Hannity Rips Apart Occupy Organizer in Tense Segment: ‘Get Your Ass Out of Bed…and Get to Work!”

Did you know that the NYPD was to blame for the crimes at Zuccotti Park? The rapes, sexual assaults, public urination and defecation?
That‘s the story told by OWS organizer Harrison Schultz on Sean Hannity’s show Thursday night on Fox News. The first 90 seconds of the incredible interview set the tone for the entire 10-minute segment:
Mr. Schultz not only blamed the NYPD for the crimes at Zuccotti, he also educated Mr. Hannity on the occupier’s beliefs about Capitalism and that government should provide all citizens with “basic necessities” such as free education, free medical and dental care, free housing, and free transportation.
Hannity eventually couldn’t take it anymore: “You don’t work, you get free money for school, and you’re [bleeped out on air] complaining and whining,” Hannity said. Later he offered a “suggestion”:
You are 29 years old. Stop wasting your time at Occupy Wall Street. And here’s a novel concept, get up at 6:00 a.m., shovel some coffee down your throat. Hit the pavement, find a job, get to work, stop whining, stop complaining, stop blaming and get your ass out of bed, like everybody else in America, and get to work. How does that sound?
It got even more heated from there, with both Hannity and Schultz taking parting shots at each other.

I worked while at a local community college while paying my tuition. I have worked many places, paid my dues and have a very good job now. All these freaking lazy moron OWS people want is hand outs, they don’t want to have to work for crap. I say cur off all their freebies and tell them to work or suffer.

It‘s NOT CAPITALISM that’s failing, it’s SOCIALISM in our system that is destroying us. Political correctness, class warfare, “free” everything, terrible education that can’t even teach simple truths, dishonesty, etc. That’s the failure. We can’t even have real discussions in America because we spend too much time discussing the personal shortcomings of individuals and who ate dog and who put one on a roof, rather than the merits of their policies.
Hidden in this guy’s speech is a guy who fundamentally and deep down knows capitalism works. But because of the lack of education and years of propoganda, he believes socialism is capitalism. Let‘s work on educating these people so they can realize that it’s the SOCIALISTIC policies dragging us down. Federal Government regulation and welfare is the problem.

See, genius, a company has to generate income to have the ability to pay people for their work. Also, a company that generates income pays taxes (well, except for GM but I digress) to the government which in turn, then has money to secure the student loans that you currently receive to enable you to go to school to receive the education or skills to procure a job. However, you‘re not going to school now but you’ve just begun to look for a job because you’re running out of loan money. Might I suggest that you narrow your search to include only those companies that “give away their products and services for free” as they will be unable to pay you.

It was funny and reminded me of some of the interviews that I have seen with Blabbermouth Schultz who has her talking points and no matter what you ask or say, she is going to stick with them. As hilarious as this was, it is also very sobering when you realize that this is the generation that is going to take over the leadership of the country. The sense of entitlement and the belief that NOTHING is their fault–someone else is to blame are astounding. In many ways, the utopian world that they are leaning forward to get to comes from the result of years of indoctrination (not education) at the hand of union-led teachers in so many of our school systems. Our local schools are considered among the best in the state, yet 42% of those who go on to college need at least one year of remedial work! I can only imagine what the worse look like. Perhaps they are like the LAUSD where starting next year a “D” will be considered a passing grade. This was done under the guise of decreasing the drop-out rate and increasing the graduation rate. What possible benefit will that give to the students?????

I was driving to the bank, listening to him on the radio and he slammed some young punk whose only response to Hannity’s question…“what has the pres done for the economy”…this kid could only spout what Hannity said sounded like he was reading Obama bumper stickers! It was hiliraous!! Young punk…”We’re moving forward…he’s changing things…” That’s all he could say! I had to pull over into a parking lot I was laughing so hard and had tears running down my face! Eventually I took on several paper routes and continued in that capacity until I was fifteen and a town to town move put the kybosh on my paper delivery career ;-) At 16 I worked at “Burger Chef” and took odd jobs mowing, painting, etceteras. I worked at Sirloin Stockade as a short order cook. I worked at Holiday Inn as a busboy/bellman. I worked at Brick Oven Bakery making all kinds of baked goods. I went into the Air National Guard 1981 – 1994, for 13-years through Desert Storm. I went through college earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology. I got a job at Delphi Automotive in 1987 and have remained in Manufacturing Development ever since. My Social Security information shows I have been an effective taxpaying citizen since 1974 and I will continue to be so until my dying day.
I own two homes, three cars, a boat, a house full of furniture. I have a beautiful wife, and two wonderful kids. We never stop working as a family or individually and I can say that when I see these OWS protestors I want to shout at them awful things, but my Savior Jesus Christ will not let me. I suppose these OWS folks never knew any better that America is the land of opportunity if they will simply apply themselves.

In the middle of my purchase someone behind me screamed; “Mic Check!” and the next thing i know I’m in the middle of Occupy Verizon. Despite their pathetic efforts to call Verizon greedy, I continued with my purchase and apologized to the staff for the inconvenience. I didn’t realize these people would be here but it was funny/sad. Funny that they thought they were bringing down capitalism and sad that they actually believe in socialism/communism.

Joan said, “Murals could brighten boring walls and flags fly from lampposts. Art could paper the neighborhood’s empty shop windows and sculpture fill its vacant storefronts.” I had to laugh. How about fixing the problem with this crime ridden area by lowering the outrageous taxes and cutting the stupid regulations in place in Mpls for businesses so that those empty storefronts could actually hold businesses. I was listening to Hannity today on the radio and actually hoped the “kid” would have been listening at the same time. Hannity stated he wanted to help and find the “kid” a job. Worse yet, any employer seeing a prospect with the name “Harrison Schultz” will most likely toss that resume in the garbage. FOX puts on some weak, inarticulate, ineffectual so called liberal who needs to make a few bucks and then creams them in a debate. Colmes falls into that category as does that fat guy on “The Five.” Juan Williams falls into that category too. FOX will only bring in a guy who the chicken hosts know they can outwit and talk over in a debate. And you you guys love it. Okay, that’s business, that’s making money, but it doesn’t make for informed discussions, nor is it journalism.

Having said that, I disagree with your assertion that liberals that represent themselves well get axed. Colmes is obviously silly (and he is actually the one that got axed), but I think Bob Beckel and Juan Williams are both very rational and intelligent. Kristen Powers is also a very reasonable liberal.
The reason it is so hard for Fox to get reasonable libs on is because libs are blackballed by their peers for going on Fox in the first place, not necessarily because Fox is deliberately filling the time with crazies.
On an unrelated note, the radio interview with this kid was definitely way better.

Personally I like the guy and generally agree with his ideas. But in my opinion he’s a token liberal on FOX. He’ll give a moderate opinion, and then he’ll shut up and take his place. When challenged he’ll never meet that head on, that’s not his personality. There’s a reason FOX employees him, and it‘s not because he’s willing to butt heads with the FOX conservatives, which he’s not.
As far as that guy on The Five, there must be some reason he’s matched 4 to 1. At least there’s some semblance of fair and balanced (2 to 3 would be even more fair and balanced). But come on, he looks like an overweight slob, and often sounds drunk. You think he really looks like a smart liberal? No he doesn’t. If he did he wouldn’t be there.
FOX is great entertainment though, I agree with your there, and does what Murdoch has done in England: promote a political agenda and practice partison politics under the banner of journalism.

So when they got to the heart of the occupy argument that capitalism has failed because he (Schultz) can’t find a job, Hannity went sailing by. The kid conflated capitalism with his inability to find a “good” job. Basically he is saying he’s talented, smart and capable and can’t find a job so it must be capitalisms fault. Absolutely immature and absurd.
I really wanted him to un-pack a lot of the occupy concepts and expose them for what they are, complete and udder non-sense. Although, to be fair, the kid was hostile and arrogant thinking he was just going to crush Hannity. No one crushed anyone in this interview. If Sean used a little more self control we could have gotten much more out of occupy.

The difference is I’ve somehow held a full time job since I was 16 to pay my way through life. I‘m still in school to finish a second degree since the first one I got I couldn’t find work with. Yeah it sucks, but that’s life. Nothing’s free and everything comes at a price (monetary or physical effort– like leaving the computer to look for a job!). I take most of my classes online now since it works well with full time work and there are so many of these kids in college its almost impossible to avoid them. When he finished school he took a job as a community organizer. I am not really sure what a community organizer is but as far as I can tell it is probably the professional rabble leader. I remember a radio interview Hannity did with one called Grim Womyn who was a graduate student at Columbia and was outraged that she should be expected to pay back her student loans. At least in a capitalist society I can choose to educate myself in a carer that will bring me a crappy income. How did corporations make it so a “select few” fields have jobs. They just hire who is useful. Not societies problem that a major in communications doesn’t produce a high income.
I have hired lots of people, some have to be engineers some are laborers, I hire for what I need so our business will be successful and we can all earn more money. It’s life. Get paid for your effort. No effort I fire you and you can go sit in the park with that goof ball. There is nothing wrong with being in business to make money. And there is nothing wrong with saying “you‘re not useful so you don’t get any” It is more fair for business to make that decision than government.

The Fed has been buying our debt (like mad) ever since that point. When China dumps the rest of the debt (in essense) the shite will really hit the fan and hyperinflation will kick in big time. The Fed will be forced into an either or scenario, print more money and inflate thier way out of debt or begin acting responsibly and raise interest rates (pull in 4 trillion from circulation and destory it thus propping up the dollar’s value). I have a feeling the end of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency is already a concession this current Admin is more than willing to concede meaning they likely have no problem with hyper inflation. It will wipe out the middle class for good and put severe strain on the remaining wealth left in private hands.

Report Post »This is not meant as a personal attack, I am just asking if you know of any proof of this allegation? I just Googled that same topic and came up with plenty of hits, but as I read them there are just mentions of “ALLEGATIONS” by certain journalists, “EXPLOSIVE CLAIMS” by other journalists and so forth. Haven’t read all of them yet but go back in shortly to continue my research. So far I have not read an interview of any of the homeless making these claims. As for the criminal element I don’t expect them to allow an interview. But, this is just like like certain cities across the nation making an announcement that they will have better facilities and higher expenditures to help the homeless. Where do you suppose many of the homeless managed to drift to? Even young Mr. Schultz mentioned how they took in the homeless and other in an attempt to help as all Christians should actually do. Locally, things like merely free food will attract the homeless and others.
But, should you have actual information listed at a site, please link it. I am interested in reading it, as well many others here.

My 21 year old and his wife just bought their first house. My 23 year old owns her own business.
My 19 year old works two jobs and pays for himself to go to school. He managed to take enough programing classes last year to do web design his sophomore year and is starting his own business (he has 0 loan debt). He did this without help from mom and dad or the Government.
All three kids did these things taking different paths.
Amazing that when they had to pay for education themselves they didn’t waste it on numb nutz classes without practical applications.
