The latest ad from the Sharron Angle campaign attempts to drive a wedge between average Nevadans and their incumbent senior Senator, Majority Leader Harry Reid. According to the Angle camp, while some Nevadans are struggling to make it in today’s tough economy, Reid’s been doing just fine:

Part-time legislature – they aren’t working full time anyway, why am I paying for unproductive employees? Benefits active only while serving, no lifetime entitlements. Return the senate to state house control.
And, please, could we get rid of the lengthy campaigning cycles – I’m already sick of it and there are still two weeks before the election. The stench of airing all this dirty laundry is suffocating me!!

I call this technique “breitbarting” in honor of that rascal that caused Shirley Sherrod to lose her job by misrepresenting her speech on race. I guess Angle is getting desperate after her Hispanic gaffe yesterday. Or perhaps this is just par for the course from political ads this season.

Also, as Glenn reported last night, there are as many as 30 Senators and Congress men and women that are living in their offices, since they can’t afford to maintain a house in their district AND a residence in D.C. – It is expensive to do, especially on a “non-millionaire” income level of less than $200K/yr (their salary), but somehow Harry Reid can afford an apartment/condo at The Ritz Carlton (Kind a like Gnukie on HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”).
