The three days of Restoring Love concluded Saturday night with tens of thousands of people packed into Cowboys Stadium for the main blowout event. Just what kind of coverage did it receive from the rest of the media world? Here’s a sample:
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram covered the main event…
Glenn Beck wanted to focus on one message Saturday night: It’s time to restore love.
Speaking before tens of thousands of people who packed into Cowboys Stadium, the conservative radio and TV host said it’s time “to love each other.”
“Here we are … to restore our purpose as a nation, to remember who we are as Americans,” Beck said. “America is great because America is good.”
…and also spoke to a man who drove halfway across the country to attend:
Joe Colombaro, 43, was among those who traveled long distances to Saturday night’s event.
He, his father and son drove 22 hours from Delaware.
Colombaro, a consultant in the auto industry who carries a copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution with him, said this was an event he just couldn’t miss.
“We want to be part of something that is history-making in taking back our country,” he said.
He said Beck is delivering a message of unity. “This is a way of life. If you want to live free, you need to fight for it,” he said.
The Dallas Morning News focused more on the “Beckies”:
The vast majority, call them Beckies, had this in common: They despise President Barack Obama. They love Glenn Beck. They believe America is broken and he knows how to fix it.
“I believe he’s a Pied Piper,” said Ann Hettinger, who is 74 and lives in Rockwall. “And so many people here are ready to take action to re-establish traditional values in America using the Bible to guide public policy.”
Hettinger sat alone at a table and handed out literature from the Concerned Women for America, which opposes abortion and gay marriage. Visitors from across the nation swarmed around her and the other vendors crowded into booths on the stadium’s mezzanine level just below the Cowboys Ring of Honor.
A woman wearing a button, “I’ll take the Mormon over the Moron,” sat resting at a voter registration booth. Below a “Restoring Love” banner, a vendor sold T-shirts emblazoned with “Why the #&$%@ should I have to press 1 for English?” Across an aisle, another vendor sold paintings of prairie women cradling rifles and fathers teaching young sons to shoot.
Shoppers kept an eye out for conservative icons rumored to be in the house — U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Rick Santorum, gun activist and aging rock ’n’ roll guitarist Ted Nugent, who signed a moose skull to be given away as a raffle prize.
Dallas-Fort Worth CBS affiliate KRLD-TV said the “conservative — and often controversial” Beck put politics aside…
…while the Dallas-Fort Worth Fox affiliate KDFW-TV zeroed in instead on the presence of Westboro Baptist Church protesters:
Conservative commentator Glenn Beck is at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington this weekend promoting what he calls his “Restoring America Through Love Tour.” Saturday Beck also attracted a notorious protest group a small church in Kansas, Westboro Baptist, notorious for anti-gay rallies at the funerals of soldiers.
The Westboro protestors we met by a larger group of Beck fans in a counter protest. Arlington police watched as heated words were exchanged but nothing more.
Last but certainly not least, the Drudge Report linked to the CBS affiliate reporting that 65,000 were in attendance.

It was an amazing event with history I would have died to see in person. But, had to watch it on Roku. Still paying for the amazing trip to Israel last year for Restoring Courage. All nice stuff but the build up was for neverbefore seen and all I could find was the color test for the famous Washington painting. The painting is well viewed but the color test was not. Guess you had to be there to be awed by the collection.

You will have to carry “Papers” in order to go anywhere, buy food, go to a movie (Government approved), go to work, and every other freedom we take for granted. Americans had better wake up.
Of course the LAMESTREAM MEDIA wouldn’t report on the Restoring Love gathering with more than 100,000 participants, all paying their own way and many providing services and bringing enough food to fill 12 tractor trailers to be given to homeless shelters and food distribution centers in 12 cities. What we saw was average citizens aiding their fellow man out of love for others. That doesn‘t fit the LAMESTREAM’S mantra that government is to be looked to for everything. They can’t understand that this is how America got to be the great country it is. These “Correspondents” want America to become another failed socialist country such as Greece, Italy, Spain, and France.
Of course if they (LSM) don’t understand the idea of Restoring Love, then they ignore ir or belittle it. They put down attendees and give them rediculous titles (eg. Beckies). They also ignore the economic impact on the local economy of 100,000 people renting rooms (Some for a full week), eating in restaurants, buying gasoline and souviniers of the Dallas area. But again, if it doesn’t fit your mold, ignore it.

Actually, in Billy Graham’s “hay day” not only did the MSM report on his crusades, but reporters attended them, reported acurately on what he said, and, I’m sure, some of them even learned something while they were there and maybe one or two or more made a decision for the Lord!
In the 60′s, 70‘s and 80’s, media was there to report, not to control, manipulate, coverup, ridicule, etc. You may be an “old photo” (or “image” of a real person!), but I am the real thing, I was at a number of Billy Graham crusades as a worker or in the choir, and was at other happenings including visits of Pope John Paul II to America, and again, through the late 80‘s early 90’s reporting of religious events was more reporting than “story telling!
And yes, for those who care, I reconciled into the Catholic Church in my mid-20′s, 38 years ago!

The effect is clearly designed to make it appear few were there. Very obvious. These people really are so low in IQ that they think we are too ignorant to see the bias and phoney reporting. Primarily due to the fact that people of very low intelligence are unable to conceive of minds greater than theirs. In short they are so ignorant they can only think all others are as dull as they. Shorter still: they don’t think therefore they are not.

I thought he was smarter than that – call it quits while you’re at the top. Blogs and Internet ‘TV’ are taking over and will continue. The reason Beck left FOX is because he started leaning more toward faith in his program and FOX didn’t like it. They wanted him to continue hammering the progressives; that’s what the agenda of FOX really is. Beck has been very open about his plan for the future and I believe he is on to something. GThat something requires US to stay involved , don’t be afraid of what people will say or think about you. If we are on God‘s side we can’t lose…ever! Keep saying the truth over and over, support the little companies of this country, do with a little less if it costs a little more to keep the little business in the black, be there for your families and your neighbors, stop listening to the trash and keep reaching out. America is probably the one country where loving one another can actually right the ship and make ths country great again. It is in our Constitution and every single state constitution, too. I’ve been trying to understand nearly all my life (a bunch of years) where the monkeys came from, then where the fish came from, then where the swamp gas came from, then where the sponge came from, now where the explosion (inter galactic I think) came from. Hubble was supposed to be able to look back and see exactly when they first sent it up. (That‘s probably why it didn’t work all those years.) Now that it’s repaired, it’s given us some awesome pictures which only strengthen the faith of those who believe in intelligent design! Magic, naw! that’s for the hucksters who parse global warming !

Science is our means to try and understand something that may not be understandable unless one believes in God. For example, even if we could PROVE a big bang started the universe, what started the big bang?
If we could PROVE that we human beings evolved solely and completely from apes, then explain why there are still apes in existance that haven’t evolved?
Science is FULL of theories, and they are just that because they cannot be proven. For example, can science PROVE there is no God? Of course not, any more than it can PROVE there is a God.
Just because a bible may say God created the heavens and earth in 6 days and on the 7th He rested, does that mean it was 24 hour days? Perhaps the creation of earth and its inhabitants took billions of our “years”, and what we see as evolution was God’s creation and guidance?

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 5:39pmI have fortunately or unfortunately had lots of time to analyze what was going on at Fox news prior to Glen’s departure, I’ve deduced that Fox leadership was looking to change the format away from hard news, if you watch closely there has been a change in their news line up giving it a more entertainment tonight feel. In addition the network was being called to tone Glens rhetoric down, meaning that there were some people of influence trying to take the wind out of Glen’s sails and forcing him into the new programming. O ‘riely, Hannity, Gretta all recycle the same days news stories, and it only became that much more clear after Glen left the network. In the end they decided to let him part amicably, and even did a small amount of promotion for him, having him on their shows, that is until some point in this last year, now for the most part they don’t mention Glen, however I have heard Glen thank Hannity in the last few weeks for something or other. The whole situation where Glen left was highly political, and out of frustration was born GBTV and the Blaze, which replaced GB university , and other GB pages I believe were hosted by fox, but have yet to verify. Someday I would expect that Glen or some other will write a tell all biography on the topic but right now it would probably do more damage than good, as GBTV-Blaze TV, Mercury Radio Arts, Mercury Films is just beginning to show signs of being financially stable.

Even if you are a young earth Creationists and think the Earth is less than 10,000 years old. Christianity has only been around 20% of the time. I’m also assuming you are claiming to be some kind of prophet because stats are showing that the rejection of a God is only growing.

One might argue that in 10,000 years, your God will be viewed similarly to the Gods like Zeus, Odin and Osiris….as never having existed in the first place. As a religious person, do you believe that those Gods existed, and that people were just following false Gods? Or do you(like most believers) make the claim that those Gods never existed?

What false assumptions did I make in my post here? Also, you say that the great minds in science believed in a God. Most, likely believed in a deistic form of God, that they imagined a prime mover but not a personal God. Also those minds were likely foolish to step into a realm that they can’t demonstrate scientifically.
It’s why a biologist might try to explain a little about astrophysics, but they will be quick to point out that their knowledge is EXTREMELY limited and there are people who are way more qualified to discuss that topic.
Biologists stick primarily to biology
Chemists stick primarily to chemistry
etc, etc, etc
Religion doesn’t do that. It says it has the answer to everything, and it says their answers are divine and shouldn’t be questioned.

Those against Him will not perceive this as love. His children will. The earth is billions of years old and God has existed all of that time and beyond. Do not blame God for the ignorance and false teaching of men. Those are your words. There is nothing that says you get sent to hell by refusing God. IF you live by the tennements of the golden rule (basically be a good person), you will not be sent to hell. IF one doesn’t believe in God nor Heaven nor Hell, then being a good person is STILL a preferred way to live, as your life becomes more rich (not necessarily financially) by being a good person rather than a bad person. By being a good person, more people will respond to you more beneficially than by being a rotten person.
By being a good person, when you die, more people will remember you fondly and miss you, rather than being relieved and saying “Good, I’m glad he/she is gone.”
Believe in God or not, but be a good person and try to do good things.
As for all the people out there that respond to trolls (like I just did this one rare instance), why even bother? Don’t we all know that responding to them is how they get their kicks? They are not interested in having a calm logical discussion. All they want is to sew discourd and hate. Let them be, stop responding to them.
