Hecklers Hound Sheen to Early Exit From Big Radio City Show in NYC

There was nothing “winning” about Charlie Sheen’s one-man show in New York Friday night.
The hard-partying actor took to the stage of Radio City Music Hall as part of his “Violent Torpedo of Truth” tour to deliver an hour-long profanity-laden ramble that was vaguely coherent at best and sordid and self-indulgent at worst.
Sheen, 45, sauntered onto the stage 35 minutes late to a standing ovation from a raucous and optimistic crowd that cheered and shouted, “I love you, Charlie.”
Barely an hour later, the same audience filtered out of the famed Sixth Ave. venue baffled by the actor’s performance and questioning why they had parted with their hard-earned cash.
Charlie Sheen left the stage 30 minutes early at his show in New York on Friday night after audience members heckled him throughout the performance.
The former Two and a Half Men star is currently travelling the U.S. with his My Violent Torpedo Of Truth/Defeat Is Not An Option tour.
The performances have received mixed reactions from audiences, and the crowd at Manhattan’s Radio City Music Hall was less than impressed with Sheen, according to TMZ.com.
During the show, Sheen received boos from the audience after declaring he had quit drugs. The actor went on to fuel his public war of words with Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre by daring the TV boss to join him onstage at the venue on Sunday. He said, “(Let’s) work this s**t out. Of course I want my job back man!”
The show wasn’t amusing, not even for the drunk frat boy set, and for every cheer he received there were many more disgruntled fans boo-ing him. Eric Stangel of The Late Show with David Letterman was on hand, and recapped it pretty well by saying, “he had the crowd, he lost the crowd, he ripped off the crowd.” The show was simply Sheen sitting there drinking red Gatorade (Tiger’s Blood? Vodka Crans?), chain smoking, spewing his catch phrases, and trying to tell stories that might engage the audience

Posted on April 9, 2011 at 1:33pmPlease, refrain from covering this disturbed man. It is irrelevant and not news. Perhaps the only relevant news in this whole debacle is the unsettling fact that there are segments of the American population willing to spend money to see a degenerate, drug-addled, lunatic have an on-stage nervous breakdown.

Two and a Half Men was great because they had good writers and actors as a team. Charlie is nothing solo. He was better at being paid to lie (acting) than he is at telling the truth as he sees it.

Posted on April 9, 2011 at 12:12pmBoring… Sheen is useless. My question is: Is GB’s TV show now officially over? What happened to the Israel special that was supposed to be yesterday? I came home, and went to the DVR, and the usual news bunch. So I set my DVR to catch the replay of GB later, thinking he got pre-empted due to the shutdown mess. This morning, I look and no replay… Only some Red-Eye crap?
If this is the way GB ends on Fox, I’m done with Fox.

Morning, glad all is good there and sunny. Raining today like nothing and allergies are driving me nuts along with the moisture in the air. Hard to breath at times, and I have birds all over my balcony taking shelter from the rain, driving my cat nuts.
That kind of lets me feel how these people did when they walked out of the Sheen show, confused and miserable for their wasting all of that good money and lost time on garbage.
Come to think of it, Sheen kind of reminds me of the left and progressives of Congress, and of the White House.

Posted on April 9, 2011 at 3:55pmThis is more serious than most people recognize. Can anybody out there possibly help this man at this point? I don’t think so, not until Charlie first believes he needs help and wants that help. I think what needs to be done is that the people who love Charlie, and I’m sure there are some out there, must first get together to discuss what can be done. We have to try to raise Charlie’s bottom before this thing kills him or someone else, or puts him in a permanent state of insanity or along on a long-term stint in prison. One or the other will happen, guaranteed. Charlie will either get sobered up, locked up, or covered up, but he cannot continue on like this. It is sad, but all his money is just delaying the final outcome. Somebody has to do something. His family, his friends, co-workers, or whoever, but he cannot do it or even understand it on his own. All one needs to do is look in Charlie’s eyes to see his pain. I really believe it doesn’t have to be this way. I’m not talking about giving sympathy, just showing empathy. Many of us have been to this place ourselves and know his pain. We well recall how we couldn’t give up, surrender and admit defeat to this lifestyle. We fought to keep the pain to ourselves, and that is part of the illness. Charlie’s career might be over, but his life needn’t be. Please lets try not to laugh at Charlie, but help him instead.

Posted on April 9, 2011 at 4:04pmThis man is dying before our eyes. LOSING! Paying money to see him is contributing to his demise.
