Here Are 3 Things Mitt Romney Needs to Do in His Speech Tonight

A panel of the GOP’s top strategists met on Thursday to discuss the three things Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney must say in his convention speech in order to increase his chances of winning the election.

A few strategists disagreed on the areas the Republican candidate should focus on, but they all agreed on one thing: Romney needs to make tonight’s speech, arguably the most important of his career, a forceful one to remember.

Here are the three things Mitt Romney must focus on in tonight’s speech [via American Enterprise Institute]:

‘Present a Vision for the Future of the Country’

Here Are 3 Things Mitt Romney Needs to do in His Speech Tonight“Most people know what he is against and what he will undo, but they don’t yet know what he is going to do and how he is going to do it, and that is the big challenge for tonight’s speech,” said Terry Nelson, George W. Bush’s 2004 political director.

‘Let People See Mitt The Person’

Here Are 3 Things Mitt Romney Needs to do in His Speech TonightOne-in-three Americans say they know very little about candidate Romney, panel moderator Bob Schieffer noted. Considering the fact that the former Massachusetts governor has been gunning for this nomination since 2007, that number shouldn’t be that high.

John Brabender, former senior adviser to Rick Santorum, said listing Romney’s personal biography isn’t going to be enough.

“The biography point needs to be something that illustrates a bigger point. What he in some sense has to do is let people into his heart and mind a little bit and make a personal judgment about him,” he said.

Here Are 3 Things Mitt Romney Needs to do in His Speech Tonight

‘Present Something New’

Here Are 3 Things Mitt Romney Needs to do in His Speech Tonight

Former George W. Bush campaign strategist Sara Fagen says the Romney campaign needs to stop being coy about specific policy plans.

“What we most importantly need in addition to the human side of this, is something new,” she said. “There hasn’t been anything new from a policy perspective that has really broken through in the last many months … He’s got to boil it down to two or three things tonight that resonate, that feel like they are new.”

Here Are 3 Things Mitt Romney Needs to do in His Speech TonightShould Romney take the panelists‘ advice and incorporate all of the above into tonight’s speech, they believe he would greatly improve his chances of becoming the next president of the United States.

“Sara Fagen predicted that there would be a ‘breakout moment’ when the momentum will shift decisively to one campaign or the other,” Henrik Temp reports for AEI.

“Brabender agreed, saying that he thinks it’s entirely possible that we will see a late and dramatic shift away from President Obama in the final week or two of the campaign; as he called it, a ‘collapse’ for Obama,” Temp adds.

It wouldn’t be the first time this happened. You may recall that in the final weeks of the 1980 election, Jimmy Carter actually led Ronald Reagan in most polls. It wasn’t until Americans decided that Reagan was the safe and wise bet that they dumped Carter.

It’s entirely plausible the same could happen in 2012. However, Romney has to prove that he’s the safe and reliable bet. Heeding the advice of Thursday’s strategist panel could certainly make that happen.

Maybe Mitt should address why the American Dream was taken from the founding white stock and given it you another people. Honestly there is no future for whites in America anymore:

ASIA FOR THE ASIANS, AFRICA FOR THE AFRICANS, WHITE COUNTRIES FOR EVERYBODY!
Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries.
The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.
Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.
What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?
How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?
And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?
But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.

Romney will do less damage than obuma, maybe we could get Rand in next time ? or something, but if obuma gets in again, this country may never be able to come back, I’m not kidding, I wanted Ron too, but its not going to happen, ron keeps on with that BS that islam only attacks because we occupy their contries etc .. NO islam attacks because the koran and mohhamed tell them to, they attack countries that have NEVER occupied their countries, if ron had just not talked about it, maybe he would be president ……

@Kalish, I’m not convinced of that. Between his warmongering rhetoric and his national security advisers, I actually think he’ll cause more harm than the sack of crap we currently have in the WH. We’re over extended, tired and broke. Financial collapse is most likely how we’ll die, but the conflict he talks about, I believe, will spiral out of control and we’ll end up seeing war here in the states.

Mitt Romney doesn’t have to do anything.
    He’s already done it all.

He’s the guy President Obama was talking about .

    Staples didn’t build their business
    Neither did that steel company
Neither did that day care company.

    Mitt Built it.

    Mitt Built the Olympics too.

Mitt healed the country’s wounds after 911.

None of us built it It Was Mitt.

The hypocrisy of the GOP was never greater.

This maybe a duplicate, I don’t see my first post.
I wish The Republican party would get commentators that reflect how they think. I hated it when the cameras left the floor and had to listen to them. They were just waiting their turn to through something negative out.
I don’t get it, why do people say they need to know more personally. I found for myself, people who want to know more personally, want something so they can prepare the information for ridicule, they don’t care to know to make decision.
I support legal immigration. When people come here legally, they show they have respect for the country that will allow them freedom and the chance to be successful, to worship as they please. Illegal immigrants want to work by their own rules, and laws. If they are given amnesty I will feel betrayed.

I don’t understand why they keep going on and on about how we need to know more about Mitt. It sounds like a girl thing. I like to be judged based on what I do and actions. When I worked, I thought the results of my work should be enough to show I was serious about my job. Then there were those women who wanted to know more personally. I thought what does personally have to do with doing my job? I didn’t want to talk about my politics or religious beliefs because they had nothing to do with getting the job done; and I didn’t want to spend my time debating over issues that had nothing to do with the job. This sounds like a girl thing. I only care about what affects us. The commentators; couldn‘t they have found some that weren’t waiting for their turn to throw out a negative. These type of personalities belong with the Democrats, I wished Conservatives would bring in people with a desire to see a positive light. Unfortunately, when the point was brought up about illegal immigration, I am not for amnesty. I almost want to vote for Obama out of anger, because the reason America is great, and legal immigrates do good is because they respect rules and laws and speaking English out of respect for the country that has done so much for them. If they are granted amnesty I will feel betrayed.

Screw-Windows, We are not pouting, we believe we have won in some respects, and with Romney and the RNC pulling the shenanigans they did at the convention plus changing rules to take the vote away from the states and putting it completely in the hands of the few in power, this has energized our base and is bringing in more Tea Party voters left and right. Romney will lose because of this and this makes us happy. Our next fight will be helping Gary Johnson as the RNC and Romney campaign has turned their thuggery politics toward him to try and silence another Liberty candidate, but you guys are all OK with that because you do not truly believe in the American way of freedom and individual liberty. So the first part of your name to you.

Please go see 2016 before you abandon the country to the current Marxist administration. We have no chance to keep our remaining freedoms and liberty if Obama is re-elected. Many of us in the Tea Party don’t necessarily agree with the choice of Romney but he is much less dangerous and we stand a much better chance with him than with the current president. Don‘t do something stupid because you’re upset. Remember, the Progressive have been working to destroy this country for over 100 years now and will continue forward. Do you want to help them with that?

Or about how when you take an Oath on the Bible you still are not telling the truth, except the truth you want to believe – which makes you think you’re telling the truth. You should always not hold back words, but let God help with your words, and decide how others will hear it.

It doesn‘t matter what Mitt says because he’s known as a flip flopper. The republican cheerleaders are going to vote for him regardless. The Libertarians/Constitutionalists aren’t. The Independents will probably sit at home for the most part because it’s another choice between two complete douche bags, which is probably best for Romney considering he’s not really offering them anything but a war and higher gas prices. I just can‘t imagine anything he says will change anyone’s mind at this point. I know I‘m going to watch college football because I don’t care what anyone that the supports the NDAA, Patriot Act, etc. has to say.

You couldn’t.

What Romney needs to do is first, tell us that the rules changes that were put in place will be rescinded and will never be put back in place as it takes the peoples voice away and we are supposed to be in charge not the establishment. But, he will not do that and that alone will be his demise. I am spreading the word about this slap in the face to all voters of all states and it will not be tolerated.
