Hear Mitt Romney Sing ‘America the Beautiful’…If You Dare

He’s no Barack Obama.
That’s the conclusion after Mitt Romney was captured singing “America the Beautiful” during a campaign stop in Florida yesterday. The 2012 contender broke out into song while with a group of potential senior voters. And while the idea was touching, the delivery left something to be desired. It comes just a couple weeks after Barack Obama wowed some with his recitation of a classic Al Green song.
Still, it was a patriotic moment that will likely score him points on the trail, especially considering the crowd joined him in the verse. But it might not get him a spot on the choir. See, and listen, for yourself:
As the Washington Post notes, Romney’s been referencing the song during his stump speech. I guess it was only a matter of time until he sang it.

And yet another just flat out doesn’t give a flip, and spends their time watching the ACTUAL American Idol, while our country and currency is being reduced to rubble.
It’s “Paul or nothing” for me. I will not settle for the lesser of two evils. I will not compromise my values. I will not spit on the graves of those who died to protect our Constitution, which is now being used as toilet paper by BOTH corrupt parties.
The blame will be on the shoulders of those who continue to be herded around like sheep led to slaughter. My conscience will be clear.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 1:25pmHe definitely should not sing at his inauguration, if he gets it. But in a crowded church he might sound pretty good. I also agree, I am glad he was singing a patriotic song.
If you saw the whole speech, at the Villages, there was not one mention of Gingrich in it. He never even mentioned his competitors. Gingrich on the other hand only spoke about Romney at the Villages. On the news people were saying that that made up their minds. Romney attacked Obama, Gingrich attacked Romney. Case closed for them.
I just hope that Tea Partiers soon come to an understanding that Romney is truly a conservative. Truly he is. Look at his whole Massachusetts record at http://www.TeaPartyForRomney.com . He is a conservative when it comes to the Social Issues, Fiscal, and Defense. He may not be the best conservative but he is the best conservative that can change this economy around and stop the tax hikes, government spending, and finally balance our budget. He did this in Massachusetts with 85% opposition to him.

I respect your right to vote for a candidate you believe to fit your understanding of the principles of the Constitution, however, the ObamaCare is not the same as RomneyCare. Obama just hijack the name of Romney to make the public believe that it is the same but the truth of the matter is–it is not the same. Here is the link that might help annalized your thoughts and understanding. Another point is that—Romney is a true constitutionalist–he believes on traditional American strong principles and values where our Founding Fathers started.

Now that he has a shot at being President, of course he talks the talk. Any RINO can talk the talk when called upon to do so. It’s how GW Bush got elected.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 11:28am@ Abraham Young – Romney has said countless times that health-care is a state issue. It’s what the people of Mass. demanded. The liberal media wants all of you to think it’s exactly the same as Obamacare because they are politically posturing and have been for years because they knew Mitt would have a good chance of running against him for re-election. It’s VASTLY different than Obama care and Mitt has said he will use an executive order to start the process of repealing it. It is a state issue. If you don’t agree the consituents who demanded it, move to another state or get involved in the community instead of bashing good leaders who are doing a good job. You sounds like the liberal media… listen to yourself!

Health care may or may not be a state issue, but my observation has nothing to do with that. My observation is that Romneycare is founded upon principles of socialism. Romneycare has nothing to do with free market principled economics. It has everything to do with share the wealth, forced redistribution. If you think that sounds at all “liberal” – listen to yourself more closely.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 1:49pm@ Young…
I can see where you are coming from, but it’s almost a catch 22. There were 10% of the people in the state that were not insured. However, they could go to a hospital and recieve full care on someone elses dime. I’m sure both you and I could agree that is not right.
Romney said, if don’t have insurance through any place else, we’ll make sure there is an option for you, because you cannot continue to get the free ride. He encouraged the private insurance market very much over a last resort state option. One of the huge drags on Mass. economy was people “mooching” off a system that can’t turn them away. It’s the same reason illegal immigration is such a problem. Our system is providing them incentives to stay. We need to get rid of those incentives… and they will begin to self deport.
The Obamaplan vision is trying to slowly take control of the private insurance market and eventually put it all in government control. There is a huge difference. I don’t even necessarily agree with Romney care, but I understand why he did it. The people of mass and the state leaders were demanding help. This was a solution.
Obama saw a great opportunity to take an small part of Romney’s plan and put his socialistic garbage all over it, then call it virtually the same. It’s political posturing. It’s ugly. Do the research on it. You’ll find out the reason for it. Mitt said that it is very different then the plan for Mass. and he will repeal it and give power

I can assure that his intentions are good and his motives pure. He has made mistakes (ie. Prolife), but admitted them and has never changed them since (as the media would have you believe. He has always fought strongly for marriage between a man and women. He organized and joined many groups and coalitions that supported the traditional view of marriage. He pleaded with the courts in Mass, but it was the courts and the vast majority of democratic leaders in the state that passed many of the same-sex laws. Romney has fought for the rights of all people, black or white, gay or straight… they all have equal rights, but he believes marriage is not a “right”. I have full confidence that he is running for the right reasons. He has been unfairly slandered left and right, ridiculed and demeaned at every turn, but he has said in his strategy meetings fromt he beginning that he will strive to take the high road on all of those issues. I just pray he is prepared to take on the barrage of lies that will come at him from Obama and the liberal media about his faith. Keep him in your prayers.

We beileve that we are all God’s children and that we lived with him in spirit before we came to this earth. We came to this earth to recieve a body of flesh and blood. To learn to excerise faith and moral character, to make commitments and to God and to stick them, to serve our fellow men and thereby serve our God in the process. We believe Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He was born in the flesh, lived a perfect life and was a sinless sacrifice for our sins and misdeeds. He did indeed rise again 3 days later as fortold by prophets and broke the bands of death that we might live again.
We believe his gospel and authority was lost from the earth after the remaining apostles which he ordained were killed. We believe that same Gospel was then restored on the earth in the 1800′s on this American continent, which was endowed by the Creator for religious freedom. With a country with founded on religous freedom and equality, I believe God felt the time was right to restore his gospel once again to the earth. This includes prophets and apostles, His holy priesthood (authority to act in the name of God), and revelation. We believe God once again speaks to man, we believe in prophets, apostles, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
With that understanding and knowledge, I hope it’s easier to understand the answer to your question. We believe the in the Bible, as far as it is translated correctly. We believe that much has been… CONT…
Report Post »ImMormon
Posted on January 31, 2012 at 4:28pmCONT… We believe there was doctrine as the bible was compiled and there were also things lost during it’s many translations. One of the reasons being when the bible was compiled it was not compiled by someone who had God’s priesthood authority. The Bible is an amazing book that I hold dear! It contains precious truths. But we believe that through modern revelation that God can help us understand his words.
There was not much included in the bible about our life before this earth. But we believe that we lived with God and that Jesus Christ our elder brother presented God’s plan for us to come to this earth, gain a body of flesh and blood, that we may be like Him, and return to live in His presence. There was another brother who presented a plan that was in direct opposition to God’s plan. That plan was rejected and that brother was cast out of the presence of God and is now on earth to tempt us and try us. For he wants us to be miserable like unto himself. This brother was Lucifer.
Now, I have been completely honest with you, and answered your question that I’m sure was fed to you out of context by other pastors who do not agree with our beliefs. You probably have 1000 other questions, as you should. But I encourage you to seek answers to those questions from the source. A good place to start is www. mormon.org, finding those young 20 year missionaries to answer questions isn’t a bad idea either, if you truely want to know, rather than to incite rebelrousing.

If you truely want to know for yourself answers to questions about our beliefs. I’ve given you the sources to start your research at.
In my mind the most important thing to look for in a candidate is someone with high moral fortitude, a strong character, and an inspiring leader. I can assure you that Mr. Romney has all of the above. I believe those who say otherwise, either have not researched him for themselves and are guilty of listening to our corrupt media sources, or have strong disagreements with our religious doctring, which is just plain silly. I like Santorum as well because of his adherence to those principles stated above. I would also take Paul over Gingrich, but neither of them are appealing to me.

Look in the mirror and ask yourself this question, “who am I and what do I really stand for?” It doesn’t matter what your answer you come up with. Just listen to yourself. :) It is your inner-self talking back to you.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 10:03amI’m LDS. I stand for Ron Paul.
Thank you very much. No need to thank me, just doing my duty with a clear conscience.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 9:50amGonzo,
Did you seriously have to play the religion card? What if people were using that against all Christians, you would be up in arms, wouldn’t you… unless your an atheist.
He is the best because he has turned around almost every economy he worked on, Bain Capitol, Olympics, Massachusetts… He is the only candidate we have that is sole reason. Gingrich had a majority of the Congress, most of the bills passed weren’t even his. Romney had everything against him and he fought for tax cuts, balancing the budget, cutting govt spending, welfare reform, cut in pork. He has accomplished more than any other candidate with a 85% opposition. Now that is impressive, and he did it while acting like a conservative: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=iMPljKNzD3U

A vote for Romney is a vote for Obamacare. Bleah.

The economy is nothing more than a symptom of this nation’s main problem. It will do no good to fix the economy and keep things like Obomneycare. We need to fix the real problem and the economy will heal itself long term.
(It’s interesting that my spell checker suggests “Abominate” as a correction for “Obomneycare”.)

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 10:05amHey Tea Party, Do you really want to vote for a man that openly denies the divinity of Christ? If you think Mormonism is just another denomination of Christianity, you are dead wrong. It’s a rotten choice the Republican establishment has given us.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 10:08amI’m a Mormon, but not a liberal one. I agree with Gonzo. Romney ain’t no Washington. He ain’t really a Romney either. Based on his politics, he may have been adopted.

They don’t call it Tax-a-chusetts for nothing.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 10:13amYou should know that Romney would repeal ObamaCare because one Romney is a federalist, the power should be to the states. For all those that hate Romney and think he just wants fame and power, wouldn’t he want to SAVE the country from ObamaCare, since it is hated, and then replace it with something of his own and something that America would like and would like to keep. Americans want a system that works, if Romney just wants power and influence than he would want to give them what they want and they want a system that works. At that point, Romney is still the better candidate.
Gingrich is the only one that has favored the federal individual mandate.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 10:21amGonzo, you seem to have swallowed the red pill. Mormons ARE Christians, despite what your pastor may have told you.
Here you can brush up on your subject:

Christ is the center of our religion. His teachings are dear to me and my heart. He is the Master, the living Christ, the Savior and Redeemer.
But that still doesn’t make a Romney a good candidate for President. I’m with the Ron Paul crowd. I’ve read the Constitution. I know what it means. I don’t believe Romney does, or he would not have supported Romneycare.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 10:27amYou should know that in principle Romneycare is the same as Obamacare. A violation of free agency is a violation of free agency, whether at the state or the federal level.
The Tea Party is not for Romney. If they had been, the Iowa results would not have been so muddied.
Romney is a red herring, I don’t care what anybody says.

You say Christ is the “center of our religion”. Yet you are voting for Ron Paul?
Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but you are clueless………………

I don’t have the time, patience or inclination to try to school you any farther, but there are plenty more reasons that a Christian would/should turn away from Paul. And that doesn’t even take into account just the common sense reasons. But the main reason I won’t even consider Paul is because of my Christian world view and conscience.

Christians should turn away from Paul?
And you call yourself Rational?
I don’t follow. But then, you don’t have the time patience or inclination, I would say , you also don’t have the true doctrine to support your dubious hypothesis.
