Herman Cain Endorses Newt Gingrich

Herman Cain Endorses Newt Gingrich

Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has announced his endorsement of Newt Gingrich.

Cain joined Gingrich at the Palm Beach County Republican Party’s 2012 Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday night, where the former Speaker delivered the event’s keynote speech. Todd Starnes of Fox News Radio tweeted that Cain was greeted to huge cheers when he walked on stage with Gingrich.

“I herby officially and enthusiastically endorse Newt Gingrich for President of the United States,” NBC News campaign embed reporter Alexandra Moe quoted Cain saying.

The Georgia businessman’s announcement is the second endorsement from a former Presidential candidate for Gingrich. Texas Governor Rick Perry announced his support for the former Speaker several days before the South Carolina Republican primary.

Cain made it official via Twitter at about 9:20 p.m.

Herman Cain Endorses Newt Gingrich

The former pizza executive is a favorite of the tea party, and left the race before the first nominating contests as he faced accusations of unwanted sexual advances and an extramarital affair. The Associated Press notes that Cain remains popular, and would provide a late boost for Gingrich before Tuesday’s Florida Republican primary.

CNN reports that Cain cited the former House Speaker’s “bold ideas” as the basis for his choice, saying Gingrich wasn’t afraid to propose big ideas that would benefit the nation.

“There are many reasons, but one of the biggest reasons is that I know that Speaker Gingrich is a patriot,” Cain said. “Speaker Gingrich is not afraid of bold ideas and I also know that Speaker Gingrich is running for president and going through this sausage grinder. I know what this sausage grinder is all about. I know that he is going through this sausage grinder because he cares about the future of the United States of America.”

POLITICO reports that Gingrich thanked Cain and said he’d be a part of a commission on “jobs, economic growth and taxes” should Gingrich become president. The former Speaker promised that Cain’s 9-9-9 tax plan would be part of the national conversation. POLITICO also notes that Cain will return to WSB Radio, where he hosted a radio show for five years before leaving to run for president. Cain, according to the network, will provide commentary and political analysis weekdays, and appear as a guest on conservative Neil Boortz’s show.

Commenting on candidates when she was not a good candidate in that she made too many mistakes (the over the top shopping spree among them). She has been in politics way to long.

Of course Herman endorsed Newt, he’s a womanizer just like Newt!

Whether you liked Herman or not, his policies were progressive and why his endorsing Newt, another progressive should not surprise anyone. Herman was the means of an attempted hijacking of the TEA Party and resulted in splintering it away from it’s original message, Taxed Enough Already.

Any one whom is Taxed Enough Already would never support someone who believes in fiat worthless money because it is the means to higher taxes!

If you are bold enough to endorse someone you are saying “I support this persons plan”. Palin supporting Gingrich shows deep down she isnt a tea party patriot she is more of a mouthy globalist.

Santorum is a warmonger who wants to control peoples lives.

Romney is a Mormon who believes in big government.

      ASK YOUR SELF THIS.

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST THREAT FACING OUR NATION? I think most would say our crushing debt.

HOW MUCH IS YOUR CANDIDATE TALKING ABOUT CUTTING? Gingrich, Santorum and Romney dont talk about cuts because they dont plan on cutting anything. Before Obama leaves office we should have I am guessing 16.3 to 16.5 trillion in debt. If Obama or any of these other three get into office the debt continues to rise.

AT WHAT POINT DOES OUR DEBT, COLLAPSE THE WHOLE THING? 20 trillion? At current rates after this presidential term at 20 trillion in 3.5 years?

WHEN DOES CHINA CUT US OFF AND OUR EMPIRE FALLS APART, NOT ONLY ABROAD BUT AT HOME?

I think I know why Sarah Palin supports Gingrich. Remember how miserably Sarah Palin was treated by the media in 2008? I do. I bet that SHE certainly does. Now consider how Newt has gotten so many votes for “taking on” and “talking tough” to debate moderators (members of the media). I think this is a big part of what is driving Sarah Palin in her endorsement. She is acting on emotion. She is livid with the media and she sees Newt as a sort of paladin to champion her (well grounded) grudge with the media.
As for Herman Cain’s support of Gingrich — both are from Georgia and both look outside of marriage for affection. That last item would explain a lot of Limbaugh’s support for Gingrich as well.

Newt mentioned having Sarah run as his VP..that’s why she is supporting him I would assume.. and she’s a smart girl.. but that was a dumb move. ruinned her chances of ever being anything. The nuke video was nice, but what does it have to do with Ron Paul?

First off Iran doesnt currently have a nuke.

Secondly they have no way of deploying a nuke on the United States. They dont have a missle that could reach us much less get through our missle defenses. They have four good subs, which unless we are retarded we keep track of.

If Iran were able to develop a nuke, honestly we wouldnt be the first target. Israel would be. Israel has shown it will not allow hostile nations near them to have the nukes. So basically they would handle it.

Lastly, we are broke. What is more likely to happen? We are attacked with a Iranian nuke or our economy collapses because we spend money like mad men.

“The nuke video was nice, but what does it have to do with Ron Paul?”

RP says it’s OK if every Nation has a few.

“First off Iran doesnt currently have a nuke.”

They are on their way to having one or more.

“Secondly they have no way of deploying a nuke on the United States. They dont have a missle that could reach us much less get through our missle defenses. They have four good subs, which unless we are retarded we keep track of.”

Remember Sept 11 2001? All they have to do is put one on a jumbojet and set it off over the US.

“If Iran were able to develop a nuke,”

They can buy one or two from NK.

“honestly we wouldnt be the first target. Israel would be.”

Iran has been known to lie about it’s plans. When attacked by a pack of Wolves… kill the leader and the rest will run.

“Israel has shown it will not allow hostile nations near them to have the nukes. So basically they would handle it.”

I don‘t trust the Jews to ever do anything that’s not in THEIR interests only. They will piss on the US if it’s in their own best interest.

      “Lastly, we are broke.”

      You got that right!

“What is more likely to happen? We are attacked with a Iranian nuke or our economy collapses because we spend money like mad men.”

@The_Monk, I’ve read nothing, from what you’ve posted, that convinces me Ron Paul isn’t the best choice we have. Of the four candidates, only RP’s rhetoric matches his voting record. Only one cares more about protecting freedom more than obtaining power. Only one has demonstrated he is virtually immune from the pressures of lobbyist.

You, as many others on here, have distorted RP’s position on ending the FEDERAL war on drugs. Simply saying his foreign policy, which is consistent with the Constitution btw, is wrong is not convincing to me. Offering nothing more than the worn out “Iran getting a nuclear weapon” talking point put out by the MSM is all you have. What’s wrong with Congress declaring war, the way it was intended, winning that war quickly and leaving our enemy to rebuild their own nation after they surrender? Personally, I believe that a more defensive posture in the middle east would solve many of our problems. If, for no other reason, that they’d end up killing one another rather than unifying/rallying against us.

Thoughts plagued me such as the Islamic Immigration..9 million in 2008..and I understand 11 thousand a month. The war on drugs has not worked..huge profits to Cartels and drug lords. the incentive is there because of the money.Ones on the take even in our own government. They fund Islam. Give us the Constitution..we make everyone free,,the Muslims are no longer held captive in a theocracy and they can’s shove it down our throats. The Communists are rendered void. The states can criminalize whatever they desire..We are 15 trillion broke..The banks have an open check for 16 trillion. I too would love to see a Santorum/Palin ticket but I am sadden that Cain would endorse Newt..my objections to him are 2 fold: 1..Newt is a “progressive” ..and look at how our nation as a whole has fared with Progressives in both parties has done to & for America
      2. herman cain has yet to publicly refute the last set of charges laid upon him…and as a retired police officer/administrator with 23 years experience…leaves more room for doubt of Mr. Cain..like the guy,has good ideas..but America needs a leader with character, etheics..and Ron paul while is exactly what America “fisaclly & politically” needs we, the people won’t elect him but yet another “lesser than the 2 evils’ type of candidate” ..is what has kept America in trouble in the first place as we,the people forgot and lost our way..and turned away from the Founding Fathers ethos & type of governance: The Constitution…

I agree with triox. Palin has lost her credibility as a conservative, as has Cain by backing the most progressive, least conservative candidate in the group. Thats pretty bad when Newts‘ own party can’t stand him and force him to resign in shame and thats the guy you want to support for president? WHY?

I know GB is right a lot but I believe he is wrong in this case. Newt and Palin are both conservative. Just because she/he doesn‘t fit your exact role of a conservative doesn’t mean he/she isn’t. Grow up people Rick is good but I think there might be a back room deal for whom ever looks like they are going to win the other will dropout and endorse the other and maybe the VP nominee to take out Mitt

Really, if that is what keeping you from liking Newt you are sad strange little people. Ever heard the term “Keep your friend close, but keep your enemies closer” That is what you sometimes have to do to get things done. Mitt is just a RINO, he is a liberal, wolf in sheep’s clothing. If you think you guys got the answers why not just jump behind RP and become a Paulbot? I do MY OWN HOMEWORK I don’t take GB or anyone opinion but my own after much research. The first time I heard Obama as a potential candidate, I went and checked out his record and knew he would be a joke. As far as establishment republican’s giving us McCain, that race 2008 was going to Democrats no matter whom they nominated, hell it could have been Mickey Mouse and he would have won.

Sadly, Sarah seems to have abandoned the conservative movement by throwing her support behind Gingrich – it is a great tragedy and completely inexplicable.

I don’t really think she was ever a true Conservative. Just another Neo-Con. Today she’s trying to figure out why Ron Paul wants to allow Iran drop a Nuke on the USA. She’s always engaged in such deep thought. Such a thinker she is.

Oh I love how she talks financial conservatism as well. Last night she was defending Newt’s big idea of moon colonization while saying that programs such as some million dollar waste in the heartland could be cut… Which it could and it should but really Sarah? Is that really where we want to start?

Ron Paul has mathematically the most conservative record out of a roster of 3,320 Congress members from 1937 to 2002.

Go ahead, check out who is the most conservative Congressman based on all the actual roll call votes taken in Congress during that time: you’ll have to scroll to the very bottom of this list of 3,320 names (because the top of the list is the most liberal). Facts don’t lie.

It is amazing that sooo many people here who are good Patriots are making/regurgitating these cliche, set up, propaganda/PR, Bernays style arguments and not even relizing that they are being used by their own enemy. I include Glenn Beck in this. I am not defending Gingrich specifically here but the arguments made against him are those set up by the Progressive establishment who is trying to knock him down. Even those who support Paul are falling for this. As an example, the CFR argument was started and propogated by the progressive establishment and the Paulies fell for it. I am not saying that Gingrich is the best but he is the best to stop Romney in FL just as Paul is the best to stop Romney in VA and NV. The progressive left is fooling all of you and using you as tools. How does that feel? You are a tool of your enemy.

How about I ask you this, why is it that everybody and everything that doesn’t fall in line with the Evangelicals, is considered the establishment ?? Next question, why is that all Evangelicals have decided to get and line and make sure Romney doesn’t get elected ?? Not just one election, but this is the 2nd one. Why is it also, the Evangelicals have decided the Tea Party is theirs as well ? Personally, especially after having delivered us McCain last election, I am sick and tired of Evangelicals and their coalition as the only representatives of Christ and Conservative values. Then, to go ahead and endorse Newt the serial adulter, sociopath narcissist, Ginrgich, just plain proves my point. You don’t represent Christian Values. Romney has lived a life pure and honest, while being a family man dedicated to wife and children. But no, no… you want the sick ***** who left he wife and daughters starving and penniless because she wasn’t pretty enough to be the presidents wife. Now you tell me he isn’t a pig ?? Whatever …. All I can say is I now can completely understand why the Left gets the picture they do about Christians. I am tired of defending Christians at college when the leaders are going to do stuff like endorse Newt. Seriously ..
As for Caine, I don’t blame him, Newt has a lot of connections and it is wise of a business savy man like Herman to kiss up to Newt. Glad he waited though, reflects his smarts and integrity. Wish Caine was running,.

@Hobbs57…Seriously? Romney is the true insider. In my business I have watched far superior intellects surpassed by folks who were “groomed” to “lead” the company. In my introspection, I watched a nice guy who had no clue how to do the job of the real folks, be handed easy positions, guided by folks who were not allowed to let this person fail, to eventually become President of the company just because his dad had the political connections. This particular person is gained soley because of that. Actually, I remember that he was some 5 years younger, and, he was living in a 5000 sf house paying country club golf dues…whilst the reast of us who were carrying the water were struggling to get by. Crony capiatlism from both sides. Romney is the epitomy of that. He claims he earned his money. Seriously? He was set up to succed by his dad. Governor of Michigan and Presidential candidate at one time. Yeah….Mitt did it on his own…anyone believe that? If you do, then you don’t get a thing about how poitics plays in corporations. Funny how so many politicians son’s are so smart that they rise to the cream of the crop. I’m pulling out the ******** card and the tea party has for some time. The tea party needs to rise up again.

      Santorum? Conservative?
Santorum voted to double the size of the Department of Education… He voted to expand Medicare and add free drugs for senior citizens and he has voted for foreign aid. Those are not conservative principles. Seventy-seven percent of the American people are opposed to foreign aid and Rick Santorum has voted for it every time it’s come down.
Rick Santorum voted with Barbara Boxer with this: S Amdt 3230 – Gun Lock Requirement Amendment

Rick Santorum voted for H J Res 47 – Debt Limit Increase Resolution – Key Vote

Rick Santorum voted for taxes in the Internet Access Tax Bill

Rick Santorum voted for HR 1 – No Child Left Behind Act

Rick Santorum voted to confirm President William J. Clinton’s nomination of Alan Greenspan to be Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for a fourth four-year term.

Rick Santorum voted for HR 3448 – Minimum Wage Increase bill which allows punitive damages for injury or illness to be taxed.

      - Allows damages for emotional distress to be taxed.

      - Repeals the diesel fuel tax rebate to purchasers of diesel-powered automobiles and light trucks.

Rick Santorum Voted to confirm President William J. Clinton’s nomination of Alan Greenspan to be the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for the third four year term.

Rick Santorum voted for the protection of Abortion Clinics

I would add that this list just scratches the surface of Santorum

I agree and more. We in PA kicked Santorum to the curb. He is a good ole boy who does what he is told. Just listen to his responses; they are nothing definitive. When he is called out on something that he voted for that was questionable, he says “I made a mistake.” Well, that is an awful lot of mistakes. We now have a great Senator Pat Toomey.

Note to any intelligent person patiently standing next in line to ask a question of the individual asking to be Commander in Chief of the most powerful military force in the “free world” in 2012: If your question is not in the form of praise for going to war in the Middle East with Iran, then don’t bother to follow the rules and ask politely to have your voice heard. They know that Newt is anti-establishment and is the only one who has a chance turning this country around. I’m really disappointed that Glenn is attacking Newt with such venom. Glenn is looking for the slightest sign of progressives. If you’re looking that hard, you’ll find something progressive about any candidate. Newt is a leader, and I know that God can work with him.
Some of these posts sound so childish. They spew hate about everyone they don’t like. Tell use who and why you like someone, and pray for the others. I like Newt, but if someone else gets the nomination, I’ll vote for them and pray that God will help them be the best president possible.

Redirect the venom to the person who deserves it the most: Obama. And in so doing, gain the respect of conservatives and independents who want a fair accounting of the state of our country. Absolutely, and Gingrich got ‘on the map’ this election by starting out with that statement of action during the opening debate, but quickly, both men let ego get in the way of the prize. They have no political discipline and let these leftist Debate shills bait them into tit for tat egotistical BS. Who made this much? Who said this, who said that in their book, blah blah blah. It’s beyond childish.

      Country first dangit.

They could all have nothing to say but attacking Obama’s infinite failings, but they can’t seem to do it when on the stage with other Republicans which shows ego drives these two men in particular, Nuclear Newt and Mittens. :(

I will vote for either of them I’ll have to admit, but will the rest of the conservatives who sat home for McShame? If they don‘t it’s the end of the republic as we knew it because it’s already almost irreparable without major deportations and arrests and prosecutions and so on…. :(

Well, I stop by from time to time on this site and from what I can tell, is that if you are a really a Santorum fan…which I also happen to be, you are not eloquently getting your point across. I’m looking at this election in a pragmatic way. Santorum does not stand a chance right now. I hope he will sometime soon. I know Newt’s faults. Most of the ones in the media are lies. And Romney is working on establishing himself as the biggest liar in chief right behind obamma.. I”ll take Newt moving things back towards a Reagan philosophy in small steps as common sense would dictate. A Newt/Santorum 16 year run would be fine with me. I fear the most that we’ll get Robamma and that will lead to the end of the constitutional republic envisioned by our founding fathers. Ben Franklin was known to be a ladies man and philaderer, yet, in the end, he made the biggest statement..”we gave you a constitutional republic, let’s see if you can keep it” obviously I have paraphrased…but the sentiment is there. No morales, no republic. What are those morales? Founded on judeao/christian philosophy. Intriguing. I have been a Beck fan for years. He attacks Newt. I see plenty reason to attack Romney. Yet not a single word on that subject. Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

I make my own decisions based on the candidates own words. For instance I AM GOING TO FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE AMERICA and look how much common sense went into that bunch of voters. Or I consider myself to be a modern day progressive aka Hillary Clinton who ran hard. Or Newt Gingrich who said his favorite President was er TR. FDR Woodrow Wilson but changed it to Reagan overnight.. Baloney. Modern day progressive. …His own words tell me not to vote for him. In November 2005, Romney said McCain immigration plan was “quite different” from amnesty and called plan “reasonable.”
Romney in 2005: “I think an amnesty program is what – which is all the illegal immigrants who are here are
now citizens, and walk up and get your citizenship. What the president has proposed, and what Senator
McCain and Cornyn have proposed, are quite different than that.”
In March 2006, Romney supported “path toward citizenship” for illegal immigrants.
Romney in 2006: “Those that are here paying taxes and not taking government benefits should begin a
      process towards application for citizenship.”
Romney in 2006: “The 11 million or so that are here are not going to be rounded up and box-carted out of
      America.”
Romney mischaracterized former Gov. Jeb Bush’s immigration position, comparing his own initiative to let
state police arrest illegal immigrants to a more limited, terrorism-focused program initiated by Bush in wake of 9/11 attacks.
Romney has failed to clearly articulate any plan for dealing with the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S.
For more than a decade, Romney used services of company heavily reliant on illegal immigrant labor to
perform landscaping duties at his home.
While Romney was governor, state of Massachusetts approved government contract for New Bedford firm
raided in early 2007 for massive immigration law violations.

I am not sure how you can tell what Romney is for.

Me too! The only true conservative left in the race is Santorum, who should be getting endorsements by those who profess to be conservatives. By endorsing Newt, Cain and Perry proved they’re no conservative. Perry will never get my vote for Texas gov again, and 9-9-9 plan I used to love just lost it’s credibility.

While I’m at it … Huckabee’s lost favor with me as well. He‘s down here in Texas supporting not the most conservative candidate running for Kay Bailey Hutchison’s senate seat, but the most liberal. I feel like a bride whose husband cheated on her during their honeymoon. I feel deceived.

      Catb,

Using your own skewed logic that you attempted on Lylejk above, your vote for Santorum on Tuesday is a vote for Romney.

The convention this summer will decide it all, making all these endorsements by former candidates pointless. The remaining candidates should be focusing on Obama and his failings and not attacking each other. Why do candidates who had to drop out because they failed feel we want to hear their opinions anyway? If we had admired their viewpoints, they would still be candidates.

I agree; no one candidate will get the 50% or whatever to get the nod so this will be brokered. I don’t exactly know what that will entail; even if that means a candidate from out of the blue could get the nod. Scarry stuff for the GOP but they gave us the lot that we have to choose from and what’s left is not that palatable imo. :)

Birds of a… DUH. Both Cain and Gingrich had been fill in host for Neal Boortz so there is already kinship between them.

[If we had admired their viewpoints, they would still be candidates.]
It wasn’t Cains viewpoints that killed his candidacy. Before sexual allegations his viewpoints had him on top. Apparently if you so much as threaten to toss out the crony tax system you’re taken down.
