Rick Perry is the 3rd Bush

      Exclusive: Vox Day warns GOP
      not to nominate Texas governor

…Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, on the other hand, has been packaged to look eminently attractive to conservatives around the country as an evangelical Christian who is the successful governor of the largest Republican state in the country. The problem is that Perry is a faux conservative who is very much cut from the same globalist cloth as George W. Bush. He isn’t a Republican so much as he is an opportunistic member of the bi-factional ruling party; he was the Texas campaign chairman for Al Gore’s presidential campaign in 1988. No wonder the “conservative” media love him; it appears that about three-quarters of them are recent converts from the Democratic Party themselves. One reason the Republican Party and the conservative media never make any rightward progress is that both are heavily influenced by former Democrats and liberals who claim to have seen the light, but are always focused on pragmatic compromises rather than principled stands…

So they attack a Christian for his faith…. whats new? The Progressive Socialist Democrats have been doing that for years. The Progressives distort the truth and lie in their attempts to smear Christians.
All they will do is make Perry more attractive to the Christian voter. When you compare the Progressive Obama, and those who worship him, to the Christian Perry you will see that more voters are like Perry in their faith. Obama and the Progressive Socialist Democrats are intent on bringing a religious war as well as a Class War to America.

get so tired of people using the “Church and State” in the wrong way. They are so opposed to “Church” in anyway, they think that every way is a violation. I still am unsure why this offends Atheists. Don’t participate after all it is not “Real” is it?

Hey, Stuck_in_ca, I was a liberal Democrat at one time. Really! I voted for Gore the first go-around! But then my thought process began changing, little by little. And the day I saw airplanes slice into two buildings and those fall to the ground, the change accelerated. Ten years ago what had previously been rhetoric became a cloak of separation. I heard good being called evil and evil being called good. And I removed myself from the side that asked what we had done to cause those planes to slice into those buildings that fell to the ground. I changed completely. Think maybe Rick Perry did as well?

This is the crux of this whole issue (which the artciel misses completely). From the conservative political side, Rick Perry may be (and I hope he is) a Born Again Christian. But something is glaringly obvious. Rick Perry in all his years as Governor has never been one to speak out much, if ever, about his faith, prayer, Christ, Jesus, the Resurrection..etc. But for some reason recently he has a lot to say about all the above with his anticipated run for President. Kinda like getting tough on the border when you are running for office. Once in he forgets what he promised when he needed our votes. And then there is our supreme leader, Obuma. The story is offering a comparison that the media doesn’t call him out by speaking about the Resurrection. HELLLO! They miss the point completely. I can’t remember (can you) when Obuma has ever spoken about the Lord Jesus Christ and the Resurrection except for when HE HAD to based on a special occasion or photo op. This whole story is totally twisted for all the wrong reasons. Neither of these men have any credibility in my book. Zip…Zero…Nada.

Rick Perry is my Governor……I’ve voted for him every election. He has always been the best of the choices we had. Know he was a Democrat at one time…….I was too, before they went nuts!! Yes, he has gone down some rabbit trails that the people of Texas had to help him change his position…but he DID!!

As far as the RestoreUSA day of fasting and prayer, that has been in the works LONG before his name came up as a possible presidential candidate. The event is not a political event, it is a ministerial event. http://www.somebodycares.org/ is one of the ministries organizing the event.

The lawsuit is interesting, because it probably increased participation threefold at RestoreUSA on August 6!! I was dragging my feet on the 7 1/2 hour one way trip to Houston…not any more!! LOL!! Someday, people will understand what does and does not work with Texans!

I agree with you that “religion” is less important than economics right now, but a “relationship” with Jesus Christ will save our “eternal” lives and is the most important thing we can pursue in life. At this time Texas Democrats were still pretty conservative. Go back and read about Phil Gramm. Once Phil Gramm left the Democrat party in the 80′s it got the ball rolling for conservatives to make the change and leave the Dem party, which is what Perry eventually did as well.

Separation of church and state is not a religion, it is a lie. They think that since liars have been spewing ‘separation of church and state’ for a hundred years that it is something of a tenet. Well it’s not. It’s a load of crap just like it was the first time someone spewed it. Also, there is no recognition of “one religious viewpoint” as the idiot in the video says. There is recognition of the ONE TRUE GOD which ALL true religions recognize!

“Something … about the resurrection” ? And just what exactly would that be, Mr. Phony in Chief? Pray tell. I can really ‘feel’ his sincerity… Can’t you? Barack’s words belie a hollow shell, devoid of life. What a perfect example of a seemingly intelligent fool. He expresses such a deep understanding of the seminal event in all of history. What a consummate liar. Barack: The Great Pretender. The Muslim Apostate. Fake Christian. Death knell to America and the world. Harbinger of worldwide economic chaos. His masters must be very proud. Over half of the population voted for him. That is the depth to which the great promise of America has fallen. We need God now more than ever.

As an Atheist I am not to Upset with Governor Perry’s Remarks but they are pretty exclusive….like Christians God is the only thing that can save America..Oh well its not that Big of a Deal! But to compare what Obama said,to reflect at Easter on The Christians Savior’s Sacrifice and that he would say a personal Prayer in reflection,is a lot different then Calling on other Officials and Governors of the Country to fast like Jesus because that‘s America’s Only Hope! Perry is Kinda Asking for a Religion to be focused on above all others as the Countries only hope???? Like I said not a big deal to me,but it is not the same as Obama saying to reflect on your savior at Easter,,far from it,,and Believe me I am no Obama Fan! I think the suit will bring to light that Governors should not be Calling other Governors to worship for the Country…If you have a Religion and don’t know to do that already. Then I really don’t think your Prayers would mean all that much to your Deity! I hope it all Gets dropped but I Hope Governors Start Respecting the Office of the People, not just the Christian People,That’s a way to Divide the Religious and none Religious!

I heard someone say on FoxNews this morning that our Constitution claims that there is a separation of church and state. I almost jumped out of my chair. I think it was a Senator from Utah. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. However, after having said that, if the mood in government is pissed about religion, then they will propagate that LIE. AND, if the government provides funds to your religious organization, such as mosques being built in NYC, then they can claim otherwise. I say this: the moment someone says to me that I have no right to speak about my religion, then I tell them they have no right to tell me they are atheists. That usually shuts them up or they just say ‘whatever….’. Government cannot have it both ways. There is a freedom of religion, but nothing in there states that government and religion ARE SEPARATE. THEY ARE NOT SEPARATE and I challenge anyone out there to prove that this separation is in our U.S. Constitution. If it bothers you so much about someone’s religion, then turn the channel, move to another state, vote for the other person, move out of the country, the same I would say if the opposite were true. This is just all HOGWASH. ATHEISM IS A RELIGION. It is their right!!! The community should decide if there are too many churches or mosques – NOT THE GOVERNMENT, since they are run by the community.

Conservatives think God is God and rights come from God, that God is the author of liberty. They believe man should keep what he earns. These conservative economic concepts born out of values of Christianity.

Praying for our nation, especially in times of crisis, is an integral part of our history and totally in keeping with the Founders of the USA. If there is an established religion in our country presently which violates the establishment clause it is secular humanism. Although Obama seems to speak at times from both sides of his mouth, I find his homily on the resurrection of Jesus a beautiful little speech. The problem seems to be the hypocrisy of certain organizations in giving O. a free pass while persecuting any other politician for invoking faith and the need for prayer! I’m quite sick of it, the hypocrisy, that is.

not caring ‘much for this religious stuff’ is what has our country in the mess its in. This baloney of people who consider themselves to be ‘conservative’ and yet don’t conserve the godly basis of our nation are only a single tick away from liberal opinion. Christians and devout, godly Jews in this country do not stand for ‘our team’ or ‘how we were raised’. There is only one way that works. That way has been defined by the God who created this world and allowed the U.S. to be a beacon to the rest of the world of His blessings. When an American asserts what they ‘care for’ as a reason to discuss or define policy it is equal to the most off-base liberal fighting for THEIR opinion. Its not a very enjoyable fight to run counter to the nature of man when standing for principle, but people of faith who have had the scales removed from our eyes and allowed to see the nature of God’s creation and how he designed things to work are in a battle for the soul of the nation.

That’s the same thinking that has put the U.S in this calamity of economic turmoil. God comes first above all. The more we take God out of the public arena the more susceptible we are to disaster… America was once one Nation under GOD! That’s what made us great! Sadly, America is falling apart and isn’t it obvious why? Abortion, gay marriage, making it illegal to pray in public like what happened just recently in Texas… We need God more than ever right now and instead we have a great deal of people in this Country trying to destroy Him. Hard lessons to learn.

Most…i believe 9 of the 13 original colonies…had an official state religion….Catholic, Quaker, Unitarian, Congregationalist….whatever…check your facts…and most did not remove their official state religion until deep into the 1800‘s and early 1900’s even…even most of the states that were admitted to the Union AFTER the signing and ratification of the Constitution had state religions….

the 14th Amendment applied the first 13 Amendments to the states and was MAINLY done to stop states from making laws, like Jim Crow, that went against the 13th Amendment….

There is no reason why Rick parry and others can not exercise their own free expression of “religion”

Religion can be a source of any specific believe…You can have a “religious experience” at a baseball game or a school dance or a political ralley or at church. Religion can be a believe in climate change or evolution or God…One does not have to have “God” or “gods’ for something to be religious…

They can try to take down Perry with this but its an utter waste. The masses will elect Gilligan to prevent this clown from staging another term.

Granted, Rick Perry may have issues with the conservative base but they are few. Moreover, there is no George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, or Abe Lincoln running for POTUS. The conservatives must realize to defeat the communist machine they must give a little. And they will. Perry will do nicely. Here’s the problem with what you said: if the FEDERAL government is giving STATES money, then the FEDERAL government usurps full rights over states rights – at least, that is how they look at it. Look at healthcare. They forced this on all Americans. Yes, states had to come up with their own state laws to forbid the Feds from enforcing states to take their healthcare. The FEDERAL govt should NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, AND ANOTHER EVER be bigger that the individual state, REGARDLESS, since the states send their monies to the Feds. I say, let each state hold back their monies and see what happens. ;-))))

Rick Perry has every right to proclaim a day of prayer and fasting. I’m not sure his motivation for doing so is pure, but there is definitely a need for this to take place. Government leaders from the local level to the presidency have called people to prayer throughout American history.

It is always interesting to me that the humanists love to use the Constitution when arguing against the expression of religious beliefs while they themselves are pushing for laws to establish and foist on us their own religious beliefs. Secular humanism was determined by the Supreme Court decades ago to be an established religion. It’s time we pushed back and demanded that they stop establishing their religion in America.

It has long been known that satan attacks the fortress, not the desert. If Rick Perry is bothering satan, then that is where satan will attack. We CHRISTIANS must be in prayer, must be in prayer for all emerging leaders who profess to be CHRISTIANS. They certainly will come under attack.
