The Olympics closed out for another four years on Sunday. This unifying event saw a fair share of American victory. The U.S. walked away from the London Olympics with a staggering 104 medals. Forty-six of them were gold. Room to gloat? You betcha. So here is the best of the “AMERICA” meme (from the tumblr page) that has popped up throughout the Olympics for your viewing pleasure.

Posted on August 13, 2012 at 7:56pmIt’s disrespectful. Period. How many have died in the service of our nation to preserve that flag? Check the U.S. Flag Code:
§8. Respect for flag
b. The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
c. The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
d. The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.
e. The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
j. No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform.
I will never “get over” anyone disrespecting the flag, nor will I ever “get over” anyone disrespecting the Constitution.

Report Post »OpenTheirEyes
Posted on August 13, 2012 at 4:58pmYou can say….that they didn’t cheat. Oh – yeah. They didn’t do their best so that is the reason for eliminating them? Granted they were not very good losers because they were so good they never had to play by such stupid rules! Their goal was to win the medal. They did what any enterprising person or team would do – play by the stupid rules of pool play to ultimately win when it counted. If they are good enough to throw a match and still win in harder competition and the overall medal they should be allowed to do that of just forfeit. If the governing boards for these sports are going to have round robin pool play then they should realize all athletes will do what it takes to win the prize or give them the best chance to win gold. Single elimination – lose and your out – would have cured the horrendous practice of not playing your best – which in this case is called – cheating. This is just another progressive/liberal practice – “Well…we want everyone to play and feel good about themselves.”
Report Post »OpenTheirEyes
Posted on August 13, 2012 at 5:04pmJungleJ – I am with you. Gloating has no place in sports or sportsmanship. I don’t think the majority of the athletes that you featured in this slide presentation would agree with the sentiments expressed.

Report Post »4xeverything
Posted on August 14, 2012 at 11:36amYou said very little with a whole lot of words. The rules state that you must play to the best of your abilities. If you choose not to that is called cheating. Please, stop trying to put lipstick on a pig.
