Here We Go Again: Christie Fuels VP Rumors During Interview With Romney

WASHINGTON (The Blaze/AP) — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie would be on anybody’s short list for a vice presidential running mate. Romney calls Christie an “extraordinary person” and “one of the leading figures in the Republican party.”

The two appeared together on NBC’s “Today” show – and pointedly didn’t reject running mate rumors – the day after Christie handed Romney his endorsement. Asked if Christie would make a good match for a ticket with him, Romney said the two are great friends who agree on a host of issues.

Christie, who had considered running for president himself, says he hasn’t been promised a spot on the ticket, or anything else, in return for his endorsement. And Romney hinted in one of his answers that Christie hasn’t taken his name out of the running (be sure to catch the eyebrow raise after one of the questions):

But Christie has shot down the idea of being the VP before. In June he told NBC, “Seriously, forget it,” and during his press conference last week announcing he would not run for president, he said “I’m not looking for that job.”

Still, some felt he left the door open by adding plenty of qualifiers such as, “I don’t see it happening“ and ”I don’t think there’s anybody in America who would think my personality is best suited to being number two.”

Here we go again.

      Doesn’t matter which one wins.

BOTH have ESTABLISHED RECORDS of appointing ONLY LIBERAL judges to the bench . Both even appointed gay liberal judges.

We’ll get another KAGAN on the Supreme Court with with either Obama or Romney.

Look…for all of you angry and depressed disenfranchised idiots who aren’t getting it (obviously pretty much all who have commented here)…you have listened to all the wrong people! Rush is out there this week giving bad advice, Beck is giving bad advice, they are both pushing and pandering to the extreme far right who are going over a cliff! They’ve gone too far and are not guiding, they’re frustrating! Christie is seeing what sooo many others see….THE BIG PICTURE! Romney is a great candidate! He does so well in the debates because he makes complete sense! He’s genuine and caring! He will turn this country around against the will of most of the tea partiers! It would be sooo much easier with their support! 2 years from now they’re going to be kicking themselves for making this so hard out of their paranoia to anyone trying to help! You are RIGHT. All I care about at this time, this critical time, is the ECONOMY. I want it back! I want it back NOW, and I don’t want to fool around. If Paul gets in he puts us in a bigger world of hurt as he trims the FED RESERVE back and who knows what interest rates that would bring in the short term. Or if any of the others get in there, they just don’t know how to fix things.

Truth is, ROMNEY does have a track record of doing great and innovative things to fix things and to grow jobs. I was not going to vote for Romney, but Paul, but now I see how important it is to get our economy going again, I am going for the best SHORT TERM FIX right now. We need it because we are going UNDER.

Following all the hoopla about the completion of the slate of candidates, the Republican Party seems, predictably, to be on track to nominate Romney, another hold-over from the last election.
With terrorism the foremost national security issue, Romney must remove the gentleman’s gloves and convince the electorate he is tough enough to confront the threat.
The Supreme Court’s ruling on the unpopular Obamacare, whether the individual mandate is upheld or deemed unconstitutional, also highlights Romneycare right before the election.
Finally, fair or not, polls show that about 18% of Republicans and 26% of regular church goers are concerned about Romney’s Mormon faith. With Christie on the ticket, the northeast is the only segment of the country represented.

God is not a Republican. Why any of these extremists keep bringing up religion is amazingly silly. Its as if they would ask God what color to paint their house, or what shirt to wear today, or ask God, what should I eat for breakfast. Fact is, God doesn’t care about what WE choose in day to day things, and He doesn’t care about our politics, so leave religion OUT of it, its nonsense to think He (God) cares about what religion a person is who serves as a government servant. The two are unrelated.

are you all duped into thinking that there ever were two political parties? They may have different names, but only the centrists ever get elected. Face the facts, you will never get an extreme left or extreme right president. Don’t even try it in this 50/50 country.

obama is center? really, this is what you think? I actually don’t disagree that the 2-party system is a facade, but obama in the center is laughable.

Chris Christie lost my vote when he backed romney. romney is NOT a Conservative. he is more of the same, the elitists, the entitled. NO WAY, romney. And now, NO WAY, Christie. You sold out!

If you haven‘t seen Ann Blanchard’s video on romney, you need to right now. Then watch her videos on islam…and the mutilation of ALL muslim women….that’ll get your morning off to a big reality check.

GOD BLESS, PROTECT, WAKE US UP, and get us going, folks. In JESUS’ name, amen.

Such extremism. Oh yes, let’s get behind this wonderful Ann lady, who BURNS THE KORAN and incites hatred, yeah, that sounds good, lets get people of all religions not of our own to hate us even more. Why would you want to do this? Are you guys from the Salem Witch Burning days???

Is THIS why you have a problem with Romney? His religion??? GROW UP. This is America, but you seem to think its like IRAN except with your spin or brand of christianity only. I am really bothered by the self righteousness.
