Cain Quips About Gloria Allred on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Herman Cain Appears on Jimmy Kimmel & Says He Will Set Record Straight

ATLANTA (The Blaze/AP) — Remember when Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said he wouldn’t make any more statements about the sexual harassment charges waged against him? Well — that was short-lived.

Cain is now vowing to “set the record straight” at a news conference one day after a fourth woman – and the first to reveal her identity – accused him of inappropriate sexual behavior a decade ago, the latest in a string of claims that have rocked his presidential campaign.

“There is not an ounce of truth to all these allegations” and the graphic account from Sharon Bialek is “totally fabricated,” the Georgia businessman told late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. When Kimmel joked about whether Cain would hire famed attorney Gloria Allred to represent him, the presidential candidate quipped, “I can’t think of anything that I would hire her to do.”

Watch his Kimmel appearance below:

Cain planned to address the latest furor Tuesday afternoon in Phoenix as he seeks to stem the fallout of a controversy stretching into its second week.

“I’m going to talk about it,” Cain said, adding “we are taking this head on” – a reversal from just days ago when told reporters he was done answering questions about the matter.

That was before Bialek went on national television Monday and provided a name and a face to what had, until then, been at least three anonymous sexual harassment allegations against Cain. Bialek’s accusations – that Cain groped her in a car after she asked for his help finding a job – spun his unorthodox campaign into an uncertain new territory.

An upstart in the presidential race, Cain shot to the top of public opinion polls and emerged, however temporarily, in surveys as the main conservative challenger to Mitt Romney. Tea party activists and conservatives unenthused with the former Massachusetts governor have flocked to Cain’s tell-it-like-it-is style and self-styled outsider image in recent weeks.

There were, however, growing signs of unease in conservative circles as, one by one, a handful of women claimed Cain acted inappropriately toward them while the head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.

“He deserves a fair chance. But that doesn’t mean he gets a pass. These are not anonymous allegations anymore unfortunately,” said New Hampshire conservative activist Jennifer Horn, who last week had condemned media coverage of the allegations against Cain. “He does need to take another step and answer a few more questions.”

Herman Cain Appears on Jimmy Kimmel & Says He Will Set Record Straight“Oh,” exclaimed South Carolina GOP Chairman Chad Connelly said when told details from Bialek’s news conference. He said character issues matter in a state where the last governor tearfully confessed an affair and the current governor faced unproven allegations from two men that she had affairs. “Our voters care about moral attitude,” Connelly said. “Character does matter.”

Still, Cain backers remained solidly behind the former pizza company executive. They pointed to the presence of Allred – a high-profile attorney with Democratic ties – alongside Bialek at a news conference on Monday in New York as proof that the latest claim was a partisan smear.

“The fact that she’s involved removes all credibility,” Georgia Christian Coalition president Jerry Luquire said. “If he says he didn’t do anything than I believe him.”

Bialek is the fourth woman to say that Cain engaged in inappropriate behavior during his time at the helm of the restaurant group.

At least two women who worked there at the time filed sexual harassment complaints.

A third woman told The Associated Press last week that she considered filing a workplace complaint against Cain over what she deemed sexually suggestive remarks and gestures that included a private invitation to his corporate apartment. And a former pollster for the restaurant association has said he witnessed yet another episode involving a different woman.

In New York on Monday, Bialek said Cain – an acquaintance – made a sexual advance in mid-July 1997, when she had travelled to Washington to have dinner with him in hopes he could help her find work or get her job back at the National Restaurant Association after she had been fired from a job in the group’s education arm.

The two met in Washington, she said, and after having dinner were in a car for what she thought was a ride to an office building.

“Instead of going into the offices he suddenly reached over and he put his hand on my leg, under my skirt toward my genitals,” she said. “He also pushed my head toward his crotch.”

She said she asked Cain what he was doing and recalled he replied, “You said you want a job, right?”

None of Cain‘s other accusers has provided details as graphic as Bialek’s account. But Joel Bennett, an attorney who represents one of them, said her details were “similar in nature” to what his client encountered.

In his only public appearance of the day, Cain told Kimmel during the late-night interview that he got angry and disgusted as he watched Bialek and Allred. He said his wife didn’t watch it but that he called her immediately afterward.

Minutes after Bialek’s news conference, the Cain camp flatly denied the charges.

“Mr. Cain has never harassed anyone,” spokesman J.D. Gordon said in a statement. Aides insisted that the newest allegation changed nothing and said Cain would move forward with his plans to attend a private speech in Phoenix on Tuesday morning and a debate Wednesday night in Michigan.

“We are staying on message and talking about the issues,” Gordon told The Associated Press.

As if to prove the point, the Cain campaign released a new web video – targeting voters in the lead-off caucus state of Iowa – highlighting what it says are excessive federal regulations on farmers that are driving up costs for consumers.

But, behind the scenes, the campaign appeared to hunker down in damage-control mode; voicemails for Gordon and campaign manager Mark Block were full by mid-afternoon.

Later that night, the campaign announced that Cain would appear at the Phoenix news conference.

Aides made clear that he would fight the allegations, casting the allegations as baseless and seeking to undermine the credibility of both Bialek and her attorney in the news release.

“The questions the media should be asking are who‘s paying for Gloria Allred’s fee, how did Ms. Bialek get introduced to Ms. Allred, and was she paid to come forward with these false accusations or was she promised employment?” the news release said.

Allred has said Bialek approached her and that her client didn’t get compensated for stepping forward.

When Gloria brings one of her Bimbos out for a Press Conference, there is no statement in the News story which tells the public that Gloria is a BIG California Democratic Operative. There should be some juicy stories about her if they are not scrubbed from the web. She is not the usual lawyer, she is the Hit Man for the DNC. I agree, the very White – Blond is not believable. Herman should come out today and explain how He is going to sue this woman who is out to be the Next Anita Hill! It seems that Fame trumps Motherhood. Thank you for notifying us that you are on the path to acceptance that your liberal agenda will lose. Your stage comment means dog squeeze. If something is not true and a person denies it, then they are in the same Loss Process. The ones who should really look at their losing is:
      1) Obama
      2) Jon Huntsman
      3) Ron Paul
      4) Rick Perry
      5) Michelle Bachmann
      6) Rick Santorum

They should drop out respectfully and then we can truly see who is the front runner. Some will go to Newt, some to Cain, and anyone but Romney. Hell, the Rent is Too Damn High Guy is still in it if i am not mistaken!

There is smoke. Definitely needs looking into. It needs to be looked into 3 ways. What Cain did. What Axelrod did. What the women did.

I also like to note that if women don’t report sexual assault, then maybe women in general are not fit to be leaders or in positions of authority like in Islamic countries.

VECHORIK…something is amiss with Ms Bialek. She’s claiming that Allred is representing her pro bono..if Bialek is not filing any claim nor being sued..“respresenting” what I ask? Bialek is making the talk show rounds.. is she not getting paid I ask you? She claims her 13 years old told her to speak out. How many mothers discuss being sexually harassed two decades ago with their adolescent sons? But here’s the kicker..Bialek has been in constant job turn arounds and financial trouble she seems to be a problem employee or at least a poor one. Furthermore…it appears she made a point of approaching Cain at a tea party event recently and was very friendly with him as witnesses are now saying. Does this sound like something a woman who was sexually harassed by the same man would do? No…really..would you be friendly with someone you believe nearly raped you?

@JohnnyMidknight Well you got part of the list right. Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Rick Perry. Although they never had a chance and show their grasp on reality and disrespect for their contributors by staying in it and wasting their money. As far as Cain, attacking the victim and disrespecting their attorney is neither classy nor presidential. Once again, it is how he has and is handling this that is telling of both his lack of real leadership and character.

It really irritates me that she waited 14 years to come out with her story. Even if it’s true, she waited too long to be believable. She said she was embarrassed at the time and didn’t want to tell people. So going on National TV and telling the world is less embarrassing? Why didn’t she jump out of the car instead of having him take her back to the hotel if she felt threatened? Why didn’t she go to the police? Why is she choosing to go all over the news networks telling her story? I thought she was embarrassed. The fact that she was smiling when she was speaking doesn’t sit well. I would think she would have been serious and humble about it. Looks like she is enjoying the attention. Look what she is doing to his wife by doing this. How sad. How can she live with destroying a man and his family?

      Sarcasm?

I expect many/most (not all) rich, powerful men of any type to fool around. That is just inductive thinking (life experience) on my part.

We have also recently read where many top execs/leaders tend to rate high on traits for psychopathy. Or at the very least “they think they are all that & bag of chips”

      http://www.cnbc.com/id/44376401/Think_Your_Boss_Is_a_Psychopath_That_May_Be_True

I remember the adage that a person needs heroes but they inevitably disappoint. So if the allegations prove to be true, I’ll be disappointed for sure. But I’ll be disappointed at more than just Cain. I’ll be further disappointed at the media & others. I also am determined to see that all the people who hold information like this for a card to play at a card game pay too. Axelrod, Perry, Rahm Emanuel, Obama. Obama’s team was the same one that got rid of his State Senate opponent (a black woman) on a technicality & unsealed court records in a Senate race. Obama has plenty of fire his belly to get elected, but none to protect America.

In the end I’ll vote for Cain or any Republican over Obama.

If Obama wins, I hope you remember how you voted when a SA-24 brings down a civilian jet.

Even though the shame is undeserved on their part, real victims telling their story look down as they share the details, a shame reflex. You can still be president.” I don’t care HOW sexually harassed some woman thinks she was. This whole thing is pathetic.

Hopefully all the blah blah will blow over once they realize that it’s not hurting him in the polls. Joyce D, are you serious? Clinton RAPED numerous women, sexually assaulted others, intimidated and threatened them, and then destroyed them in the media. But you say they loved him and he had to fight them off?
There is a VAST difference between Mr. Cain and Mr. Clinton. And the fact that Mr. Cain is a man of character and Mr. Clinton is a man of no decent character is just the beginning. I don’t mean to be unkind, but did you really think through what you said there?
Having been the victim of sexual assault, I would sympathize with the woman who is claiming it, but to me she is simply NOT credible. If this woman really is a Tea Party supporter (presumably someone to whom character REALLY matters in their candidates), why did she wait so long to expose Mr. Cain? Frankly, if it had been me, and the man who assaulted me was running for office to represent me, I’d be on the phone in a minute.
Having been the target of character assassination, where all I could do is say “No I didn’t”, I sympathize with Mr. Cain, as well. When there is nothing you can do but say over and over, “No, I didn’t, that’s not true”, you are rendered helpless to a certain degree. In the current media climate, and with accusations that evoke such immediate, strong, visceral reactions, his only defense is denial. And because of the kind of accusations, it is considered taboo to question the credibility of the women. Unless the accused is Bill Clinton., of course.

She felt so dirty and embarrassed that… she went right back to work the next day and never said a word to anyone there.

    Yeah, right.

Sexual harassment is a trumped-up charge 99% of the time. Women go to work dressed as hot as they can get away with, cleavage hanging out, dresses or pants designed to accentuate their butts, skirts that barely cover their crotches, cosmetics applied to make them appear to be “in heat”, all trying to catch one or two guys in the office that make them wet and tingly. Then, the ugly dude gets turned on, tries to make a pass, and viola, sexual harassment.

Women are predators in everything they do. Maybe it is time to begin firing them for showing the tops of their boobs or the curve of their butt, or their camel toes. They aren’t doing this accidentally – they have fought tooth and nail with the garment industry to force these designs to the forefront. That is hard professional, that is hardly conducive to a calm workplace.

In fact, if there were no workplace dress codes at all, women would wear thong bikinis to work and demand the heater be turned even higher, lol!

Yeah, but a boss can’t approach and warn the woman to dress more appropriately to the woman. It would mean that person noticed her and was looking at her in the first place. She would upset and embarrassed by the comment and once again go to whoever she had to, to cry sexual harassment. There is no way out of it. You compliment the lady, it’s harassment. You insult the woman, it’s harassment. And nowadays, even if your a woman and your boss is a woman, she can still claim that you came on to her, thanks to the gay revolution. This is an issue that has gone out of control. Until people stand up and show they’ve had enough, woman and the media will continue to use this card.
This is why it’s so important that Cain fans do not back down on his support. If they let him go now, it’s going to prove to every republican out there that media has total power over them, without any evidence whatsoever. Then don’t ever expect another decent candidate with a spine ever again…it wont happen.

All the race cards, sexual harrassment cards, discrimination cards, and general BS cards need to be thrown out of the game and burned. Will more people ever wake up and think for themselves instead of being sheep led to slaughter?

I am a little confused here, Maybe someone can explain. If HC was sitting next to her in a car and he had his hand up her whatever, how in the world could he reach over with his other hand and pull her head to his whatever?? There are a few other things here that don’t make sense. You don’t need to be a brain surgeon to understand that. She wasn’t to smart when she put this story together. Of course she isn’t going to file a complaint. There is none. I think she is getting enough money from whoever asked her to do this. How more corrupt can a person get. She reminds me of Potiphar’s wife. Poor Joseph was put in prison for his lies. Let’s pray God steps in here before it comes to that. I like to think of Herman Cain as a Joseph. If that is true than there is hope for this country.

Let’s not forget her comment to his actions towards her. “What are you doing?”

I’m sorry, if a guy started to grope me and shove my head towards his crotch, “What are you doing?” would ‘not’ be the reaction from my mouth. If she was as offended by this as I would be having some stranger do that to me, there would be some censored comments involved, as well as some smacks to the guy’s head. Is she kidding me? That even sounds fake!

To which she just said “hey, what are you doing? Take me back to my hotel room”

My wife would have fought back, used some choice words and jumped out of the car. Then made a ton of phone calls to family & friends (They love to talk about EVERYTHING, especially scandals…sheesh). I could understand not talking about a rape but there is nothing embarrassing saying to to a sexual advance.

Now I hear that she showed up to 1 tea party and hugged Herman… something is clearly off.

The feeding frenzy on this whole series of attacks on Cain has left me with a worse opinion of the media than I had before.

I wonder if there are any news reporters left in American media. All we have are news ratings professionals in front of the cameras or newspaper sales staff writing for the print media. They’re all chasing a buck at root, not news.

With this last lady, they finally got the who, what, when, where, why and how part into their reporting, but they have left out corroboration.

The news was once a noble profession. It is now a public opinion engineering operation.

If you don’t, then you have surrendered your right to complain. If you DO, then you are guilty of helping perpetuate a system you see as fatally flawed. Either way, you seem to come off as a bit hypocritical. Maybe, if you don’t like having your PICTURE taken (as you remarked elsewhere), you might consider that posting on comment sections is a measure of how full you are of yourself.. After all, people get a much better idea of who you are from reading what you write as opposed to any picture that might be taken of you. Just sayin….

Was it assault or was it a spurned woman. Someone who had sex with Cain to get a position & when no more jobs or promotions were coming then claimed rape. She might have approached him first about the quid pro quo.

As the pastor use to say:,” if there is a problem between people, one could be wrong, the other could be wrong or both could be wrong.”

It is looking like she initiated this to get jobs from Cain (& others in other businesses). Of course he can’t say that. She probably looked for a job on his campaign staff & future Whitehouse Communications job. When one wasn’t forth coming, she came forth not with the truth about a voluntary affair (for job advancement) but with assault allegations.

We’ve seen many folks “Borked” in the past, and as the lefts descend into the pit of self-absorption even further, it would make sense that the fabrications would grow in scale.

This is Chicago politics as taught and practiced by the Democratic Party. I don’t know if Cain committed harassment or not. There is no evidence except she said/he said. As a former HR executive that has conducted sexual harassment investigations in the past, I am very leary of a person has to read as statement to articulate what happened. I thought it odd that she smiled during portions of her recited statement.

If she would have filed a complaint with the at the time, it would be a different story. If the purpose of the dinner was to discuss re-hire, she is an applicant and is covered by federal and state law. She chose not to complain. The statute of limitations has expired. She does not have a case. Her only role is to be a spoiler.

The left wants him out and probably the right also. He is not one of them, that’s why we like him. What better way to discredit him? Allegations he cannot prove his innocence of. It‘s a lot easier to prove something happened than something that didn’t happen, and they know it. they have no intention or ability to prove anything, only sowing seeds is enough – maybe.

Oborrow, his minions and handlers are scared shytless of Cain and will do whatever it takes to destroy him in the public opinion. They have deep pockets and an endless line of gold-diggers to choose from, I’m sure. And, there are a lot of people who are easily lied to. After all, did we not elect the sitting liar in chief?

I didn’t see the press vetting anything of Obama. Where are his college transcripts (we know what grades Bush made), where are the ladies he dated coming forward and saying what a charming guy he was? Where are the kids he taught in college coming forward and saying what a great professor he was? Where are the collegues that remember being in college with him saying what a great guy he was? For that matter where are the men he dated? I read about a reporter in Chicago that got poisoned because he possibly knew too much.
