Hear The Voicemail Left By the Wash. Dad Moments Before He Chopped and Burned His Sons

GRAHAM, Wash. (AP) — Before setting his house ablaze and killing himself and his two young sons, Josh Powell left a voicemail for family members saying he couldn‘t live without the boys and didn’t want to go on anymore.

ABC News obtained what it says was a voicemail Powell left for his family members. In the recording played Tuesday on “Good Morning America” Powell also said he was calling to say goodbye and apologize.
“I‘m sorry to everyone I’ve hurt,” he is heard saying. “Goodbye.”
Powell, the husband of missing Utah woman Susan Powell, died along with his children Sunday in Washington. An autopsy showed the children also suffered hatchet wounds to their necks. He was a person of interest in his wife’s 2009 disappearance.
As authorities work to determine exactly why Powell committed the murders at the Washington residence, investigators said they‘re no closer to answering the question they’ve had for two years.
“We still haven’t identified or found where Susan Powell is,” said West Valley, Utah, Police Chief Buzz Nielsen, who is in charge of the investigation into the young mother’s disappearance.
The father of the 5- and 7-year-old boys painted himself as a tortured man, ridiculed without reason in the disappearance of his wife, steadfastly insisting he was innocent until the end.

The guilt of committing Susan’s murder certainly haunted him,and rightly so….that’s how guilt works. He should have killed himself and taken his loser, pervert father with him instead of those two innocent boys. I think a lot of the problems with this whole situation started with Steven Powell….the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

The missing Mom may have been a lovely lady, but she made a hideous mistake in picking this man as her kids’ father. We must keep our guard against evil.

It’s crazy…..I go to Chicago every week now,(I live 3 hours away) to babysit our granddaughter and the more I am here, the more I hate this city, any large city for that matter……the depravity, the isolation, the self indulgent, self centered and disconnected people who live in the cities is just unbelievable. But I feel that I am a bright light in the babies life, along with her parents and hopefully, she will realize as she gets older, how important the grandparents are in her life. Family and friends are the only thing that is important ……..God Bless those little boys and their mother…..we all know where the father went

My wife left and took my son for a year and a half when we were first married, murder never even entered my mind. We have since reconsiled and will be celebrating our 15th anniversary this spring and we now have 4 children. See that is how innocent men go through life, dealing with and fixing problems and having a family, not embroiled in murder investigations before brutalizing their children before committing suicide.

The police were set to arrest him soon ( possibly by summer ) and he felt this was the only way out for him.

Those who “govern” over us are motivated by mere selfish ambition with no sense of duty to the people or the betterment of our country. God will not be mocked. A man (and a nation) will reap what it sows. I feel sad for the younger generations growing up in America right now.
