audio Interview With Rev. WrightFour years after his fiery sermons first made their way into American homes, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright is still making headlines. On Thursday, The Blaze covered exclusive tapes of author Ed Klein’s interview with Wright for his new book “The Amateur.”

Following this coverage, Fox News’ Sean Hannity had Klein on his show, once again, to discuss the intriguing interview. Of note, the television host questioned Klein about some disparaging words he uttered about Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck during his dialogue with Wright.

Following the release of individual clips, The Blaze secured the full three-hour audio of Klein’s discussion with the preacher. In a portion of it, Klein can be heard making some disparaging comments about conservative commentators (Hannity played this as well while confronting Klein on last night’s show).

“The rightwing crazies like O’Reilly, Hannity, Glenn Beck — I could name a thousand of them — accuse Barack Obama of, quote — and I’m just quoting them now — of having, quote, sat in Trinity United Church for 20 years listening to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. And how could he have done that without being, quote, infected with — and I’m quoting now — because I don’t believe this. I want you to understand that — with his, the Reverend’s anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-, you know, basically, anti-white point of view? [...]

I’ve spoken to a lot of other people at great lengths about the ignorance of — and I’m not anti-white, by the way — but the ignorance of white people as far as the black church is concerned. I just don’t think most white have any about what the Black Church in America — the prophetic Black Church in America is like. They don’t attend those ceremonies or those worship services.”

Hannity took Klein to task over this segment of the audio, saying:

“You do pander throughout this interview to Rev. Wright. You suck up to him big time and I didn’t know if you meant it. And then at one point, you attack me in this interview. Which I was a little surprised to hear.”

After playing the clip, the host then said, “You called me a ‘right wing crazy.‘ You say you don’t believe what I‘m saying and yet you’re asking every question that I would ask. You suck up to him, you attack me. What’s the story with that?”

Without pausing, Klein backtracked on his statements and apologized.

“The story with that is, to get from the Rev. Wright what I needed to give to him, I felt I needed to win over his confidence,” Klein responded. “And in doing so, I think I went too far, quite frankly.”

In the end, Klein apologized to Hannity for his comments and proclaimed that the tactics he used — which amounts to portraying himself as someone he wasn’t — to get information from Wright were viable and helped him to secure important information.

      Everyone has to earn a living…Mr. Hannity does it well…we all have some calling in life…maybe we all need to think before we write on here…we need to think more before we write…that is all I have to say…without our people on tv what would there be??? just awful movies and reality tv (what is that ??)
      pray for our nation…that we are wise in our thought processes…do not make the mistakes of the past to do over our future…

      WHAT could Hannity possibly get from Ed Klein’s book? Maybe an autographed copy? Hannity is already making over $1 million a year from FOX and up for contract renewal (as is O’Reilly); undoubtedly more than Klein will get from his book.

    I do not know why everything is so complicated. Didn’t Barak Obama have to put name, place and date of birth when he applied for passport, drivers license, application to High School, Harvard, loan applications etc. Why can’t the MSM just dig up some of these old things and put this to rest …….or maybe not.

      The problem appears to be that he has used whatever country, parentage, religion or belief system that was needed at the time. So if he needs to be born in Kenya – he is!! If he needs to be born in Hawaii – He is!!If he needs to support gay marriage – he does!! If he needs to be Christian – he is!!

      Hi Mapache. They have the info, they are afraid to disclose it. Typical hush up for Obama, and his left wing radical lifestyle. Only when Obama is safely out of sight, will the truth prevail. Congress, the Senate, and every politician in Washington, has the Obama information. Remember, we have a Black President who is totally protected by the MSM. If he was a white man, he would have been toast in 2008, and would never received the 2008 nomination. America collapsed under the weight of the Black influence.       Because Obama has changed his past so many times, even he can’t keep them straight. He has even contradicted himself many times. Perhaps he should read his own books again.
      The main purpose of pointing out his past, is that he is not competitent enough to be President, no matter where he was born. Obama does not act or think like ANY past President.

    The apparent thaw between Glenn and Sean makes my heart soar. Cooperation between these two is long overdue and with a united front they can perhaps stop the BO juggernaut. The subject of Rev Wright is, I think, incidental to the bigger story that perhaps conservatives can unite and support each other.

    Beck’s Friday Morning Radio interview with Klein was stunning… and peints to Obama & the Clintons as purely oriented to Winning, where Politics is a code word for the Justification to Cheat & Lie! These people are Sociopathic!

      Yes…I was fooled by them…for a long time…just could not believe that someone would do that to our nation…how cruel this world can be…I cannot get anyone I know to see this..they are duped by the new O…maybe they think they are being good by thinking this way…but to me they have never read our bible and/or consitituion…I don’t capitalize these words because they hate our nation so much they want to say they are outdated words…to Me they are very Important…BIble is God’s love for us…and Constitution writings is the love of nation with God on our side…but folks who do not have God at their side to not love anyone or anything ….I am saddened by the thought process that is happening now…that is enough for me to say at this time…God Bless America…

    To me it is fine that the Romney camp won’t do the vetting Hannity is doing it and thats all that matters to people who want to know the truth . Romney is making the same mistake that MaCain made not going after Obama . The media never did their job or most of what has come out in just one week Obama never would have been elected . Instead the media protected Obama and to this day they have sided with him even with all the damming information that is slowly coming out . The left will come out for Obama but many people who voted for him before will be making that mistake again . All the hype that about Obama being this great man is gone and the truth is making him out to be just what I have always thought off him .

    He Advocates Black Liberation Theology.
    So he is in direct alignment with Barack Obama.

    Is it any wonder people don’t trust the media? Media folks will not only lie to your face to get juicy tidbits, they’ll brag about how clever they were in duping you on the air.

    I’m no fan of Reverend Wright, but I’m no fan of outright lying to pander, either. At least I think Wright is intelligent enough to realize–on some level–that he was being had and was playing his own game.

    One more nail in the coffin of media credibility before the general public.

    First you determine what target to set up, and how. Then become a fake poser (a la James O’Keefe) to get hours of raw footage. Eventually, you edit the results to use just the tasty bits that make your preordained outcome seem real. At last, you make a product or cause to profit off the results! And Sean provides the free on air advertisements, which then become free “news” advertisements here and on Fox. It’s the Rupert Murdoch the circle of life!

    This faux news “researcher” was stupidly open enough to reveal the technique on air, and Sean has to pretend he is outraged!

    First all ……………. was anyone surprised with the content of the Wright interview? Anything new beyond what you knew around the time of the 2008 elections? No, of course not. It may have served to support evidence already in existence, but nothing really new. So the only real part of this that is telling revolves around the choice of verbiage Klein uses to describe the right-wingers. Here he is 2-3 years behind the stories the “crazies” were guilty of outing about Wright. They were called “crazies” for outing and what does this make him? Well, for starters, he’s: a day late and a dollar short.

    Some of those on the left are angry people …….. especially when they are upstaged by people they hate.

    To gain Rev Wright’s confidence Mr. Klein actually had to a moment of candor (very similar to Joe Biden on gay marriage) and the right goes nuts and forces him to take it back.

    Unlike Mr. Biden, Mr. Klein puts his tail between his legs and cowers in the corner.

      It is my responsibility as a husband and father to protect and provide for my family. I take that responsibility seriously – and my wife and children are grateful.

      I have been questioned by many as to why I would exercise my 2nd ammendment right. See above.

      I have been questioned as to why I listen to Glenn because he is ‘crazy’.

      I only see him using other people’s own words to prove his point – I say that’s good journalism.

      I have been questioned as to why I think this Jeremiah Wright story is important.

      I believe that I have a responsibility as a voter to have an idea concerning the character of the people I am voting for, and I take that responsibility seriously.

      If you want to call me ‘crazy’, stand in line. Meanwhile I will do my best to fulfill my responsibilities.

      GSPLGTR, Daniel Pearlman didn’t have his throat slit, they CUT OFF HIS HEAD. I have seen other incidents of be-headings, where the one doing the cutting is just filled with glee. I am convinced that we are NOT dealing with people here…these are demons from hell. THESE ARE DEMONS FROM HELL. And if you think I’m kidding, go to youtube and look it up. There is no “talking” with someone like that.
      I know I sound like a crazy, but when I try to think of what would make anyone do something THAT evil, that’s the only plausible explanation I can come up with. The devil is running on the earth because he knows he has a short time….and he is headquarted in the Middle East……makes me sick.

    We have Wrights own words, on audio tape and the clear fact of Obamas biography that was released in 1991, sixteen years in production, before the book was released after massive editing just two weeks before Obama ran for President.

    This is another move to distract us all from the truth behind the claims made by Wright. Obama has engaged in the crime of bribery with Wright, trying to buy his silence, and thus needs to be removed form office at once via impeachment.

      As much as I hate to defend Rev. Wright (and I do!) , let alone ODUMBER (even MORE so!), I do not think there is such a thing as the “crime” of bribing a preacher. He is not a public official and has no official standing. Hell, the man is barely HUMAN!

      However, I would hasten to add that ODUMBER has done PLENTY of things that are impeachable offenses, and so we really don’t need an excuse for him to be impeached. All we need is a Congress with the guts to do it, which, unfortunately, we don’t have. The one big flaw that I see in our Constitutional system as it was set up is this one: We have to depend upon others in government to do the impeachment. If we have an unConstitutional, anti-American POS in the White House (as we do), there should be SOME way for “we, the people” to remove his sorry a*s short of armed revolution!

    I am watching the episode now, Hannity. I can not stand the Rev. but I think he is telling the truth. What gets me most is that Romney is not going to use any of it. So again we do not vet this man, again the now President Obama gets to slide. I’m not a big fan of Romney but he will have to do, I think he is missing the big picture here when it comes to Obama. The people have to do their homework about Obama, but how many will? Those that support him will just say these are lies and the mainstream media will do nothing. Yet again we are all preaching to the choir. Seems the only ones that will do homework are those that follow Beck.

      Sleazyness is how these guys communicate. You flatter them, boost there already enormous ego, pander to them, agree with them. Then they’ll lower there guard and open up to you, as long as they are the alpha. Conservatists will never get honesty from someone like Wright, Sharpton, Pelosi, Obama, etc… because there guard is always up, ready to defend there stance and switch to an attack. Conservatists hold onto morals, values, we have too much pride to “suck up” or encourage a behavior that contradicts how we conduct our lives with honesty, trust, morals, accountabilty.
