Helen Thomas Defends Anti-Jewish Remarks by Making More Anti-Jewish Remarks

Remember Helen Thomas? She’s the White House reporter that was forced to apologize and resign after saying this summer that Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine” and go home. So how does a disgraced journalist react to questions about those controversial comments? By making more of them, and saying that “Zionists” run the world.
Thomas made the remarks in Michigan at a conference on anti-Arab bias. The Detroit Free Press reports on her comments, which included the stereotype that “rich” Jews control everything:
In an interview, Thomas, 90, said that criticizing Israel led to her resignation and ostracism in Washington.
“I can call a president of the United States anything in the book, but I can’t touch Israel, which has Jewish-only roads in the West Bank,” Thomas said. “No American would tolerate that — white-only roads.” …
In a speech to about 300 people inside a center in Dearborn, she talked about “the whole question of money involved in politics.”
“Congress, the White House and Hollywood, Wall Street are owned by the Zionists. No question, in my opinion,” she said. “They put their money where their mouth is. … We’re being pushed into a wrong direction in every way.”
When asked how she would respond to those who call her an anti-Semite, she said, “I‘d say I’m a Semite. What are you talking about?”

This seems to be her inspiration, she is more to be pitied rather than hated. She is consumed by an evil, I do hope she decides that aligning herself with Ahmadinejad and his antisemitic cronies is something she should reconsider.

It was an hour of my life that I will never be able to get back…she’s an awful person. At the end, the crowd gave her a standing ovation-I just sat there in the front row. Couldn’t even bring myself to politely clap. Former US Representative Paul Findley (an IC alum and apparently partner in hate) walked by me and looked at me like he couldn‘t believe that I wouldn’t applaud.

My point is that most every criticism of Jews in this country is met immediately with hostile cries of anti-Semitism intended to shut down discussion. I simply ran with the Jews-run-everything theme since that was Thomas’ point (for which she was attacked) and Stein’s point (for which he was not attacked). Why is Helen branded an anti-Semite while Stein – saying the same thing – is not?
In Europe, she could go to jail for her statements. Does that seem right?
I maintain Thomas is on this point correct: You can criticize anyone as long as they aren’t of Jewish descent.
