‘Here’s the Proof!’: Rep. Gowdy Raises Voice, Invokes Stephen Colbert in 6-Minute Diatribe Blasting Holder, Obama

South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy Blasts Eric Holder and Obama Administration Over Fast and Furious

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) Source: C-SPAN

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) blasted U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and his department in an impassioned speech during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee where lawmakers were discussing whether or not to charge the attorney general with contempt.

Gowdy — who raised his voice several times — argued the documents that have been made available indicate that senior level officials at the Department of Justice in Washington were aware about Fast and Furious before the death of Border Agent Brian Terry.

“Senior level DOJ officials were briefed, they discussed press conference opportunities, they discussed the unsealing of indictments , they traded emails about the status of the case, they approved wire tap applications and most significantly, Mr. Chairman, they actively discussed the tactic of gun-walking well in advance of special agent brian terry’s murder… and here’s the proof,” Gowdy said.

But he wasn’t done, far from it.

He continued, with passion: “So we have a fundamentally flawed federal investigation, we have a dead Border Patrol agent, we have hundreds of dead Mexican citizens, thousands of weapons with America’s fingerprints on both sides of the border unaccounted for and a demonstrably false letter being written to a committee of Congress and yet we are being asked for more time.”

“It has been over a year Mr. Chairman. If Congress has time to look into Major League Baseball, the BCS and invite Stephen Colbert to come to a committee hearing, surely to goodness we have time to get answers on a fundamentally flawed, lethal investigation like Fast and Furious,” Gowdy added.

The Congressman said he has no answers to give his constituents in South Carolina when he is asked for more information on Fast and Furious.

“Not only does Congress have a right to ask these questions, we have a fundamental duty to ask these questions,” Gowdy said. “Either we have the right to the documents and we should get all of them or we have no business here.”

“And with respect to executive privilege, Mr. Chairman, I am going to resist the temptation to contrast Senator Obama‘s position on executive privilege with President Obama’s position on executive privilege,” Gowdy started.

“If (Obama) was not part of the drafting of the February 4 letter, if he did not know about Fast and Furious before Brian Terry was murdered, if he did not approve of the wiretap applications then what in the world is he asserting executive privilege for?” he asked

Before concluding his memorable rant, Gowdy said about the president: “He is either part of it or he’s not. If he’s part of it, then we’ve had a series of witnesses that have misled this committee. If he’s not part of it, then he’s got no business asserting executive privilege.”

Nah, I think it is awesome to have a progressive on fox constantly, along with beckle as well.

How many times have you seen on forums or other online sources where “fox haters” constantly talk about how conservative fox is and it is trash and doesn‘t give the left’s point of view. Ever seen the statement “you need to watch other sources rather than just fox to get the whole side of things”

Now how many times does CNN or MSNBC do this? Could you make the case for watching MSNBC to get the whole point of view? Oh wait, they can’t do that, and they even make up the parts when they don’t like it.

Having libs on fox as reg‘s doesn’t bother me at all, it helps show how goofy the left is and I don’t have to tune into another station to see it.

See how the Republican talks about the facts and the Democrat immediately talks about political perception. Good for him for laying it out for all to see. Obummer can’t have it both ways. He was either involved and has a right to exert executive privilege (in which case he should have done so well over a year ago), or he was not and is abusing his position to protect himself, his cronies or both. Romney and company should call BS on this one in the most vocal way and demand to know which scenario it is. Either way our illustrious leader will lose. Sad for our country but the committee can begin to right the wrong by holding Holder in contempt.

Well said, Mr. Gowdy. Your exactly correct. Lets now lose sight on what fast and furious was about. It was about gun control. Obama and Holder gave US guns to violent criminals so they could use the crimes committed with those US guns to justify harsh gun control. If Agent Terry had not been killed, we would be hearing about all the violent crimes being committed in Mexico with US guns. This will be proven to be Obama’s idea and that is why he asserted executive privilege. Obama and Holder have been for strict gun control for years and they saw this as their opportunity. Just you wait and see how this plays out.

So the end justified the means? Giving guns to criminals who will kill with them is okay to prove your point so you can ban guns from non-criminals who want to hunt wildlife. Hmmm. So if we stop killing off that excess wildlife, they become diseased. Because criminals will always have ample unregistered guns. Only conclusion you can come to is that if a president/dictator wants absolute power he has to be sure the innocent are unarmed. Well it backfired. Guess we are all forewarned and alarmed at how defenseless we will be in America if guns are banned. Obviously this is paramount to bringing down America which currently is too well armed to be taken easily from within or without. Switzerland demands every male citizen is armed. Works for them. Look it up.

Don’t forget that on March 30, 2011 Obama said to Sarah Brady who was at the White House for a meeting on Gun Control: “I just want you to know that we are working on it” … “We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.” That was before F&F broke wide open. Now the only conclusion can be that F&F was THE ‘under the radar’ gun control plan. As during that same time Holder, Obama, Hillary, the Mex President, etc, etc were all spouting off about ‘Lax American gun laws killing innocent Mexican citizens and needed to be changed’. So when you cut to the chase F&F was really a conspiracy by these Marxists to undermine the US Constitution. (Impeachment isn’t enough punishment)
