Here‘s Tiger Woods’ Incredible Chip Shot That Jack Nicklaus Called the Best He’d Ever Seen

In case you haven’t heard, Tiger Woods won the Memorial golf tournament this week. But he didn’t just win — he did it in signature Tiger fashion that even included a fist pump.

Down by one stroke on the par-3 16th, Woods landed in the rough just outside the green. He pulled out a 60-degree wedge, wound up, and then magic happened:

Here’s how ESPN sets it up:

Woods went on to sink another birdie at 18 to secure the win. But it was the shot at 16 that had everyone talking.

“I’ve seen a lot of shots in golf,” Jack Nicklaus — the tournament founder and host who handed Woods the crystal trophy on the 18th green — said during the presentation ceremony. “I don‘t think I’ve ever seen a better one.”

With the win, Woods ties Nicklaus with 73 PGA tour wins, putting him second behind Sam Snead’s record 82.

After the tournament, Woods joked about whether the shot and win means he’s back to form.

“I won,” he joked with a wide smile. “I‘m sure by Tuesday I’ll be retired and done, and then by the time I tee it up at the U.S. Open (at Olympic Club in San Francisco in 11 days) it might be something different. But I’ll let you guys figure that out.”

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

With 100% being [all possible], your‘re looking at a statistic on Tiger having explored this worldly feeling of ’invinceablity‘ being a ’womanizer’ at around 99% ["ain't gonna happen"] my friend! You would have better odds at going to Saudi Arabia and evicting the Govt. there and you setting up shop running the show! Tiger has found out what the other balls he is in close contact with want to do and you can bet he works hard on the right club at the time he wants to practice shooting in a golf course that he can get or buy easier and faster than you can bat an eye! His wife wasn’t no dummy, why else would you “BullDoze” down a perfectly good 350 Million Dollar Home if she seen in Tiger the hope he would only golf on her golf course? It is what it is man, Only Jesus saves those who want to be saved, all others will just remain just as they are… lost!

That was a nice stroke. But it reminds me of how, like Beck, the liberal idiots forced advertisers to abandon him. Liberals have always been racist and a couple of people got on the phone and made Tiger’s advertisers all go away after the revelations, just like they did with Limbaugh. I hope this shot brings the money people back, just as I hope Glenn gets back on TV one day although I realize he burned all his bridges on FOX.

I’m sick of the media peeing in their pants every time Eldrick Woods makes a move. If he were white, you wouldn’t hear all the hoopla. It’s like Rush said about McNabb; the media is very desirous that black golfers do well. They absolutely hate the fact that the PGA is mostly white. They dream about the day when the hoodlums overrun it like they have other pro sports.

The PGA is mostly white because it’s hard to golf wearing a hoodie and “pants on the ground”.

Whooptie Doo, he makes another micraculous shot. Marjorie Faye is correct. Our country is “anything goes,” and going down the pits morally. These hot shots can do anything they want, especially if you are a protected class, and it’s OK!

Personally, I don’t watch pro-sports. They are making $Millions and are always crying for more. Just happened to be channel surfing.

Tiger has punished himself enough (unconsciously) by his awful playing (or maybe it was caused by that conk on the head by his now ex-wife that made his game off).

Either way – I hope Tiger makes a come back and goes straight to the top again. He’s been divorced for years and essentially lost his kids when she took them overseas. She‘s been dating up a storm and it didn’t take her long so their marriage mustn’t have been that strong to begin with.

    Go Tiger!!!

I saw tiger walking to a next hole and the fans had their hands out to have Tiger respond. He ignored them completely. Unlike Ricky, and Phil this guy still has no class. Maybe you have to be a jack ass to be great-but Arnie and Jack never were.

Your statement is a good one but—Mr. Jack had an arrogant attitude back in the 70s too and was NOT well liked among his peers. At some point, he realized that the fans made it possible to do what he does….

Mr. Woods, believes the world revolves around him alone!

I was fortunate to see a lot of the greats of the PGA in the sixties and seventies as an autograph junkie kid. Some (and I won’t name names) pros were really good to the fans others were not. All I will say is that many of the ones I looked up to disappointed me greatly when I encountered them in person. I will say one thing Arnold Palmer was the classiest one out there, a giant among the rest – he will always have my admiration. In all fairness, come on guys, these pros are working while on the course. You can’t expect them to give every fan a high five every time they walk from green to tee. Imagine if you had to go to work day in and day out and have to acknowledge every Joe Blow that you run across? Another thing I notice is that today the game has lost a lot of the etiquette it once honored. There are a lot of horse’s arses out on the course today.

I’ve been to several tournaments where Tiger played. He DELIBERATELY avoids eye contact and physical contact with the audience so he can “stay on game”. It has NOTHING to do with a character flaw that he doesn’t want to shake hundreds of hands; I wouldn’t either!

He’ll always be a “media-darling” because he is their cash cow. It’s always “Tiger” this, and “Tiger,” that. He could be 12 shots off the lead and the commentators still sing the same song.

It‘s too bad they didn’t catch him when he was allegedly on steroids during the peak of his career. They wouldn‘t do that just like they won’t touch Mr.Obama. Says a lot about what we listen to every day doesn’t it?

It is always good to see anyone make a come-back. We only hope and pray that he is getting his life back together at the same time. Never want to see anyone one fail no matter what we may think or feel They do have a profound effect on many lives and when they win it gives others hope that their lives will be better.

“I’ve seen a lot of shots in golf,” Jack Nicklaus — the tournament founder and host who handed Woods the crystal trophy on the 18th green — said during the presentation ceremony. “I don‘t think I’ve ever seen a better one.” Well Jack didn’t see it at the time, but Tom Watson’s chip in at the US Open to beat Jack. I can’t tell you how much I was rooting against Tiger. Every since I saw him in person in Cancun after his first Masters win, walk away from an 8 year old kid who wanted his autograph. His “body guard/pimp” stepped in front of the kid and said Tiger doesn’t want to be disturbed. Tiger turned around, looked at the kid, then walked away. Like many of today’s athletes he already had decided he was bigger than the game. Arnold still gives out autographs often and for free. A result of too much corporate money and influence. When athletes make more money in endorsements than they do in the sport and pay their PR and business managers more than their swing coach…. you know something is upside down.

History will remember Tiger Woods for two things–his greatness and success in the game but also his failure as a husband and father.

He disgraced his parents (although he didn’t fall far from the father tree), embarrassed his wife and dishonored his children (imagine what his beautiful children will read about their father in the years to come!)

But he might just be the greatest of the greats!
