Herman Cain Explains Newt Gingrich Endorsement

Herman Cain Explains Newt Gingrich Endorsement

Tea Party favorite Herman Cain once said he endorses “the people,” following his exit from the 2012 Republican presidential primary. So when the Georgia businessman did a double-take last Saturday, endorsing the White House bid of former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, many fans and commentators alike were surprised.

Appearing on Fox News Monday morning, Cain clarified “I still endorse the people, and Newt Gingrich. They are not exclusive of each other.”

Cain told anchor Bill Hemmer that he doesn’t have anything against Mitt Romney, noting that “we don’t have a perfect candidate,“ and said he believes that ”Newt’s communication skills in connecting with the people are stronger than Mitt Romney’s.”

Fox News Insider notes that Cain went on to say that if Gingrich finishes second, it will still be considered a win. “Here’s where I agree with Sarah Palin. The establishment wants everybody to think that Mitt Romney has this thing wrapped up if he wins Florida. No, he does not.”

Watch Herman Cain explain the thinking behind his endorsement:

The voice of the Floridians will be heard tomorrow Jan. 31, 2012 and the majority’s choice is MITT ROMNEY.

Why? First, the tax returns of Mitt Romney reflect his “business and economic expertise” and also reflect his character as a giver, having given almost 14% of his total income compared to Gingrich’s 2.5%.

The total income of Gingrich (2010 tax return) is equivalent to what was given to charity by Mitt Romney. If Gingrich is envious of Mitt Romney, I’m not surprised.

Second, Gingrich left his first two wives when they needed him the most. One had cancer and the other one had multiple sclerosis. These two women were already “down” yet Gingrich did not have any compassion to stay in the marriage, at least, until their health improved…instead he gave them a “broken heart” by abandoning them.

I believe that “broken heart” was worst than the ailment they experienced. This abandonment portrays him as a villain. The majority of the American women, I believe, won’t be excited to vote for him.

Romney’s wife, Ann, has multiple sclerosis and cancer of the breast. Romney stayed with her on those tough times, and never let go. To the majority of the American women, he is portrayed as a hero. He is mine.

Third, Romney is becoming a “standard of giving” to other wealthy Americans. Lately, we knew Bill Gates donated $383 million for the research of tropical diseases and another “moderate millionaire” donated to some “shelters”. The “wealthy

Mr. Cain, how could you? You touted how being a businessman and working in the private sector was soooooo important when you were campaigning. You said businessmen lived in the “real” world and knew better than the government how to create jobs. You were so proud of having NEVER held a political office. Now you go ahead and endorse the the biggest career politician on the ticket! Gingrich has been in Washington D.C. for 38 YEARS!!!!

I don’t get it. None of this makes ANY sense. How Cain cannot see the Progressivism oozing out of Gingrich…

Gingrich is a big government guy who thinks he can do it better and he probably could. But we don’t need another arrogant, narcissistic, academic; we have one of those now. Gingrich has shown that, if he can’t have the nomination, he’ll take down everything and everybody he can and, if the Tea Party associates with him, he’ll take the Tea Party down. I can‘t imagine what Sarah Palin and Herman Cain are thinking but they’re wrong. Character counts, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Conservatives. Newt is not a nice person.

That is totally inaccurate the reason he shut the government down is because of tax increases get the story straight. One happened with Bush one happened with Clinton that is the reason why Bob Dole is mad because he supported tax increases. there were four people mainly behind kicking Newt Gingrich out of speakership one now heads the House of Representatives the other went to jail Tom delay then we have Mr.Paxton and Dick Armey. it‘s truly amazing that people don’t see this being played out right before their eyes bodybag. We are now finding out that Willard Romney has had 23 offshore accounts 23 but once again the media is not reporting us why? He‘s done wonderful in the private sector don’t you think that is just great that Goldman Sachs so happens to operate his blind trusts. One of the banks that got most of the bailout money but Willard don’t believe in bailouts is that right? If he did not have the backing of the corrupt establishment this would be a debate between Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. Seeing Mr. Romney proclaims his innocence and his greatness in the business sector because that‘s where he worked most of life that not being a politician that’s his stance. Personally I question his business ethics don’t you of the remaining candidates he is the only one that the F E C is now looking at on his tax returns. How many others still in the running have offshore account honesty you call that honesty.

Was the park too cold for you today? Once Romney made his money and paid taxes on that money, what concern is it of yours that he puts it in foreign banks? Its not like our banks our the soundest financial institutions; remember the bailouts? If he was trying to keep it secret they would have stayed that way. Stop coveting the man’s wealth, at least a man who knows how money is made is heading for the White House, much better option than the Borrower in Chief we have now.

I don’t think anyone is looking for a cabinet position, that’s kind of rediculous to infer. Newt’s voting record, along with the Contract with America and his books, calling him Progressive is not something which reflects this, so it is nothing more than a cheap attack talking point without any proof. I don’t know of too many Progressives that have gotten people off long-term unemplyment and welfare, cut taxes, or balanced the budget. Compare these to Mitt and BHO and you can see a true difference. I would go with a Newt/Santorum 2012 in a heartbeat, Herman Cain is simply pointing out that a historical record of positive accomplishments is a lot more supportive than a one-term governor that didn’t re-run because he knew he would lose, and that three times the attack ads does not make a candidate better, just able to spend more to discredit a candidate.

To answer your quesiton about my comment, sitting on the couch was an attempt to show that Conservatives are not without a thought on GW, listen to the commercial and what he says. Right after that, he sparred against Algore on GW, watch that debate. Cap and trade was changed way back when the numbers started showing up as it was going to destroy the country and redistribute it to other countries, along with the change itself on what the real GW models were false. There were a lot of people that gave GW a look because the left had lots of made up information that the globe was warming and we were responsible for it, then there came a few naysayers, then the “wait a minute”, so it is more of an end on the correct side of it vice the past. Consulting for a company that asks an independent company to provide a service is not lobbying, and at the same time, lobbying is not illegal unless I missed something. This is a non-issue, just a talking point, it was F&F that solicited Newt, not the other way around according to the contract. As far as the Wilsonian bit goes, well, I was almost 45 years old before I figured out that FDR was actually a bad guy, but he did have some brilliant things he accomplished, some good, some bad, so difficult to hold a school-taught iconic president against him, but you sure don’t hear him talking about him now, do you?

Better than TV I do know that at the given time the alternative was an individual mandate compared to Hillary care you do know how they write bills correct? Now onto global warming maybe you did not catch him on C-SPAN bashing Al Gore’s theory slipped your mind right? And as for Fannie and Freddie do you really know what his discussions were and why he was paid what the purpose really was for his consultation fees? Speaking of bills is the same thing with the NDAA whether you voted for or against it you are going to receive some backlash. Same goes with the patriot act if the intention is for the mere radicals that are against the United States that‘s the way should’ve been written but once again it’s a Catch-22 Bill.
