Here We Go Again: Obama Back to Omitting ‘Creator’ From Declaration

I propose a new drinking game. And this is one even a recovering alcoholic can play.

For every time that Barack Obama recognizes that the Declaration of Independence has the word “Creator” in it this campaign season, we all have to take a shot. So for example, when he quotes the phrase “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights,” we all drink. Simple.

But it probably won’t be that much fun. That’s because if we all decide to play, we’ll probably end up like Glenn — sober.

As we’ve noted several times, Obama has a habit of leaving out “Creator” when he quotes the founding document (see here, here, and here). And he did it once again while speaking to supporters in San Francisco last night:

Oversight? Does he think it’s unnecessary? Or maybe, do you think he’s just trying to save us from alcoholism?

By the way, if you were playing the game last year, you would have had to take two (2) shots.

    AS articulate as Obama is, his speach writers are even more. Regardless of how his religous views may be, his staff is definitely left of the pew. His words were chosen carefully to appease the San Francisco crowd. These people know how to raise money they know how to whip the crowds into a frenzy. What words to say and omit. We must show them that these elections cannot be bought. The truth will out!

      Not sure quoting a book that was written hundreds of years after the events allegedly happened, then selectively edited over the years since, can be considered a reliable source…

      And honestly, the whole issue with Glenn and his “research”, it’s the spin on the facts, and conclusions that are not especially rooted in reality.

      Actually, they were not written hundreds of years after the event happened and there is more historical evidence that Jesus was crucified than most other events in history. In this case, John was there when Christ was crucified. There has been no editing, only translation updates. I mean, we don’t speak old English any more do we?

Revelations, is thought to have been written by John in 4ad., the dead sea scrolls, which contain Johns writings are thought to be date around 34ad. The Book of revelation is a Phrophetic book, and when viewed in conjunction with the book of Daniel these books unlock one anothers prophecies. “for all scripture is given by Devine inspiration and is fit for instruction, edification, and rebuke” I could go into a days long discussion with you line by line of Daniel/ revelations and show you much of human history foretold, up to and including America at her founding until today. God has shown what is coming “GOD does no thing, save that it be show through his prophets”, Sad that your choice is to deny Jesus, but that is your right, leave us to our beliefs.

      Yes. Granted. Fine. Some of the books weren’t. Doesn’t make any of it factual. Not a word. What about all the borrowing the bible did? As Glenn always says, do your research. You find some startling similarities from a bunch of earlier religions that mirror stories from the bible. There is no proof Jesus even existed. I’m sorry, but there isn’t. And believing so doesn’t make it true.

      I’m not against people believing what they do. Whatever works for you! Great. Live yoru life. Do what you do. But then look at this article. Why does it even exist? Who’s pushing their views on who? I don’t want to abolish religion. And I’m sorry, but there’s a much more vigorous push to make us a christian nation, bring us back to our roots if you will, than a secular one.

      And there are just as many horrifying stories involving chrisitanity as there are islam. The acts of a few militant,evil people do not represent an entire religion. If that was the case, I’d have to assume all christians are bigoted child rapists. But that’s just crazy…

      I most certainly agree, that Christians are the greatest threat to Christianity. All I can do is be sola scriptura, that is word of GOD alone. I don’t hold to the theology of man that churches teach as truth, or war over. I try with all my heart to do as my savior taught me to do, to love my neighbor as myself, and to love GOD with my entire being. But I fail sometimes, my tongue, my heart betray me and I make foolishness of GODs word, that makes me human, and still in need of a svaior. I live to point to the one who can save, Jesus, but it is the “I” that is seen, and I am flawed.
      I do find it interesting the parallels between the BIBLE and other works like the Epic of Gilgamesh, as well as to other early religions and cultural stories. One puzzlement, or inconsistency from non believers strikes me, the normal stance is no proof of biblical flood and the refute to the word of GOD is all cultures speak of a flood. Which us it, I don’t get the paradox? The earliest cultures that we know of worshiped sinaramus, a form if sun worship, and the parallels are stunning, but if Abraham is the Father of all nations then that similarity is not only understandable, but can be expected.

      @BetterDays. The issue with shared experiences throughout the bible isn’t proof of supernatural intervention. It could have been an asteroid hit, a tsunami, any number of natural events. But sadly none of them proof the existence of a god. At our core, us atheists just think that a believable, provable explanation for the existence of an all powerful supernatural creator hasn’t been proposed. That’s all. And it’s not up to me to prove anything. It’s up to the believer. I’m not setting forth a theory.

      I think the big thing though is that our minds can be changed…

      I can assure you that GOD is very much alive and real. Once I was like you, doubtful. But I have received answers to prayers said silently in my head, with physical, tangible results within hours. Where no one but I knew my prayer, I received a direct physical, this world, touchable answers.
      Once I prayed with a friend who’s home was in jeopardy because she had lost a large amount of cash, she found it where GOD told me to tell her where to look. Funny thing is GOD sent me to help her in the first place, she didn’t ask for me, she prayed to GOD, he called me Spiritually and I went not knowing why except Norma was in trouble. We prayed, we asked, and GOD provided the answer. That is only one of a great many prayers I’ve had answered, the rule if thumb, don’t ask for thing that benefit myself alone, and give all glory to GOD. If ever you have trusted before, trust in what I have just shared with you, Jesus is the way the truth and the light, and no one comes to GOD except through him, HE IS ALIVE!

    No matter what his public relations people are saying this is not a mistake, it is on purpose. Do not ever trust someone who consistently omits part of a quote. When he does that he demonstrates that he does not believe that the statement as written is correct. I for one have no desire to have Mr Obama edit the Declaration of Independence to fit his own political view points.

      he was on radio in Islamic nations saying he was the first Islamic President…

      I doubt this will remain posted.

BHO doesnt believe in the Declaration and as Glenn has pointed out, should play the clip instead of saying it, BHO thinks the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties.

      Remember the Declaration targets BHO and our situation:

      What are we…..the television movie…“24”?! Do we have to have a black president?? We are still a majority white nation and I will never vote for a black. I did not vote for one in the first place (obama) but I after obama I will certainly never do it. West may be a good guy..but..I don’t trust him.       his agenda is NOT yours…NOT ours…his heart is elsewhere.

      He’s a Muslim.
      Obama said so when he told Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Gheit last year that he was a Muslim, like his step brothers, like his father, etc.
      Aviel Schneider of ISRAEL TODAY reports this same Obama statement…well known world-wide.
      I remember reports that a couple weeks into his first term,
      he was on radio in Islamic nations saying he was the first Islamic President…

      I doubt this will remain posted.
      Many are too scared to utter or repeat this information.

      Obama has proven he is the ultra left, liberal, progressive, socialist that most conservative Americans have said he has been all along. Oh, he sways to the right once in awhile when he knows it’s to his advantage, but he hasn’t changed his ideology a bit. His main goal as the POTUS is to transform it from what it has always been, a freedom loving, self sufficient capitalist nation, into what he sees as a socialist’s utopia with himself as permanent leader, or if you prefer, DICTATOR !.

      His constant exclusion of “Creator” from the US Declaration of Independence is further proof that he intends to rewrite American history centered on himself. He sees himself as the “Untoucable” Us President able to do what he wants regardless if it’s in concodance with the US Constitution or not. He has actually placed himself into the position now as the one who determines what is and what isn’t constitutional. Is there no US Government power and authority capable of putting and end to this one man rule of self interest instad of rukle by law ?

      A.)you do not state you position on the extremes, but in the criticism of SHOWTIME you appear to be dismissive to someone I know to be conservative. Conclusions, rather associations via your own verbiage present your opinion to be generally juxtaposed to conservative values since you take umbrage with said values when stated. Thus the tone of my statement, which I feel still stand as permissible and understandable the a).tone you took and b.) inconclusive and indeterminate point of debate you presented.
      Additionally, rather than confirming what I now see you do in fact have knowledge of IE, my rebuttal, you finally state that you don’t favor extremes, but fail yet again to establish a factual point of reference by which the merits of your debate might be adjudicated. Most actually attended Church, not as Al Gore did ONCE going in the back door and having numerous photos taken of him and his family so a new on e could be in the Media every Monday, but attending because they knew the value of Christian Fellowship; but they were also Private and made no effort to wear their Christianity on their sleeves. Nowadays, Christianity is but another LIE to get a vote. And many don’t bother with that, either.

      I got why you took SHOWTIME to task, don’t agree with you, but I get it. I thing the frustration you see, the extreme viewpoints are as result of Obama oppressive tactics of bypassing the rule of law to force his and the lefts agenda down the peoples throats, by use of statutes and regulations.
      We view the left as extreme as well as Obama, because that us the “norm” that is expressed to us by them. As for debate, like the debate America got over Obamacare? That ship has sailed, we don’t ask for debate, and what we do seek is complete revocation of every socialist law, and removal of the cancer to this republic, socialist’s.       @BetterDays. I wish you could respond directly to a particular poster. Like right underneath. Any-hoo. I just don’t see it that why. I know it’s not an opinion shared by many here, I just don‘t see the ’socialist‘ in anything he’s done. The healthcare overhaul would be the closest. But even that was a plan originally proposed by Dole and backed by republicans. There is a place for regulation in society. That’s why the water is drinkable, why the skies in CA are actually clearer. Why there aren’t more mad cow disease attacks or lead in our paint. And deregulation was chiefly to blame for the economic crisis. Does anyone truly think that more regulation of the financial markets would have made the crisis worse?!? The fact that commodities are traded is one of the main reasons oil is so expensive. The Saudi‘s are cutting production because there’s a surplus in the market, but the traders are keeping the prices high. Derivatives need regulation. I work in the financial services industry. I know of what I speak. There’s too much potential for people to do the wrong thing in the name of profit, no matter who gets hurt. And it’s too damn easy to get away with it.

      Obama has pursued many of Bush’s policies. And gone even farther than him on some. I do believe things would be worse if there wasn’t a bail out. Though I acknowledge you can’t prove a negative. I know until it happened, things looked a lot bleaker. And I think we can all agree the healthcare system needs an overhaul. We need to do SOMETHING. People don‘t know how bad it is until they’ve been personally affected by it. And I have. It’s a nightmare and something has to be done.

      Obama is not a socialist. He’s center left. No matter what Rush, Beck, Levin, or Sean say. It’s simply not true. Besides a great society can only prosper on a hybrid of both capitalism and a dusting of socialism. We need checks and balances. Someone has to be able to help the ones that need it. I think it’s totally acceptable to help and protect the needy and less fortunate. It’s just the right thing to do,

      Repeal patriot act
      Privatize SSI, SSDI, Medicare…bond agents to insure quality of management.
      On SSI, SSDI, Medicare, welfare, applicants must prove need on a visible system to prevent abuse and fraud, sever penilties like 20 years in jail for those caught abusing the system.
      Congressional term limits, and massive pay cuts equaling but not exceeding the pay rate of an E5 in military service.
      NO more czars.
      Revamping of statutes and regulations.

      Did you know that Obama, both Bush’s, Clinton and many more presidents all belong to the same globalist one world governance group?       Obama has many socialist friends, and progressives (Fabian socialism) as well, but he is just anti-colonial as well as being a globalist. I’ve no respect for Barak, none, he’s doing his level best to complete the globalist agenda, and for that I despise him. If the radicals and socialist‘s weren’t so blind as to what awaits them if he gets the completion of the globalists plan, the globalist are going to eat everything alive, including their tools. If you dont want to work, starve. If you cant afford to buy your hearts desires, get a better job, get some training, get a second job, or lower your desires… but dont take mine. That is not to say that charity is not warranted, valued, or a great thing. but theft is theft, weather it is done from my pocket, my home, or my paycheck. If you did what the government is doing to me I would shoot you in a heartbeat.
