Herman Cain: ‘African Americans Have Been Brainwashed Into Not Being Open Minded’

Herman Cain Says African Americans Have Been Brainwashed

Herman Cain, the only African American currently in a contentious race for the Republican nomination, has a message for African Americans: You have been brainwashed into siding with liberal politicians. On Wednesday, in an appearance on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” he said:

“African Americans have been brainwashed into not being open minded, not even considering a conservative point of view.

I have received some of that same vitriol simply because I am running for the Republican nomination as a conservative. So it’s just brainwashing and people not being open minded, pure and simple.”

Upon hearing this, Wolf Blitzer pushed back a bit, saying, “That’s a strong word to use to talk about your fellow African Americans — brainwashed?”

“For two-thirds of them, Wolf, that is the case,” Cain responded.

Cain also delved into his own ability to gain support from the black community, saying that he believes, based on his policies and the feedback he’s received so far, that he will be able to capture one-third of the African American vote:

“I believe a third [of African-Americans] would vote for me, based on my own anecdotal feedback. Not vote for me because I’m black but because of my policies,” he said.

Blacks have definitely been brainwashed into only considering blacks opinions. Finally a man of knowledge and character blacks will listen to and vote for is running for president. Of course the news media will do everything in its power to destroy this man. Soros will throw 100 billion into the effort to destroy this man just in the first volley. Pray for this man Herman Cain. He needs Gods help and protection.

      Is Cain another Obama?

He is using his blackness to attack Obama while the white candidates can only attack themselves. If a white candidate dares to attack Obama the Race Card will be through at them. Cain is a racist and knows he can get away with his attacks on President Zero because Cain is black. Only Bauchmann is attacking President Zero and look what the Ruling Class GOPers are doing to her.

Herman Cain was right that they have been taught by their parents/teachers/leaders who have been pandered to, bought off, and brainwashed by Democrats.

Now would Cain also say that Tea Partiers have been brainwashed by Rick Perry, the media, and conservative talkers to think that he is conservative: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2011/sep/cain_vote_perry.html . I think Herman Cain would agree that Rick Perry has too many liberal thoughts and stances, just starting with immigration.

We need to vet our candidates.

Mad Hatter, how could they be “brainwashed” when they are taking note of his deviationms from conservative principles and his support is dropping. It seems to me their eyes are open to the evidence. To be momentarily taken in by a slick campaign or our own hope and optimism is not to be brainwahsed. To be consistently willing to overlook the evidence and see what isn’t there is more what we are talking about.

The black subculture is brainwashed. We who have familiy and friends in the black community know this because a huge chunk are very conservative in their view points but ALWAYS vote democrat or liberal. What other explanation would there be for something that makes so little sense. I was close friends with a sweet Christian lady who I worked with about 16 yrs ago. She was a strong Christian, always went to church, was staunchly prolife, and had a strong sence of right and wrong. I admired her and looked up to her, she was in her late 30‘s or early 40’s. She voted for Bill Clinton. I tried to reason with her. I was so shocked. Nievely, it never occurred to me that she would vote for him. He stood for everything she claimed to see as wrong. I lost all respect for her. We stayed friends but I no longer had the respect for her I had for her before. I thought of her as a confused hypocryt. It tore my heart up. All she cared about was affirmative action. I tried to explain the idea of merit being important, but she just couldn’t see it. I used her daughter’s college admission as an illustration. I said what if your daughter had excellent grades but they are already had enough blacks so they took a native American or Asian with lower grades instead? Never reached her.

Interesting situation developing, If a white person runs against O, they will be called a racist. If a black person runs against him you have an uncle Tom. What we have now is a little bit white, a little bit black and a whole lot Muslim. Now the media has a lot of angles to play and they will use them all. Yes, interesting times are ahead and this government thinks it’s job is to take care of folks, ie give them a fish.

@ TEAMARCHENSON – Wow you are completly wrong about cain. You think cain is a racist, how??? Support your claim. Cain is not another Obama, he is mearly pointing out the fact of why black Americans trend away from the GOP. Wolf prompted the question, Cain answered it directly like he always does. The real deal, no spin. Again TEAMARCHENSON, support your filthy claims. Im waiting.

@ Mad_Hatter – I disagree with tea partiers being brainwashed because we saw the real Rick Perry come out in the debates and they have seen that hes not conservative on a few major issues.
      1) Immigration – dealing with illegals in his state and giving them state substidies.
      2) Foreign Aid – Continuing Foreign aid to countries to build up there schools and infastructure.
I was a fan of perry untill they held his feet to the fire and his own words turned me off. so to answer your question Mad_Hatter, I am no drone and we have to test these canidates.

@Erabin – You’re on the computer at an internet site hiding behind the comfort of your own home. Of course you will get people who will make off the wall comments. If you want real debate then choose who you debate with Erabin. Its kinda like the mob mentality that you liberal use when you protest the g-20 summits. Teamarcheson: What the heck? Are you sick or something? No, I have met Mr. Cain personally and he doesn’t have a racist bone in his body, whereas I seriously doubt that YOU don’t! Cain knows what he’s talking about. He was brought up in a poor family and had to pull himself up by the bootstraps. Obama didn’t do that. He relied on nepotism and Affirmative Action (another form of racism) his whole life; whether it was to get into schools, make up a college history or to seal his records, so that no one could know how badly he actually did…or the things that he said that he did (Editor of the Harvard Law Review? Really?), but there has never been any evidence of him doing. So why, if Obama has so much to be “proud” of, does he seal those records, huh? You don’t see any other candidate, much less any other president, who has sealed their records as much as Obama has…and you won’t see Cain doing so, either.

@integerity my point is that black peolpe are not monolithic in their thought. I have many american friends who happen to be black like me and we all have different opinoins on politics. one thing we all agree on is that we want a good life for us and our famlies and we don’t want that off the labor of others. but the thought by many is blacks only want to take from a white man and that we want to rob whitey and we are blind sheep led by jeese ,shelia, and whoever else. conseratives don‘t get more black support because they don’t want it. really blacks over 30 or maybe 40 are probaly one the most conservatives groups in this nation. when you countinuely insult an entire(i.e. to much goverment cheese) group it is diffcult to get there support. however , i am not so foolish to blame black america problems on anyone but black america . it upset me that blacks like shelia and others peddle the same old race card line when the could say look work hard take advantage of the chances you will only get in this country. all that being said my only point is don’t lump all blacks into one pot we are americans.

Instead of taking advantage of a perfect opportunity and healing race relations in America, Obumer has done the opposite. It is almost like he caused more racial tension. The Leftist Elite want to keep groups of people dependent on them. If someone in the group goes astray and learns that they no-longer need the handout then they become a threat. The ones that go astray are the biggest threat to the Leftist Elite, because they are living proof that there is a better way. The Leftist group strikes out at them with everything they have. Jackie Robinson was a conservative and one of the first to speak out against taking federal handouts. There are many others out there, but they remain silent. Herman Cain is a great role model for young people to follow, and he has a very strong message. Everyone loves a story (no matter of their skin color) of someone who works their way up without handouts.

I’ve been a fan of Cain for years after being introduced to him through his fill in for talk radio personalities. His views have been rock solid and he has never come off as a racist. This man is trying to give voice to the thoughts and opinions I have heard so called conservatives pout about for 10 years saying “no one ever says what we feel”. Now we have a man doing it and its more waa waa waa out of a good majority of you people. You complain about the liberal mob mentality, then you parrot it every day on this site. Just like Michelle and her flag comments. None of you even noticed it until it was pointed out to you and waited for some “expert analysis” from a deaf intern and then it was baaa baaa baaa like the sheep that you are. I drove from a small town in florida to attend the Restoring Honor rally and I have noticed that unfortunately the larger Beck’s audience grows the larger the pasture gets for the sheep-ple. Perry looks like a ‘70’s car salesman who cant ever answer a direct question, just look at the interior though and drive it. Romney has his own issues and Bachman, though I love her, comes off as everybody‘s nagging wife and she doesn’t have a chance. So Cain is what we have and I for one am proud to back him and volunteer to get him where we all need him. So before we laugh at others for drinking the kool-aid and being brainwashed, look at the crap your drinking from Hannity’s lemonade stand everyday. get off the me too bandwagon and have your ow

What an opportunity to demonstrate how Cain as a leader would address the American people. I am very disappointed.

I can not vote for someone who looks out across the American people and sees Whites, Blacks, Browns, etc. That is a divisive way of looking at us. That is exactly how Zero looks at us.

What is the excuse for all the other races who voted for Zero? Are the Jews brainwashed since they overwhelmingly voted for the Marxist Zero? What is the difference?

This was an opportunity for Cain to say I am my brothers keeper and Americans have been brainwashed and fooled into a way of thinking opposite of our country. That Americans have been divided by color and every other means possible and as long as we remain divided we will be preyed upon and will fall as a Nation.

The more Cain addresses us by race the more who does seem racist or one who sees race first. If you support Cain, advise him to drop the race factor and address us all equally as Americans.

United we stand and divided we fall.

Welfare, food stamps, free this, free that…they have become trapped in a system that fosters more of the same. Eventually we will all be taken down if we don’t recognize it and change it.

If he doesn’t get the nomination, I would be surprised. I think people need to look past his color, enough to see the man’s character! Having met and spoken with him at length, his demeanor reminds me much of Ronald Reagan’s, with his sharp wit and humor. And what a memory! The first time my husband and I met him, was when he came up from Atlanta, to speak at a Fair Tax conference here in southwestern PA (as we were part of the group that sponsored the event), at which I sang the American Anthem, with a friend, Connie, playing the piano. He would not even take payment to speak at that event! So our Fair Tax group paid for his accommodations and local conservative radio show hosts, Quinn and Rose emceed the event. Herman Cain even substituted for them while they were both on vacation for a week. Well (pushing forward from 2004 to 2011), my husband and I attended a tea party where he was speaking, only a couple of days before he announced his candidacy for POTUS. It was a hot, sunny day, so I had my sunglasses on, as we stood in line to speak with him at the booth that they had set up for Mr. Cain after the tea party. As we finally got to the front of the line, I began carrying on a conversation with his assistant, while Herman Cain was speaking with another tea party attendee. He must have overheard our conversation, when he exclaimed, “I remember you…even behind those sunglasses! How are you doing?” Ha! After 7 years….

      @Hickory:

I agree. Aside from the fact that the man’s a mathmatician and rocket scientist, what I like most about Cain is his honesty.

I understand the thinking and strategy behind all of the political wizards that say a candidate must play to the middle to win, but I want a candidate who is in the race to help this country and its people, not just to be President.

If your goal is to help the country, you won‘t be afraid to let its citizens know who you are and what you truly stand for and let them decide if you’re right for the job. If a majority like what you stand for, you win. If not, you’ll go back to your life with no regrets because you tried.

But if you’re willing to lie to the people about what you believe in to win, it’s obvious your goal is to become President and to have the power that goes along with it. We all know how that turns out… Obama… FDR… Wilson… the list goes on.

That’s what I liked about GWBush. What you saw is what you got. I may not have liked all of his social policies, but you knew where he stood. I can deal with that. And I voted for him…twice.

Cain tells it like he sees it. I respect that.

A President has a cabinet to handle specific areas of national concern. Obama does not use his cabinet — he goes to his “czars” that have not gone through the Constitutional confirmation process. Hermann Cain is a true leader — he sees the job that needs to be done and he assembles the best team to do the job. Unlike Obumbler, he will not keep doing what does not work — he is open minded and not arrogant.

I was on the Cain / West or West / Cain wagon early on. I can see a Rubio but please, no Palin.

Don’t take me wrong: I love her and her message. That said, you have hundreds of thousands of Useful Idiots parroting SNL’s “I can see Russia from my house” line as if Palin actually said it.

Yes! It’s undeserved! I get it. She’s a liability all the same.

That said, I love Cain. Unless Reagan himself comes back from the dead to run, I will likely vote for him both in the primary and hopefully again in Novmber… *but* he’s got a big problem in his comments on muslims. That’s a pretty big Achilles Heel for him.

Agree he‘s got a shortcoming in foreign policy experience but look at what’s there now. I mean, could it get worse?

I agree. Politicians are so vague in their statements because they don’t want to “offend anyone.” It ends up that we have a candidate and don’t have a clue what they really stand for. I’ll add Ron Paul to that list with Cain who “tells it like it is” — even when it hurts. The truth is the truth. Politicians who won’t state the HARD facts are automatically OFF my list of potential candidates.

@TEAMARCHESON I do not post on here much but really had to give my two cents. I have been following Cain since last election, he was VERY against Obama and was one of the people who helped form the Tea Party and is a member of many Black Conservative groups. A Rhino he is definetly not and for those who say that people will vote for him due to skin color?? Some of us are color blind, we will vote for Cain because he is the closest thing to Ronald Reagan this country has had in a very very long time. I for one truly believe that we need a God fearing President for the USA to survive and Cain is God fearing. Also Cain speaks what he believes, NOT what people want to hear, the Democrats are terrified of him and the GOP would like him to go away. He will not play bi-partisan politics, he is here for US the average american.

Honestly I can not say enough good about him, both my husband and I have been preparing for the fall of our wonderful nation, and with Cain we have a re-newed hope for America. It has been a relief to us and we have pledged to help in whatever way we can be it phone calls, county fairs, or whatever other need his campaign has.

Yes, but Cain has a ton of management experience. He’s turned around failing businesses from a failing Burger King division to a near-bankrupt Godfather’s Pizza. When you run a division or a company, you don’t necessarily know everything about every aspect of that business… but you do assemble good people around you that are experts in that area to help you make the decisions. Herman Cain is sure to do that. I’m sure that he would use his advisers to give him the necessary information, and he’s smart enough to use the information that he is given to make a good decision.
