Here are Some of the Authentic Military Weapons Used in the Movie ‘Battleship’

The 2012 Universal Pictures film “Battleship” isn’t just an amped up version of the B4-miss, H9-hit board game. It’s supercharged with the enemy ships being alien vessels that land in response to a NASA signal that was beamed toward their Earth-like planet.
Although the aliens and their vessels might be fictitious, some of the artillery used to battle them in the wargame-like flick are the real deal. Business Insider pulled together a list of the authentic weapons featured in the movie from the Internet Movie Firearms Database. Beyond just the usual pistols and assault rifles, below are just a few images of the more heavy duty gear they utilize:

unless it‘s been updated in the last 10 years or so the CIWS can’t tell an incoming missile from a diving sea bird. and the IFF (Identify Friend or Foe) works…sometimes. more often than not it doesn’t work at all. so make sure the whole thing is OFF before you try to land on the back of that FFG, ok?

Loved seeing our brave military portrayed respectfully.
One of the actors was a real double amputee vet. No Photoshop.

I had a great time and enoyed a film that wasn’t filthy and degrading and not cursing the whole way through..

One of the main characters in the movie is a double leg amputee vetern.

I admit when I heard she was in it I though that they would find some way to have her save the day and be barely wearing any clothes while doing it. But that didn’t happen. I was actually surprised shedid a good job in the acting dept. The movie was good.

It’s actually two a day through out the US! One in seven hospitals are on the brink of closing due to Fed mandates to treat Illegals, basically for free! They get 30% +/- reimbursement from the Feds to cover these expenses! It’s criminal to say the least!

Posted on May 22, 2012 at 2:29pmI’m almost 67, spent 26 years as a Navy wife, and I loved this movie. Plain old fun, kinda like Independance Day. It helped that I had read the book, so I got the little sides because I knew more about the characters. It was a commentary on what if tech of today doesn’t work, what’s left? Plus seeing the “old” navy guys was a treat. Loved an old “steaming” guy, and this brought back some special days in my life on the pier. It’s fun, period.
