PHOENIX (AP) — Rep. Gabrielle Giffords spoke with a clear voice in her first TV interview since she was shot 10 months ago.
The 41-year-old congresswoman was seated with her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, as she talked with ABC’s Diane Sawyer for an interview that will air Monday. A preview was broadcast Thursday on “World News.”
Giffords was wearing a yellow top with gold buttons and dark eyeglasses. Her brown hair has grown out since it was shaved in May for surgery to repair her skull.
When Sawyer asked how she felt, Giffords said, “Pretty good.“ She also said her recovery was ”difficult.”
Giffords is recovering from a brain injury she suffered Jan. 8 when a gunman opened fire outside a Tucson, Ariz., supermarket. Six people were killed and 13 were wounded, including Giffords.

Posted on November 11, 2011 at 11:30amWell said. And the sites, blogs and commenters who constantly state or infer that individuals like her love the country any less than her republican counterparts or are purposely trying to drag it down or damage it really need to get a grip. @patbarker you are a great example of those who truly wish ill will on others but try and mask it through religion.

Angels cannot be killed by head shots, only attacks to the Heart. Angels and democrats have more heart than brain.

Posted on November 11, 2011 at 5:23pmNo they don’t. They are blackhearts if anything. They use people and then cast them aside when they get elected. Look what they do for the blacks- nothing- but then they lie and promise them stuff and get them to vote for them over and over. They are the evils psychos controlling the stupid.

Posted on November 11, 2011 at 10:44amLong before the Media got involved in Pastor Nadarkhani’s situation in Iran: “When the situation with the believers in Iran came to her attention, the congresswoman and her staff embraced the efforts to help free Brother Youcef Nadarkhani and Brother Behrouz Sadegh-Khandjani in Iran. She brought the case before the United States Department of State, where they began efforts to halt the extreme persecution of these believers. We have been in contact with both Mrs. Giffords’ office and the State Department since that time, and the efforts are continuing today. “

Posted on November 11, 2011 at 10:41amThis woman did not deserve to have a deranged maniac shoot her in the head, and her political affiliation does not matter. I am glad that she is getting better and trying to have a positive attitude in an incredibly difficult recovery.

Posted on November 11, 2011 at 10:37amI am glad Mrs. Giffords survived the shooting.
For a woman who has supported abortion in every way (the infanticide of the unborn) and the hellish org. planned parenthood, I pray she turns from her support of darkness and evil. I believe she narrowly missed eternity in hell if she would’ve been killed in the attack…most don’t get a redo..wake up gabby,in Jesus mighty name!! “You can’t serve two masters, you’ll love the one and hate the other”

Posted on November 11, 2011 at 10:04amOkay, this must be said. There has been only staff members representing her district in Arizona since the shooting. There should be a humane and decent way to replace someone in this situation without causing an uproar. The constituents are not being represented. Not Miss Giffords fault, of course, but it’s not all about her, either.

Posted on November 11, 2011 at 9:29amI guess I’m once again lost here. I can understand the Christian perspective of wishing someone well when they’ve been injured, but I’m at a total loss at the discussion of her injury making her potentially unfit for office at this point. Yet forgetting what this woman stood for and her victims when she was voting with her full faculties before her injury. We should hope she can hurry back to Congress to continue her war on the unborn?

Posted on November 11, 2011 at 8:37amI am glad she is recovering however I do not believe it is possible not to have any negative effects from such a trauma. We are told that football players receive permanent brain damage from the hits they take. A 9mm to the brain has got to have greater impact than that.

“Parenthood Matters by Planned Parenthood on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 8:18am
On Friday, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) blogged about an anti-choice amendment introduced in the House by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), which would have denied funding to Planned Parenthood.
Pence’s amendment was soundly defeated 183–247. Let’s hear it for Rep. Giffords and her pro-Planned Parenthood colleagues in the House! ”
