‘He Sat At The Knee of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright’: Ed Klein, Author of ‘The Amateur,’ Talks Obama With Beck

Ed Klein’s book on Barack Obama, provocatively titled “The Amateur,” is an impressive work of investigative journalism – so impressive that it’s made waves everywhere, and hit the top of the New York Times bestseller list in very little time.

The book causing all the fuss

To that end, Glenn invited Klein on his show to discuss some of the more interesting allegations in the book, as well as to talk through Klein’s sourcing on some of the stories, just to confirm that the book’s reporting was really as unimpeachable as it should be. The interview lasted nearly 15 minutes, and included some fairly hot accusations and juicy bits of White House gossip, most of which Klein claimed were backed up by multiple sources.

Klein tells several fairly shocking tales about the social circles surrounding the Obamas during the course of the interview. His stories range from the worrisome to the gossipy to the lurid, and even to to the humorous. For instance, in one part of the interview, Klein documents how women who had shared a gym with Michelle Obama had laughed off the idea of President Obama cheating on his wife.

“She would have killed him!” Klein quotes his sources as saying.

Not that it’s all humor. Among the more serious topics covered, Klein mentions the outsized power of Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, who apparently had such a degree of influence with the First Lady that she was able to get no less an eminence than Oprah Winfrey frozen out of the campaign. Klein also notes that all of Obama’s closest advisers have returned to Chicago, with the exception of Jarrett, who still remains best friends with Michelle, and even eats dinner with the First Family at 6:30 – something no other White House staffer can do. So powerful is Jarrett, in fact, that she can even force Chiefs of Staff to leave the White House.

Klein also discusses Jarrett’s connection to Solyndra by way of the Kaiser Foundation, which gave Jarrett numerous grants while she worked at the University of Chicago, and which owned over 30 percent of Solyndra.

“It was an inside job, that whole Solyndra thing,” Klein says. “It’s all intertwined.”

    Does Bill Clinton Really HATE Barack Obama?

    In 2008, a conservative website headlined a story, “Why Bill Clinton Hates Barack Obama AND Hillary” which posited the theory that Bill hated Obama because the latter was everything he was not and his wife because she posed a threat to his legacy.

    “Hatred” and “hate” are powerful words, almost as potent as “racism.”

    Did George Zimmerman hate Trayvon Martin when he shot him, or was he merely defending himself? Did Rev. Jeremiah Wright hate the United States when he screamed “God damn America,” or was he simply angry? Do investors hate Facebook for Zuckering them? Does Barack Hussein Obama hate our country, or does he just act that way?

    Does Bill Clinton, deep-down, hate Barack Obama?

    The effects of the word “hatred” can be mitigated by using euphemisms such as “dislike,” “antipathy,” even “disenchantment,” none of which carry the gut impact of “hatred” and none of those alternatives adequately describes the feelings of politicians who despise an adversary yet must create an aura of amity toward members of their party if they want to remain in its good graces.

      I think the difference between Bill Clinton and “O,” is that Bill (not necessarily Hilary!), LOVE the U.S.of A, even though he wanted his own power.

      “O” and his friends and cronies are it all this to WIN and TAKEOVER the U.S. and make it “the same” as ( or worse than) the rest of the world in retribution for our success. This success was earned throught hours of prayers on American knees, lifetime of work by struggling Americans, and some parts of our history, although no different from the rest of the world at that time, less than stelliar. But, we have corrected our wrongs, we have removed barriers and opened the possibilities to all Americans and those who come to America with the work ethic and dreams of our Forefathers.

      We have been, truly, One Nation, Under God, but even that is being taken away from us–those who believe it and those who might not believe but have profited from the freedom it allows all!

    I found the part about the Obama’s not treating their friends well very interesting , if it is true and I have no reason to think that it is not. That would place Obama in the same company as Stalin and Lenin because both of them behaved the same way towards their friends. Stalin of course was the worst of all because he had his friends killed or ptted against one another with the victor also being killed. Klien has a shady history with the truth but even if half of his book is true Obama has to be voted out of office.

      I just read Valerie Jarrett’s bio on wiki. There may well be some reality to that quip. If you add in the male dalliances claimed of the potus….you have quite the swinging couple.

    I am glad to see Mr. Beck follow through with this…but stop avoiding Jeremiah Wright . Karl Rove doesn’t want people looking into bribes paid to keep people off camera during elections…probably because he is a leading manger of these kind of deals. Yet this one figure Jeremiah Wright may prove a key player in the destruction of the human race…a man who bred a stealth antisemite to rise and rule the world …. An adopted son of a man who would bless the nuclear armament of Iran and trigger a war against Isreal that leads to armageddon…..

      Glenn has not “avoided” Wright–his entire interview with this author on the radio progam last week was about Wright. The article and interview is here on the BLAZE, and is available at least on GBTV or on glennbeck.com — search it out and listen!

    All major news organizations: NBC, CBS, ABC, NY Times, NPR, CNN, MSNBC, BBC etc won‘t even mention Klein’s book on any of their broadcasts. It’s going #1 without a peep from the main stream media because it paints the President in a bad light. However, in 2004 and 2008 every book that was against McCain and Bush lead each broadcast every night on each news organization’s program. Despite all the coverage those books did make it into the top 10 but not #1. Had they not plastered the Bush & McCain books all over it would be no big deal. However, to selectively edit out any books they deem “unhelpful” is exactly why Americans are running away from them and why their ratings are sinking at record level rates (look at the CNN ratings report this month). I actually think it‘s kind of cool that American’s are finally seeing through it all and running to places where truth still reigns supreme. GBTV surpassed the entire viewership of the Oprah Winfrey Network in two weeks upon launching and Fox News has dominated for more than 10 years now. Even Obama Girl caught on to the media and woke up finally (see link)

    There is no happenstance with the Obama White House. This is a well orchestrated group of people with powerful friends.
    This is why I don’t think Obama will leave office, election or not. They, the one’s who placed this untried, unvetted, unknown man into power, will not let that power slip from their grasp now that they have it.
    They have five months, maybe eight months to make their big move. Time is growing short.

      I believe they will pull some baloney to keep him in, anything from an assasination attempt, to a terror attack or a “financial recovery”. More of that govt math plastered all over the media.

      If he runs on his past 3.5 years, he is one and done. There will be some manipulations afoot real soon.

      I try to remain hopeful, however, I believe you are correct.

      The Left has come this far, and they won’t go down without a fight; they see this as “now or never”.

      These are troubling times, very troubling. I fear for our Republic.

      I tell myself to “be of good cheer’, but it is difficult sometimes. Still, we must press on and not go over the cliff when everyone else does,

      I’ve been saying, and still am, since he got elected that there won’t be an election in 2012. He’ll do something or hire someone to do something, or convince someone it’s the patriotic thing to do, to cause him to declare martial law and suspend elections. If he doesn’t, he’ll win by a slim majority through cheating, it will come out and there will be (he hopes) riots. Either way, there will be riots because if he loses, his base of takers will take to the streets. I see America burning. We on the right, mostly due to Glenn, believe in ballots not bullets, but not so with the left. They’re all for gun control, until they want to carry.

      A snake, a liar, a deceiver, possibly not even eligible to be in the WH (I do not believe the State Dept.,) a man who has used felony drugs and pot, a protector of sodomites to progress, a man who supports agendas to kill babies, a man who sticks his nose into states and individual affairs to promote agendas that is contrary to the well being of this country, a man who is preventing growing of crops, destroying this country’s ability to produce food, and even have jobs, and destroying the finances of this country. A man who befriends criminals and Communists, Sounds treasonous to me. I could go on, but it has all been said before and by me. My question is Why Was This Man Allowed Near The Office of President, or any office held in this country for that matter?
