Have You Seen the Viral Tribute Video to Steve Jobs?

Apple stores closed for three hours on Wednesday to allow employees to participate in a special memorial to co-founder Steve Jobs. Store windows were covered and a video tribute was played for all employees who chose to attend.

While searching the web for any snippets of the corporate tribute to Jobs, I came upon a moving memorial song that was built using Steve Jobs’ words from a commencement address he delivered back in 2005 and sounds pulled from various Apple/MAC products.

The artist (“AzRmusic” on YouTube) explains:

I made this song using only sounds from Apple products and Steve’s 2005 Stanford commencement speech. Every instrument, including drums, has been sampled from a Mac product, tuned by ear, and replayed in the context of the song.

I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed making it.

RIP Steve. We’ll miss you.

The Blaze contacted AzR, the artist who created this tribute to Steve Jobs. He’s a talented audio engineer named Jordan Moser.

Jordan shared the techniques he used to build the song out of sound files from various Apple products.

“The process of making the song was a lot of fun. I took sounds from my Mac system folder, downloaded iPhone and vintage Apple sounds, edited and tuned each sample and loaded them into a drum sampler in Apple’s Logic Pro. I was then able to further tweak each sound and perform them together as a drum beat. The main melody line is a sample from a crash sound on an Apple II that I loaded into a sampler and performed. There are a total of 3 start-up sounds throughout the song, and over 40 various other Apple sounds, old and new. I wanted to show the full scope of Steve’s career from his start in 1976 until now. I will be releasing a tutorial on how I made the song on youtube, so stay tuned.”

If you are interested in Jordan’s music, he invites you to listen to more of his creations online at azrmusic.net.

    Sounds like he worships death.

    I am immortal.

I have been granted immortality by the Sovereign of the Universe, YHWH Yahushua.

Life is an illusion. Death is an illusion. Reality is an illusion.

The only thing that exists is YHWH.

Jobs was a Capitalist that funded lots of evil little people with evil little plans to kill Capitalism.

Jobs is the Capitalist that de Tocqueville warned us about (Gates too, for that matter): The kind who rides a horse to riches, then kills it when he gets there.

Sorry to break your worship but Jobs was a lair and a thief. Try reading up on this guy as to how he came about his genius inventions. As for bringing people together it was more like a likeable slave master. He would ask for ideas then tell people to go to hell. Find the real man don’t sallow the worship.

I don’t worship Steve Jobs but do recognize him as a great innovator. Many people have great ideas but never do anything about them. Steve Jobs recognized great ideas and did something about it. He was able to build the right teams. He took existing technology and made it better. He’s not the only person to ever do this, many products are improvements of existing products, look at your big screen TV for example.

LOL dude. An entire *sic* posting. Is this what my tax dollars buys in an education these days?

When products don’t sell in standard retail facilities they are sold at huge discount and then sold to the public for a fraction of their original sales price. Now is that a bad concept? Long live choice.

I couldn’t agree more. Today, the geniuses are constantly “updating” (not inventing new things) these toys because it is an easier and faster way to get more money from so many with very short attention spans (and, apparently, money to burn).

A great monologue from Billy Madison comes to mind when I read this:

“What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

Kudos to Steve Jobs for providing a ‘capitolist” environment that has provided 1000′s of jobs that translates into money into the economy.

Celebrate Steve! Celebrate Technology! Celebrate Capitalism! Where would America be without their
forward thinking and the one place on the Earth where you can make your dream a reality! Just think about it….without the freedom we have had here (unlike other places) where dreamers can find those who will come alongside and help the dream become a reality and change all of our lives as we know it! What socialistic country has ever had that track record! God bless you and your dreams! May we always have the ability in this country to hearld all the Steve Jobs, whose destiny was fullfilled with hard work and determination in the greatest country on the face of the Earth! May you truly rest in peace Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs is the example of what can happen when an individual takes a dream and acts on it. I can’t even begin to match him on intelligence or initiative; however, I do know this. Death is the great equalizer of humanity. We all WILL die. But there is One who not only defeated death, but conquered it as well. His name is Jesus Christ, and I pray that Steve Jobs knew Him.

Jobs was a huge hippie and dropped acid and took artsy classes. He was a liberal. He never cared about stock price or consumer surveys he just focused on making a good product and now his company is the largest in the world. This economy needs more people like that and less profit worshippers.

I hear what you are saying… but, ;P
you know, that just groups people into adoption and non adoption, i think we should ignore that like skin color… because it obviously doesn’t matter whether your are adopted or not…
Constantly saying, “I’m black”, “I’m adopted”, etc… just makes you some sort of victim, and you aren’t… most people have divorced parents… that is worse than adoption. adoption, in MOST cases have 2 parents, they have to when they apply… yes, there is a few single, Very Well Off, females who have adopted because it is fad and got to skip the spouse portion of the application…
Basically, it’s All about having loving, caring, nurturing and patient parents. THAT is the major answer to creating a good adult… Yes, genetics have a play in that, but even the most aggressive of animals, such as pit bulls, can be made gentle as a lamb with proper care…

Don’t lose faith, don’t Settle, Stay hungry, Stay Foolish
Love what you do, Love who you love,
Do Great Work. And To do great work….And the only way to do that is….Love what you do!
Treat your days as If it’s the last day of your life do you want to do what your are going to do today…if the answer is no too many days in a row then make the change. No body wants to die, even people who want to go to heave don’t want to die.
Death is the single best invention in life…if clears our the old to makes room for the new.
Don’t lose faith, don’t Settle. Thank you Steve Jobs…you are one hell of a person.

I am so tired of this Edison comparison! Well if your referring to the way he took technology patents and made a slight change. then sold the Idea as his own then I guess the comparison is fitting. Jobs was great salesman and marketing guy it was Wozniak that was the technical genius.

Agreed. I read Woz’s book. Steve was just the sales guy, and a bit of a bastard. Woz was the true genius behind the Apple II. AFAIK Jobs didn’t invent anything. He was a marketer, a visioneer, a public speaker, and an idea man, but had the technical guys do all the technical work. Apple “borrowed” concepts from a lot of other companies.

If you notice, Steve Jobs never claimed to have invented anything. He was the driving force behind everything though. He took these smart guys, organized them, and created a product that was built for the masses. When he bough Pixar, he did not do the animations himself, but he found and brought together the best animators and computer experts he could find, and got them working together. Yeah he never invented anything himself, but he never claimed to either.

Jobs made things even easier to use then they already were. That is not the problem. The problem is that when individuals are confronted with something that requires a little bit of thought, they don’t know what to do. Most of the time, they want to talk to one or more other people to find out what “the best course of action is”. Depending on the situation, that’s a good idea. But sometimes, you really just need to make a decision.
