Have You Seen Denis Leary’s Parody Showing Charlie Brown Converting to Islam & Becoming a Jihadist?

Charlie Brown Becomes a Muslim Jihadist in Denis Leary Video SpoofIn the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, you may have missed one of the Christmas season’s most intriguing — and potentially inflammatory – parody videos.

Comedian Denis Leary‘s production company, Apostle, posted a Charlie Brown spoof that is sure to cause some laughter, anger and — confusion.

Perhaps Gothamist describes it best as a “very uncomfortable jihadist joke.” The premise of the short clip is that Charlie Brown converts from Christianity to Islam. As the video progresses, its themes become increasingly controversial.

Charlie Brown Becomes a Muslim Jihadist in Denis Leary Video Spoof

What starts with Charlie saying, ”I’m so depressed. I think I’m losing my faith in Christianity,” ends with the beloved character in hell awaiting 72 virgins. Leary, who’s been known for his controversial work and commentary in the past, tackles other issues as well: praying facing mecca and Islamic garb, among other elements.

Charlie Brown Becomes a Muslim Jihadist in Denis Leary Video Spoof

Here’s what the blog “Islamophobia Watch” had to say about the project:

Just what the world needs. Another 72 virgins joke. A jaw-droppingly Islamophobic video has been posted by Irish-American comedian Denis Leary on WhoSay. Some years ago Leary took a firm stand against Mel Gibson’s antisemitism. But apparently crude anti-Muslim stereotyping is fine with Leary.

Watch the clip below (caution: language):

Leary also posted an anti-Santa song (another parody, of course) on the same day called “Merry Fu**ing Christmas” (caution: strong language when you click the link — and the video autoplays).

What do you think? Comedy, or too over-the-top?

I love the 72 Marcie virgins. What a brilliant point. No one ever said these virgins were supposed to be good looking. It could be 72 fat, ugly slobs that nobody wanted to do in the first place. Doesn’t sound like heaven to me. I’ll stick to worshipping the one true God, the creator and savior of the universe. Not a child molesting murderer.

Sorry, Islamophobia is an apologists term designed to cow Christian people from the “fight” in the battlefield of intellectualism regarding a clearly wide spread and increasing movement to subdue western culture(s) and their ability to identify it.

We don’t see this very same organization doing anything to combat the exact opposite of this phenomena among the Arab populations of the world depicting Jews and Christians in unfavorable light.

And I’m damn (sorry) tired of being told I have no standing from which to conclude evident truths that contradict these ridiculous claims that these things don’t exist. These groups get no traction here for their apologist positions.

You would think Muslims might wonder about who they are worshipping, based on the fact that allah meets them in Hell to judge them (Qur’an 19:66-71).

According to the Muslims, if you screw a virgin on earth who isn’t your wife, you will have your head cut off. But it’s OK with them if you massacre hundreds of innocent men, women and children and blow yourself up as well so that when you get to Islamaheaven you can screw all the virgins you want.

I guess that means that muslims should refrain from sinning on earth so you can sin all you want in heaven. What a distorted concept they call a religion. I call it madness.

Easy explanation; If you are a left-liberal, then you simply apply (or better, coin) a pejorative label to apply to those who disagree with you. If the label implies a pathology, so much the better. The willing media will quickly rally to the cause, and in no time at all, irrational becomes rational.
It is no small irony that the Islamic ‘community’ quickly piggy-backed onto the trend established by the homosexual ‘community’ (as an aside, I dislike that word when it is used in such contexts, it implies a stable, warm, wholesome group). Another interesting example is ‘denier’ as applied to those who question anthropologically-caused global warming.
The left-liberals never sleep. They are constantly redefining abnormal as normal, often in insidious ways. Unborn babies are never called that in the press. The homosexual powers-that-be have made certain that the media refer to homosexual predators as ‘pedophiles’. You see? I mean, if the offending character is a ‘pedophile’, then heck…, that is just a societal ill, never mind that the perp is a homosexual, and the victim post-pubescent and of the same sex. It just would not do to identify a homosexual predator as just such, because that would be, well…., ‘homophobic’.

Amen. We divide the body of Christ when He plainly said, “he who is not against us, is on our side,” recognizing that every disciple may not look / act /speak the same, but nevertheless, we are disciples. However, there are many who claim to have the “real / complete truth.“ There in lies the ol ”eye plank.” We are wretched, miserable, and sick. If we knew the Lord, we would be at peace with everyone, we would know just how light His burden can be, we would reap the fruit of love, we would begin living the resurrected life here and now. But….we are too prideful. We know not how to humble ourselves….completely. We continue to ignore His words. We need to look at them again, through fresh eyes.

It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which Islam had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”

      I agree with you @ROCKINCHUCK

I think what people have confused here is the difference between pointing out the differences between both the religion of Islam in general, or what all the various sects of that religion would share in common (the “essencials” of that faith, so to speak), and also, of course, the extreme branches of Islam, which more directly affect us in this time and day, in the news, with their aggresive actions around the world.

Of course, I realize a case can be made, which I believe, if I’m not mistaken, that from the Qu-ran itself, or right from the writings of Muhammed himself, there are “radical teachings,“ so in that the idea of any ”moderate” muslims would only be those who, I suppose, would not be so stict in their adherance with these ancient teachings, or “the letter of the law” so to speak.

I suppose it would be akin to Christians who do not take the Bible literally in places which, for instance, teach that there is a “hell” which would punish any who do not believe in the name of Jesus after death. To some, this seems a bit harsh of God, Likewise, it may be many of the multi-millions of muslims around the world may not think of some of the most extreme teachings in the Qu’ran, as many of you point out, as something they would like to hold to as their personal belief, although not rejecting the faith outright. This is why the extremist want them dead as well. And I am sure there’s beliefs in that world everywhere in-be

So, this is where i agree with you ROCKINCHUCK, that it‘s not that it’s wrong to point out the distinctions among beliefs of people, however, I think it‘s wrong to do so in this sort of demaing way where you get the sense there’s no “love” for the people we’re talking about. I think that’s what ROCKINCHUCK is talking about, as a true follower of Jesus, we’re called even to love our enemies.

The .000000000001% would be me allowing for the slimmest of extreme chance of any terrorist humbling themselves enough sometime in the future enough to allow someone else to take the penalty for all the wrongdoing they have ever done. I know it will piss off all of the pharisees on this site, and even want to kill me, as they did someone else who talked about the same thing for the worst of the worst people of the time. but, honestly, i don’t see it ever happening. these people are so engrained with hate. as glenn says, you don’t fight hate with hate. restore with love.

anyway, i’mconfident that all of these will be judged fairly. my problem is with people’s spirits in not showing others, even if they are evil, any kind of love at all. it’s like doing the same thing they are doing. it’s not helping. and just saying, “well, they deserve hell, suffering, slime, pain, spitting on, etc. etc. for what they did, do, and believe in,” well, heck yeah! of course! no crap! but, that doesn’t mean as Christians, as ROCKINCHUCK i think is tryin to say you lash it on them. at least that’s not what i was called to do by God according to my Bible, not tocondemn, but to save. if they can’t be saved, then, oh well. spitting at & hating them isn‘t what i’m called to do.

i disagree with glenn that judgment and wrath are never something that God is about, or as if the nature of Jesus and God is the same as “ghandi.” it’s only for this time we are not to conde

americans are terrorists too. they kill in the name of their religion-americanism. This is more silliness on the part of american islamophobes who rail defiantly against islam because they are angry that 10 yrs after 9-11[the day they finally got push back for their unjust policies and a taste of their own medicine] and after 10yrs of wars against them, a billion muslims still exist and arn’t going anywhere. Silly americans!

While “crude anti-Muslim stereotyping is fine”, this example of crude anti-Muslim stereotyping is enormously appealing and, while it is welcome anytime, this sort of satire is particularly welcome during the Christmas holidays. Contrast the original “Charlie Brown Christmas” classic with its message of peace and forgiveness and biblical love with the squalid Mohammadan Koranic Christmas message painted by images of churches burning amid the jangling discord of jihadis creating a ruckus dragging in meanness, misogyny and Muslim mayhem.

Ridiculing your opponents is wrong. If Leary wanted to point out the depravity of Islam… that’s fine. If he wanted to point out that the destination of people who embrace death and mayhem is not heaven, but hell… that’s fine. If he wanted to talk about how many muslims embrace terrorism, about the horrible social rights issues in countries ruled by sharia law, the depravity of honor killings and how widespread it is in muslim cultures, etc., etc…. all that would be fine. Making the point through ridicule, though, taints his message. And using Charlie Brown to do it was truly tasteless.

You do understand that comedians use mockery to make points, right? He’s not a sober, serious philosopher, he’s a comedian. Relax.

While I find Dennis Leary to be generally classless, this parody is quite funny as it pokes fun at Jihadis and commercial Christianity at the same time. “Where’s the jewel-encrusted baby Jesus and the solid gold cross”.

@ELIASIM Rev. 7:9[ The Great Multitude in White Robes ] After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

It will be a little bit more than 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel

Phobia is an irrational or baseless fear.
I think it is perfectly rational to fear someone who would chop your head off with a dull butcher knife while praising thier god.
Is it baseless to fear a group who would carry out a suicide bombing in your childs elementary school? i don’t think so.
