Has Christie Made His Pick for Prez in 2012?

With Chris Christie repeatedly turning down calls for him to run for president in 2012, the question now is, who will he support for the GOP nomination? According to CBS, we have an answer. And it’s found in the Hoosier state.
After a rousing speech by Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels’s wife, Cheri, on Thursday that included a crowd chant of “Run Mitch, run,” the speculation that the former Bush budget director might enter the race is at an all-time high. And with quotes like this one, he’s sure stoking the presidential fire: “This whole business of running for national office — I‘m not saying I won’t do it.”
But unless one can secure strong support from others who have influence, a presidential run is DOA. That would mean that a Daniels run would be quite alive and vibrant. According to CBS sources, he would have the backing of not only the Bush family, but also conservative rock star Chris Christie:
Reflecting what many observers see as weak Republican field, the pressure on Daniels to run has been intense. He has been assured backing from big-money donors who supported George W. Bush, in addition to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, as well as top sitting Republican governors.
Sources tell CBS News popular New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has told Daniels he would back him, as would Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
And as a sign of how important his wife is to the decision, sources tell CBS News that even former First Lady Laura Bush has called Cheri Daniels personally to encourage her to support the effort and offer advice on how to define what her role on the campaign–and potentially in the White House–would be.
In a field that has so far been underwhelming, that is big news. Those are the kind of supporters that can carry one to the GOP nomination and even to the White House. Still, there’s that detail that needs to be worked out first: Will Daniels decide to run?
“It’s closer to a decision,” Daniels told reporters after Thursday’s event, a state GOP fundraising dinner. “We owe the people an answer. If we’re going to do it, we have to get on the road to do it.”
What does Cheri think?
“We’re having a lot of talks,” she said. “It’s not just me. I have four daughters, and I have three sons-in-law, and everybody has a voice.”

I want a fighter too but I would prefer to have a smart, successful, conservative fighter who knows how to win instead of throwing out “red meat” then losing to Obama.

I’ve called Limbaugh about Mitch but Rush wants a Quixotic warrior chasing windmills….sorry, that’s a losing bet. Mitch is more Reaganesque than anyone else except Palin and I don’t think she is running.

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 9:11amThe White House isn’t that big of deal. I believe the real seats of power for We the People are in Congress, the state houses, the state attorneys general, the governorships, the counties, and the school boards. Vote out the liberals in those places and replace them with solid Constitutionalists, and Obow is a lame duck at the very start of his second term.
At the same time, Conservatives assume the reins of influence in the RNC, to rid the Party of RINOs like McCain while keeping good men like Congressman West. Over time, we groom men and women like him for higher position.
Our real influence and power is in those places I listed, and they’re probably the only places from where we can save our country.

While they feel good to hear, and it is always fun to see someone stand up to the current bullies, we need more than that.
Report Post »Furthermore, Chris Christie is not the total package. He may have a lot of what I’m looking for on the fiscal issues, he falls short beyond that.
What I sense is that we are all looking for someone that is going to take it to this administration both on the campaign trail and in debates. We are tired of the PC..we want a straight shooter. That is the appeal of Trump, Christie, Paul, and Cain.
I not only want a straight shooter and someone who will take it to Obama in a debate, I want someone who will respect the office and understand who it serves. I want someone who will set the standard for the Country in principles and ideals, as well as the credentials to pull this great country out of it’s spending death spiral. Who can do that for us?

If so, I will end up paying about the same in taxes.
For example:
NJ real estate tax $8000. Tax of 1% is a total of $9000

I live in the geographic area known as the “Garden Spot” otherwise know for the place Turkey Hill Ice Cream is “exported”. In PA we have a one time 2 % transfer tax upon purchase of the home. ( 1 % to the municipality and 1 % to the County.) On top of that there is 6 % sales tax on non perishable, non durable goods. Our income tax in our county is .10% Our state employment tax 3.07 %. Here in the land of plenty, our unemployment rate is very low, and thousands of new residents are moving here to retire. Our Unemployment tax is high, considering I am a Chapter S and can never take advantage of the benefit of unemployment. . Remember we are still reeling from the misguided direction of the “Fast Eddie Rendell Administration” The following site may help sort things out
http://www.revenue.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/individuals/11405/tax_rates/594648
I find real estate values are holding here and the availability of new housing is endless. The time to buy RE is now.. But, PA is a big state, and upstate is in terrible shape. Upstate residents are moving here as well. As our Quaker Brothers said 350 years ago, “Come to the land of plenty”

Report Post »Oh I forgot about RE Taxes. Re taxes are based on the municipality and the school district you reside. Some are more and some are less. They are based on a valuation figure for your home, and then the taxes are levied in mills. 10 mills to the cent vs the valuation. So if my house was worth 200 K, and my tax rate is .15 mills, the total school tax would be $3000.00 Here is a good site to that shows all of the taxes combined to realize a total tax. You should be able to compare this to NJ easily. http://www.realchoicerealestate.com/Lancaster%20County%20Millage%20Rates.htm

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 10:36amAs if we the people, really need the Federal government telling us what drugs to use or not, while the Military is helping the Taliban move heroin in Afghanistan, and the CIA and BATFE is helping the drug cartels move marijuana, cocaine, heroin and other drugs, cash, and guns across our southern border…hypocrits.
Feddie Government can kiss my bong.
Ron Paul 2012.
Liberals are scared to death of this man because he will actually pull votes away from Obama, just by supporting decriminalization of marijuana and other drugs, he gains a ridiculous multitude of new voters and voters who would have never voted republican before.
Neocons are scared to death of this man because he will end the ridiculous wars, bring our troops home, and audit then ABOLISH the Federal Reserve.
They ought to be scared.

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 11:27amWhy are we waiting to be fed our next candidate? We’ll get stuck with some global elitist with a letter in parenthesis after their name, I think it’s hunting time.
Conservatives seem to find themselves in the defense- which is catching up the rear so to speak.
I love Ron Paul but he is not a governor. I will never vote for a mere Senator.
Report Post »No to Christy,Romney,Daniels,Huckabee, Newt (snake with legs!) Pawlenty, or Paul.
No adulterous, gluttonous, idolatrous, or murderous Anti Christ neocons for me..
No holding my nose this time.
I bet Obama will win.

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 11:35amTo lump Ron Paul into that nasty pile of candidates shows how uninformed you are.
Ron Paul stands in stark contrast to those candidates.
Just because he hasn’t been a governor seems like a pretty weak reason not to vote..but hey.
No skin off my nose. I’m writing his name in regardless.
BTW, Paul is a Congressman, not a Senator.
Obama will win if you allow him. And if you allow him, you deserve all the crap that follows.

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 1:00pmEnough with Daniels he has proven to be scared to debate Obama on Foreign Affairs when my five year could debate him on his worst area, Foreign Affairs.
Report Post »Enough with the wolf in sheeps clothing Gov. Christie who has proven also to be a Rhino for not joining the fight to defeat OBAMACARE in court and backing MIKE CASTLE over Christine O’Donnell as did Karl Rove who we know is a big progressive as Glen Beck pointed out. We all know Mike Castle’s voting record which was progressive and favorable to OBAMA.
How about someone who earned every political office they have held by fighting Liberals and Rhino Repub in their state. = Palin

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 3:37pmMitch Daniels bores me. I‘m not saying he wouldn’t make a fine president, but he just bores me. I get sleepy watching him. I’m not saying he has to be an entertainment genius or anything, but he just puts me to sleep. It’s like a heavy fatigue that envelops me. I’m not saying his policies are bad, but he just doesn’t have that umph that I would prefer. You know what I mean?

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 7:20pmI know a lot of the posters here are Rush fans. I listen to Rush every day.
How many of you remember Rush’s “Operation Chaos” from the last political election? Rush told all of his listeners to vote for Hillary so that it would cause chaos in the democrat primary.
Welcome to Obama’s “Operation Chaos”, 2012 Version.
We are still smarting from having McCain as our candidate. He was terrible. So the conservative leaders like Rush, Sean etc have stated that we will not allow the media to pick our candidate (which is a joke since people vote……..media does not).
Knowing that about Rush and Sean, Obama and his minions are out there giving good reviews regarding Mitch Daniels, who is a strong Conservative and called the deficit a Red Menace. And as expected, Rush has gone on the attack against Daniels……probably the best Conservative choice for 2012. And Obama is laughing at it.
Obama’s Operation Chaos has started. Think about it……..
And with regard to Rep. Paul, simply Google Ron Paul Earmarks. He is not the fiscal Conservative that he portrays and his supporters believe him to be.

Posted on May 14, 2011 at 11:58amJust what we need (NOT) : ” The glaring reason for the family‘s hesitation is a 1990s gap in the couple’s marriage, when Mrs. Daniels divorced the now-governor and fled to California with a doctor, who was married at the time. Mrs. Daniels returned to Indiana several years later and remarried Mitch. It has long been assumed that the experience is a painful one for the couple that they do not like speaking about publicly. ” from Drudge article re Daniels/wife. Great, eh? SARAH AND HERMAN…folks that’s the winning ticket!! or DONALD and HERMAN if Sarah Won’t Run.
