Herman Cain Cracks Anita Hill Joke: Is She ‘Going to Endorse Me?’

It’s no secret that Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has had an intense couple of weeks. Following allegations that he sexually harassed numerous women, the successful businessman showed on Thursday that, despite the political drama, he still has a sense of humor.

At a meet-and-greet event in Michigan, a man in the audience brought up a well-known name in American politic scandals — Anita Hill (the woman who famously accused Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment 20 years ago).

In a video clip, the man can be heard asking Cain a question, although it is somewhat muffled. He says, “You hear the latest news today? Anita Hill is going to come…”

The rest of his words are unintelligible, but what‘s most notable is Cain’s response. After doubling over in laughter, the presidential contendor quips, “Is she going to endorse me?” (the “she” being Hill). Laughter ensued, as the audience clearly found the off-the-cuff statement entertaining to say the least.

Watch the exchange, below:

On the contrary. The press is a joke, and America knows it. The accusers are jokes, and America knows it. Obama’s policies are a joke, and America knows it. All Herman Cain has to do is have some fun, and he’s the next prez. I keep hearing people say that there is no Reagan in the race, But Reagan was simply a Conservative, who deeply loved America and believed in her greatness, and was full of optimism. Which part of that doesn’t describe Herman Cain?

Cain does not walk the talk. He and his followers will learn the hard way that this topic is really, actually a serious matter. In his speeches he makes a point of saying how important this is, then in his deeds he demeans and mocks the importance. I would support him better if he walked the walk he talks.

I love Herman Cain, 9-9-9 however needs some work and will be ripped apart by the media and the Obamanites. At this point I am leaning towards…

      Gingrich – West 2012
      Gingrich – Cain

I would prefer West as the Veep as he is younger than Cain and this country could sure use 16 consecutive years of Conservatism.

Stopthelies… finally a Cain supporter who has done their homework!

Have you looked into 9-9-9-9 and calculated the difference in your tax bill under his plan? (don’t forget the hidden 9% that your company will have to pay on your salary because Cain’s plan eliminates the deductibility of wages for businesses)

Also, have you figured out how he is going to balance the budget in one year without touching SS, Medicare or Military?

I honestly have not found any Cain supporters who are willing address these questions, so I’m wondering what your thoughts are…

Lifelinz… thanks for the link, but the sales tax is only a small portion of the taxes you‘ll be paying under Cain’s plan. I’m all for a fair tax, but Cain’s plan is far from a fair tax plan. Take the 9% your company will pay on your wages, then add the 9% you pay on your income, then add the sales tax. Your calculator link somewhat exaggerates the savings (in my opinion). When it is all said and done, you will actually pay more under Cain’s plan.

CAIN, PERRY, AND ROMNEY ARE UNDER THE BIGGEST ATTACK BY THE LIBERAL MEDIA

Cain of course is under attack for the allegations of sexual harassment, since there is no evidence and these seem to be baseless claims.
Perry is under attack, by things he did to himself but are blown out of proportion. He isn’t the best debater and maybe not the best for president but the attacks he is under are overboard, President Obama has done way worse.
Romney is under attack by a campaign started back with Ted Kennedy that Romney flip-flops. Kennedy used that same tactic on all of his competitors but Romney is the only one to make it big afterwards. Come to find out these claims are unprecedented as well: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/projects/nov/auto/auto_bailout_forum.html

Founding Father… I‘ve seen you post this website quite a few times so I’ve finally checked it out.

Did you create this website? I have a few suggestions…

First of all, the word “Consistant” in the subtitle should be corrected to “Consistent”…
Secondly, the sentence highlighted in red stating, “VERDICT-VIDEO TO BE RELEASED FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2001″… this obviously isn’t 10 years old right? I’m guessing you meant “November 18, 2011″?
Lastly, all that this “Panel” did was post a bunch of article links in the “Source of Clarity or Debate” column and then state “Anti-Auto Bailout“ in the corresponding ”Panel‘s Stance on Romney’s Stances” column. This is supposed to be the great end all be all of the flip flop debate?? I don’t have time to read all the articles, but the few that I did read led me to the conclusion that he has definitely flipped and flopped on the issue.

For example, saying things like, “I’m not open to a bailout, but I am open to a workout… Washington should not be a benefactor, but it can and must be a partner” is pretty pro bailout to me. He just changed the word to “workout”. This was referring to his $20 billion promise of taxpayer money to be directed toward the auto industry. Even the Salt Lake Tribune said that this stance was “wholly inconsistent with his claims to be the real conservative in the race.”

I would find a legitimate website to post next time.

“Why so serious?” The future of the free world is just a little bit serious, don’t you think? Herman Cain needs to stop steppin in it and get serious. Princess Nancy, is she going to endorse me? 9-9-9,
9-9-9 is a bumper sticker, not a viable tax plan.
Let me show you an example. Herman wants to establish “sales tax free enterprise zones” in disadvantaged areas all across the county. This is a terrible idea. We do not need the government choosing winners and losers again. What happens to the businesses just outside of his enterprise zone. They are destroyed because people can go just across the street and get a 9% discount by avoiding the tax. This is not a conservative idea. He had to add it to his plan because his plan is so bad for the average working family. A huge tax increase on the poor.
“Why so serious?” If we don’t get serious real quick we are going to give Pres. Obama 4 more years to destroy our country.

PGMike… I completely agree… And Cain says this will get rid of the IRS, but he says that the 9% sales tax is only for new goods. Well how does he expect that to be regulated? This, along with the tax free zones that you mentioned will invite a whole new regulatory body to evolve. It is a disaster of a plan, and does not fix the problem. Plus my taxes will go from about 15% to about 20%!

@pgmike below….respectfully…you and i are going to pay for all the poor people anyway….so having them at least take ownership to some small degree of this countries fiscal matters is not a bad thing. Just forget about every politician in play right now and ask this one simple question. If an entire political party has an agenda that always benefits those that pay NOTHING because the SOMETHING is taken from those that HAVE. What election machine lever will those NOTHING payers always pull? Until everyone in this country has at least SOME vested literal interest in every political election…and by interest I mean something they OWN ( as in money) …until that happens..you and I and those who have SOMETHING will always be paying for those who have NOTHING. and worse…the NOTHING’s will have NOTHING to gain and everything to LOSE by ever voting for a candidate that even suggests otherwise. Cains end state goal is NOT 9-9-9…it is the fair tax….9-9-9 is only an interim step into the world of compelling EVERYONE to have a stake in EVERY election cycle…some stakes bigger than others to be sure…but certainly you would agree with me…that it a personal source of irritation to study candidates and elections only to have your vote ruined by those that have NOTHING to lose. It really can’t be any simpler than that.

While it is true that the poor pay no federal income tax they do pay social security tax so it really is not fair to say that they do not pay anything.
Having said that I agree with you that unless you have a stake in the system you have nothing to lose by asking the system for more and more while giving the system less and less. I just do not believe that 9-9-9 is the way to go. It is a massive tax cut to the wealthy and a massive tax increase on the poor and has no chance of passing in our current political state. We need to address spending right now not revenue. Once we get spending under control then we can talk about what is the right way to raise the money we need to operate. It is absolutely true that our tax system is horribly broken. I just think that if we nominate Cain and he focuses on 9-9-9 we will end up with another 4 years of disaster and I am afraid after that it will be too late.

The only type of war we have to be concerned with is nuclear, and we have enough subs to station them around the world for a deterent. We will not be attacked here by an invading force, but rather by people wanting to do us harm by sneaking into the country. because his reaction IS WHAT WILL MAKE THE HEADLINES!

Herman is one who enjoys a good sense of humor – however,

IF he’s not CAREFUL – he could be perceieved as though he takes “sexual”

The people who support Herman just love the way he goes about things: Smoking commercial, Princess Nancy, Is she going to endorse me? etc because they think it means that he is unafraid of being politically correct. What it really means is that he lacks the necessary discipline to win a general election. The more he comes out with statements like this the more his base will donate to his campaign and the more he will slip in the polls. The general public does not pay attention to real issues, they pay attention to headlines and for two straight weeks Herman Cain has had bad headlines. It does not matter if I have a problem with it or not, it is reality! 95% of people know 2 things about Herman Cain: 9-9-9 and he has been accused of sexual harrassment. They handled this in about as bad a way as they could. They should have gotten in front of it but instead it has become a drip, drip, drip of negative press. Herman has let the media define him and now he will have to fight that definition the whole campaign.
Romney has done the same thing. The media defined him as a flip-flopper and now he has to fight that. Even though in reality he has not flip-flopped more than any other candidate.
People read headlines. To win an election you need to control the headlines. Herman is losing the headline war.

If that is indeed the case then why have an election at all? If “95%” of the voters are too stupid to look past the propaganda then maybe it really is time for a violent revolution (history indicates that it’s practically a forgone conclusion with a population that stupid and gutless). People that dumb don‘t deserve to be free and won’t be for long.

My theory (hope?) is that the pain the average “95%”er is dealing with and the incredibly low trust numbers for Congress and the Press (look it up!) will turn these brain dead serfs into patriots.

If not, then it’s looking like Civil War 2.0 is unavoidable.

I am not saying that the 95% crowd is stupid I am simply saying they are not paying attention yet.
Another case in point: Rick Perry. The media narrative is that he is stupid. That does not mean that he is but it sure does mean that every time he says or does something stupid the media will pounce on it. The only way he can combat that is to stop doing and saying stupid things.
That is my whole point about Herman Cain. Stop making jokes about and calling women names! The narrative is that he is insensitive to women, so stop being insensitive to women or be willing to face media criticism.
We really need to tone down the rhetoric. How can you be cool with Civil War 2.0? Millions of people would suffer and die in a civil war.
We need to have discipline and use a clear message to win the hearts and mind of the 95%.
Off to work. Somebody has to pay all the bills for the occupy crowd.

THX-1138: While I’m not “cool with that” about a revolution, I do believe that this election in 2012 will be the deciding factor whether or not there will be one eventually.
Elect a conservative that can ram through tax reforms and allow the economy to recover, and we’ll have about 5 or 6 rough years while the country comes back from the edge.
Re-elect the current marxist and you’ll be guaranteeing a quick trip over that cliff edge and a civil war within 5 years after that, if not sooner. And the marxists are betting on a sleigh ride down the cliff face to safety…..

Heck, he didn’t drive a woman off a bridge and leave her to die, he didn’t send pics of his junk (like Weiner), he didn’t flavor his cigar with ******* juices from an intern (talk about a power disparity….), he didn’t talk to Senators on the phone while the intern gave him a B (ill) J (efferson), his significant other didn’t run an escort service out of their basement (like Barny the clown/representative), he didn’t have his actress/mistress sing happy birthday to him at a party he and his wife attended (the great Kennedy), and he was not accused of rape by a couple women (Billy J again). I understand common sense is at a premium here but lets at least attempt to use it. The more you use it the easier it becomes. I know it‘s a new thing but it’s worth the effort.

Ok, this man has been in the public eye and business for 40+ years. Married to the same woman for 40+ years. Using your new found common sense technique don‘t you think that if he had the types of personality issues that he’s being accused of that companies would not continue to hire him since he would be a lawsuit waiting to happen? Business does not work that way. Real life (not media created life) does not work that way.

There now you’ve had your very first use of your new common sense skills. Keep working on them and they WILL improve with time.

I, for one, don‘t want another president that’s just like Obambi and the more I see of Cain, the more similarities between the two show up. They both play the race card, they both have a cult of personality, they both are popular because of speech style and supposed ‘likability’, they are both thin skinned, they both have hidden their pasts and they both are terribly inexperienced. And now Cain is again copying Obummer by putting up his own version of ‘fight the smears’.

I am thinking after reading Herman Cain’s biography on friends-of web sight that the
(False Harassment) claims against him were carefully laid after he helped defeat
“Hillary Care”… the way I understand things that would be the Chicago/Clinton way.
Someone must have recoginized he had the ability/qualities to go far.

      From the web site…

“In 1994, as head of the National Restaurant Association, he had the opportunity to speak with President Clinton during a nationally televised town hall meeting. Here, Herman challenged the President regarding the impact on businesses if his health care overhaul proposal were passed. President Clinton attempted to assure him and the millions of viewers watching at home that his legislation would not harm American business owners and their employees.

Herman was skeptical. “Quite honestly Mr. President, your calculations are incorrect,” he said. “In the competitive marketplace, it simply doesn’t work that way.”

His words echoed across America, and Newsweek named Herman Cain the primary saboteur of Hillarycare.”
