‘He Took My Weed’: The Most Bizarre Home Invasion 911 Call You’ll Hear This Week

If you live in Maryland‘s Prince George’s County, hide your drugs. There’s a thief on the loose who wants to take it.

Prince George’s ABC7 News has both a video and print report on the incident. You can watch the video below, which includes a snippet of the odd 911 call. Excerpts of the print report follow.

Apparently, the victim of the robbery called 911, reporting that someone had broken into his house and stolen both his marijuana and rent money.

“I woke up to someone walking into my room, and asking me where my drugs and money were. He took my weed,” said the victim.

Interestingly, even though weed is a contraband substance, the cops decided to pursue the incident anyway, albeit as a drug-related crime, rather than as a simple case of home invasion:

The robbery happened just before 1 p.m. In the 8300 block of Curry Place in Adelphi, not far from the University of Maryland campus in College Park.

A Prince George’s County Police spokesperson says that two of the five students who live at the home were home at the time that three armed, masked men burst in and demanded money. The door was unlocked at the time of the home invasion.[...]

Investigators won’t say how much marijuana was taken. Police are now looking into whether the home was used as a location to sell marijuana or other drugs.

The license plate of the suspects has also been recorded and released to the press. The prosecution of this apparent crime will be something to watch, since theft of contraband goods is still theft. One thing is certain, though – neither the thief nor the victim will want to be cell mates when this is over.

Seems like nearly every college student has WEED.
Where are they getting all this WEED?
I don’t remember ever seeing packets of WEED SEED at the stores.
Are there no under cover drug officers any more?

Lmao! Oooooooh… god! That is rich. I’d be mad too, if I smoked pot and someone stole it from me i’d go nuts. Out of all the drugs we have abused in this country the only I like support in actually weed, mostly because those who smoke it are too mellow to become violent criminals when their supply runs out. But this is absolutely hysterical! LMAO again!

The essence of the harm done by MJ consumption is that the user does not see the absurdity in their actions, AND their positively stupid actions are validated by other potheads. The rest of us just stand around and say huh? Anybody who is stunned by all the stupid behavior in the world today need not look any further than good ol “ harmles” MJ

Ex pothead here. It took ten years to recover from the mental and emotional retardation caused by MJ use. I was left with a keen sense of the absurd thought patterns and actions that are indicative of pot use, and I see them every day in “occupy” movements, political doctrines, and mass shootings.

Legalize? Go ahead, but the idea that it will change anything, or fix anything is just another pot induced illusion.

The real harm of long term MJ use is that the drug convinces the user that it is ok to be stupid, lazy, and generally disconnected from reality. (dare I say zombie like ?)

News flash! As humans our perceptions are so limited and flawed to begin with, why would we put a substance in our bodies that further deteriorates our ability to see, understand and cope with reality?

You completely miss the point of legalization, but congratulations to you for living clean of the evil grass for 10 years.
I used to smoke pot, but don’t anymore because of job obligations. Perhaps it effects individuals differently, because what you describe has not been my experience.

I know of two studies: one under the Nixon administration and one by the World Health Organization which was done while I lived in Ireland. Read about it in the Irish Times. Called my friends stateside to see if it was in the news. It was not. The conclusions of both were that marijuana was less harmful to your health than either tobacco or alcohol. Yet we still have a useless “War on Drugs” and prisons overflowing with non-violent “drug offenders.” Never read a story about a guy getting off work, going home, smoking one up, and beating up the wife. Alochol? Infinite number of times. Logic? Nah, government.

In the late 70s it was legal to grow enough marijuana for personal use. The logic was that under Alaska law it was legal to possess enough for Personal use but it was illegal to sell it or buy it, ergo grow your own.
It was common for burglary reports to show the theft of the TV, stereo and x number of pot plants.

This is the problem with you people. Do you not get that prohibitions turn otherwise functioning individuals who don’t do you harm into “violent” criminals? What do you think you would do if you were being stolen from by a home invader and you couldn’t even call the cops afterwards to tell them the name of the actually violent individual who is breaking into homes and stealing? My guess is that you get armed and you start acting out by forming gangs and the like. While you are sitting there laughing at this poor schmuck, I can’t help but stare at you and think that people like you who cannot reason are destroying this nation and laughing all the way.

There’s an episode of the tv show “Cops” where a woman flags down a police car and tells the officer, “I gave that woman $20 and she didn’t give me my crack!”. She told the officer that the woman either has to return her $20 or give her the crack. The crack dealer’s response, “The isn’t a house of crack, officer, it’s a house of prostitution”

Is it just me, or has this country gone crazy? Get rid of the DOE that is raising this generation of stupid. I was at the zoo on a field day, and was waiting for my grandchild and listened to 2 professional women with their children. They were talking work, children, home, etc. One was black, one white. There was no talk of race. Like most of us, the color of your skin just doesn’t matter, no more than the color of your eyes. It is the uneducated that see color. Get rid of the DOE that is making our citizens stupid for their agenda.

Knew a guy in high school, who told me a story while we were going home on the bus. He had driven to school that day, but was taking the bus home because during school someone broke into his car and robbed him.
Said he was called into the principal’s office, and was freaking out because he had some drugs on him. After flushing his stuff, he went to the office where a police officer and several administrators were waiting. After freaking out for a bit, they informed him someone had broken into his car.
Then went to the parking lot to check it out. They made a list of everything that was missing. Turns out the guy had drugs in the glove box too. When they asked if there was anything in it, he said no. They insisted on opening the glove box anyway.

Fortunately for the guy, the thief stole the drugs as well; the glovebox was emptied.

Later when they caught the thief breaking in to cars in another high school lot, he was charged with possession in a school zone in addition to theft and destruction of property.

    The irony of it all.

Actually, the thing that there is REALLY no excuse for is still believing there’s something wrong with possessing marijuana. Additionally, it’s apparent that no one knew or suspected anything was amiss so it is unlikely that it was affecting her teaching in any major way.

Nobody would be criticizing her and there certainly wouldn’t be anything criminal if she had been brewing her own beer. The fact there is a double standard on this issue is disgusting. It’s especially disgusting that she could possibly be put in prison for years over such a victimless “crime”.

I am a child of the 60‘s and 70’s. I remember how bad it was in the 70′s. This is different. I remember my parents felt certain “things were going to turn around”. People today expect things to get worse, not better. When it becomes illegal to speak out against your leader, illegal gets very fuzzy. Survival is uppermost. They are turning us all into criminals. Growing a plant? Chicken feed compared to talking about God.

I’m with Doctor Nordo on this one. I‘ve never smoked and don’t intend to, mainly because I have more respect for my lungs than to inhale smoke straight from the source, but I do occasionally have a drink. Recently I even tried to make mead (tip, add orange peel and clove to the batch for the first week and use more honey than recommended) and I did end up making alcohol in my home. Alcohol is far more toxic than THC and if you ever look at the structure of DNA, ethanol is embedded in the structure. It is no more harmful or “immoral” for a person to grow a plant with the intent of smoking it than for someone to brew an alcoholic beverage or listen to too loud music. What is immoral is someone going onto another person‘s property and abducting them because they chose to do something with their own property and body that you wouldn’t do.

Now, if someone starts using force and coercion (usually caused by the gang behavior being proliferated by prohibitions), then I have no problem killing them, taking them to jail, or fining them depending upon the level of the offense. If we stop the prohibition, then the growers, buyers, and middleman sellers of drugs will commit far fewer violent offenses. I mean, when was the last time that a family run winery invaded a suburb or metro and started harassing citizens with guns? I’m sure it happened during the alcohol prohibition. It happened all the time. But would you think it could happen today? I seriously doubt you worry about

      SGTB:

Exactly! It never ceases to blow my mind that so many people are blind to the fact that drug crime is directly attributable to prohibition. Legalizing cannabis would have almost 100% positive effects on the U.S: 1) billions saved from the ludicrous “war on drugs”, 2) additional billions of tax revenue, 3) countless thousands of people freed from prison, saving about $40,000+/person-year, 3a) stimulation of the economy from said people being able to return to work, 4) hemp farmers being able to grow a highly valuable plant with hundreds of different uses, from making rope, paper (like the DoI and Constitution are written on – also far more efficient than cutting down forests to make paper), clothing, food, oil (MASSIVELY more effective at producing biofuel than corn-derived ethanol), soap, and SO many other uses.

I guarantee that the Founding Fathers were AT LEAST aware of the intoxicating effects of cannabis, yet that didn’t stop Washington and Jefferson from being some of the biggest fans ever of the plant. And since they were such fans of the plant and were such drunkards is it really a stretch to believe that they imbibed in their favorite crop from time to time?

Wake up, people! You are being blinded by ridiculous laws whose roots are ANYTHING BUT aimed at protecting people!
