California Residents Are Convinced Their Apartment Is Haunted

A town known to many as the setting for the popular teen reality show “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County,” could now host cameras for another reality show; “Ghost Hunters.” Multiple residents of the Arch Beach Tavern apartment complex say that the old hotel still has paranormal guests. MSNBC:

The Los Angeles Times reports that some say the old white building on the hill, built in 1915, used to be a brothel. One resident wrote on the Ghosts of America website this particularly terrifying interaction:

“‘I have lived at 2180 Catalina (bottom level) in Laguna Beach and have witnessed several different ghost sightings in the years that I’ve lived here,’ Nikki wrote. ‘Mostly seeing an older woman with white, short perm-style hair in my kitchen and standing over my bed.

‘When I first moved in I woke up to what I thought was a nightmare but clearly was not; I saw a woman in old-style courtesan clothing. She had curly long dark hair and was wearing old-fashioned lingerie. She was scratching at me and telling me to ‘get out.’ I had actual marks on my arms, so this was very real! I remember she had long red-painted nails.”

California Residents Are Convinced Their Apartment Is Haunted

According to the Times there have been several other reports of supernatural activity in Laguna Beach. Not to the degree of frequency as with the Arch Beach Tavern, locals have reported paranormal activity at the high school theater, Pyne Castle, Ti Amo Ristorante, the Royal Hawaiian and a beach cottage called the witch’s house.

At the end of one night there was two waitresses and me closing we were the last ones in the restaurant when as plain as day we heard what sounded like two woman and a man walking toward us and laughing you could hear the footsteps we all froze at the same time and said who is in the restaurant I ran out to scare the intruders out and found no one but us in the restaurant that was freaky all the doors in the place close slowly so if people ran out I would of seen the doors still closing and they were all still locked and pulled closed.

Some of my employees were scared of the place at night didn’t like staying late nights.

I never understand these people. You live in an apartment. If I have bugs in my apartment that don’t go away, I move out. What in the hell is there to think about when a ghost is clawing at you in your bed? Is the one window view really that good?

Well, I am Christian and I have been praying on the experiences I have had for a long time. Indeed I have had them. Since I was eight years old.

I find some reference in Corinthians I, 47-57. Particularly, this from 15:51, ” Behold I shew (show) you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we will be changed.” This particular chapter talks about the resurrection of the dead and the issues and that confront one in death.

I continue to pray on them, a few of them I have answers to now. Many others I do not.

I will tell you what I believe. There are some people who when they die are not prepared to meet God. Some of these people died quick violent deaths like murders or suicides. It is like their spirit is in shock and they keep reliving the moment over and over, like you would if you were traumatized by something. God in his mercy allows them to manifest themselves, so they can get the prayers they need to rest in peace. These prayers for the dead, predate Jesus. The Jews will sit and say prayers for the dead. After 911, there was constant sitting sheiva(?) for them. Paul talks about the early Christians baptising the dead. Catholics have masses said for the dead. If you have 2 Maccabees it is to prepare them for the final judgement. Their understanding of the resurrection was that the dead would rise on the last day. Since it was before the last day, and final judgement hadn’t arrived, they offered the sacrifices for their sins on their behalf, much like Job did for his living children. Peter also talks about Jesus preaching the Gospel to those who had died. A person’s abilitiy to help themselves ends at death, but the ability of others to help with prayer is in the Bible. God’s mercy extends beyond the grave. Jesus speaks of the 2nd death in Rev. that is final.

I have no way of knowing what is true in this story but I would caution people to avoid contact with such things. Posession by spirits is a reality. It is in the bible. One of the most well know stories is the one where Jesus orders the legion out of the man into the pigs. I think its a lot more common than people think. Once you have attracted or invited these spirits in they are not so easy to get rid of.

OK, I am going to plunge in further, to some of you, it will be like throwing pearls before the swine, but others may really need this information. A lot of protestants have a problem with purgatory, they believe when you die you either go to heaven or hell, but nothing impure can stand before God. Whenever you have someone like Isaiah or John stand before God, they are immediately aware of their sinfulness and proclaim it fearing for their lives. An angel of the Lord comes and brings a brazier to purify them. This is a soul’s response to God. It is like a bright light shining upon a glass, exposing every spot that was hidden in the paler light. A soul that loves God earnestly desires that these imperfections be purged from their soul. Paul talks about all of our works being tested by fire and that some will escape with only themselves. Our salvation comes through faith, but both Jesus and Paul make it clear that our deeds will be judged. Prayer helps will the purging process, justice demands the purge, His mercy wants to be applied. They can no longer ask for it themselves.Out of respect for our free will, God needs to be asked, thats where we come in. If you are sent to hell there is no coming out, but for those who believe but are still in sin, there is purgatory. No hell for them ever, they are saved just not ready to meet God yet.

One last thing, but it is very important. Do not go to any mediums or try to contact the dead like that. The Bible strictly forbids it and what you will get are demons. They can very knowledgable about that person, but their purpose is to lead you astray. Nothing good comes of that. As the transfiguration shows, people like Moses and Elijah can appear, but not at our bidding. If anything like that should occur, demand that they state that Jesus is Lord, if it cannot do that it is a demon.

“If anything like that should occur, demand that they state that Jesus is Lord, if it cannot do that it is a demon.”

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philip. 2:11

“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” James 2:19

“And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.” Luke 4:33-34

      etc…

Even the devils believe in Jesus Christ and know that he is the Son of God.

Katydidnt, I don’t know what the Jews believe about baptism of the dead, but I do know that the New Testament does not support it. Paul did speak about baptism of the dead, in 1 Cor. 12:29. He was not condoning it, however, but was answering those who did not believe in the Resurrection, stating that it was pointless to baptize for the dead if there is no Resurrection.

I don’t think I Peter 3:19-20 refers to all spirits because it speaks of the times of Noah. Some say Jesus was making an announcement to the spirits, meaning fallen angels, who roamed the earth at the time of Noah. Even if it did mean preaching to dead souls, as does I Peter 4:5-6, it refers to the Godly people who died prior to Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross not having their sins atoned for when they died and therefore having to wait in Paradise until such time as Christ died on the cross. At that time, Christ descended to Paradise and set them free, taking them to Heaven with Him.

Christ paid the price for our sin for once and for all, washing it away (1 John 1:9), even those we still do (because as Paul says, we continue to war with our sin nature). Because the blood shed by Christ on the cross atones for our sins, we no longer have to wait in Paradise or have the living pray for us. His blood makes us righteous. If we are saved by the living praying for us, then Christ’s sacrifice on the cross is meaningless because then salvation would be by the actions of humans rather than only of faith in Ch

I’m with you Brooke, I think they’re demons too. I never believed in ghosts, demons, God or the devil…until last January. I started watching those Ghost Hunter shows on TV, then ghost cams on the puter. Last January, the owner of the website was chatting about an 11:11 phenomenon, some kind of portal to the other side so on 1/11/11 at 11:11 pm, I turned off the tv and started recording the quiet in my house using my puter mic and Windows Sound Recorder. Using a sound amplifying program, I cropped the recording into 2 minute sections and couldn’t believe what I heard. “My name is Lucifer and I’ve reserved a place for you and your wife down here.” The whole 1 hour recording was dripping with class c evp’s, all demonic. Don’t believe me? 11:11 pm on 11/11/11 is right around the corner, try it for yourself. If you’re a non believer, you’ll believe after this!

      Hey THUN II,

You got a bunch of class “C” EVPs!!?? Hate to tell you but class C is an EVP that’s unintelligable!

IF you really have them why not put ‘em on the interwebs and post a link here so we can all hear them?

The web site with the ghost cams had 6 cams, 2 with audio. The site also explained how you could capture EVP’s with your computer microphone and Windows Sound Recorder. I was watching and listening one day and heard a tapping sound so I started the recorder and recorded about 6 mins. I thought I had recorded an EVP so I asked one of the so called experts in the chatroom if I could send it to him. He agreed and told me what I thought was an evp was not but I had actually recorded 3 class c evp‘s that I hadn’t heard. After listening several times they were clear as a bell. Now I knew what to listen for. It wasn’t until the owner started talking about the 11:11 phenomenon that I got the bright idea to have my own investigation. Perhaps they weren‘t class c evp’s, I’m not an expert. It figures you would ask me to post the recordings, I just deleted them. I’ve had a couple of incidents in my home and figured it was best to get rid of them. But as I said, I don’t really care if you believe me, I know what I heard. And like I said, November 11, 2011 is right around the corner, start your recording at 11:11 pm and record the quiet in your home, then listen to it with a sound amplifying program like Audacity. What have you got to lose?

I have always strongly believed that there are more dimensions to life and that the spirit lives on regardless. I still dream of people that I have known who have passed away. I don’t believe that this is all there is in life. Even the laws of thermodynamics states that energy is transformed and even the amount that is given off there is always an amount that is not calculable. This world to me is nothing more than a test of learning what you can do in life.

Many (35 yrs) ago I lived in a city in south Atl. that had a pretty brick two story home right next to the railroad tracks and it had been vacant some years. At this time it is a restaurant called “The Green Mansion”. But, those years ago I worked at the local mall and would get off work 10ish or so. I would go home a bit, then head out to my bestfriends house in the next town. That was when we were young and we partied all the time. Not like now….ugh….let me settle in for the night at 8:00pm..lol. So, anyway, I was leaving my house and headed in her direction and as I was crossing over the railroad tracks I look up at this house and the top story window on the right side has fire roaring out of it…I mean bright, blazing, brillant orange fire exploding from this top story window. There is a fire station right down the street, but I am in a hurry to go pary, and I know someone will report the fire, and I know it will be too late ’cause it will burn down to the ground anyway… so later , around 2 or 3 am I am going home and head across the tracks and I look over to see charred remains of a once lovely structure, and needless to say….it is perfectly intact. Nothing out of the norm. Same quaint two story house. And actually. never thought much about it til years later, and you visit the restaurant and there are quite a few ghostly story‘s of it’s history…and I know it to be true! I saw it!

Yes. I was driving home behind a dump truck in Adana, Turkey. As I approached closer to the dump truck, I also saw a turk riding a bicycle on the edge of the road. The dump truck did not move out as to pass the turk riding the bicycle and for a while I thought the truck had hit the rider. As I passed the area where the rider should have been, there was no rider on a bicycle and there were nothing but open fields. I expected the rider to be lying out in the field, but the rider was no where to be seen. My husband and I looked at each other as wondered where the heck he went. I have no proof it was a ghost, but in my mind I believe it was.

I don’t understand why folks call Paul “Conservative” He is clearly a “Libertarian.” The triad of American conservatism for many decades has been: (1) strong defense; (2) fiscal responsibility and free market capitalism; (3) laws & policies furthering morality. Paul has one out of three. If you want a strong, consistent conservative, then there is Rick Santorum. If you want a conservative who has a good chance to win, there is Herman Cain.
