‘He’s a Bastard’: Teachers Caught on Video Bashing Chris Christie

Conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe has released another installment in his “Teachers’ Unions Gone Wild” series. The latest is billed as a Christmas special, and features an undercover videographer posing as a teacher and asking educators what they think of NJ Gov. Chris Christie.
The video shows the educators, as well as education workers, calling Christie a “bastard, “nut,“ ”liar,“ ”anti-education,“ and one tacher going as far as to say ”we hate him.”
Almost unbelievably, it also features one education worker admitting that she‘s a little afraid to call Christie names because of O’Keefe’s recent undercover work:
“Once again, the NJEA has shown that it knows no limits when it comes to protecting tenured teachers,” O’Keefe said in a statement on his website. “But to protect someone they think is a teacher from prosecution for touching children in an inappropriate manner takes things to a whole new level.”
O‘Keefe’s statement refers to his undercover investigator Christopher Heneghan’s conversations with educators and union officials in the video about fake charges of “kiddie fiddling.” In the video, he seems to get advice and support from those officials.
Christie has been an outspoken advocate for education reform, including tougher standards for teachers and increased accountability and transparency.
“I don’t believe, in this country, that anybody should be guaranteed a job for life after three years,” Christie said last week, according to O‘Keefe’s statement. “I don’t think if you talk with the public about that that they would endorse this idea for a second. I personally believe that tenure, as it is constituted now in NJ, is an absolutely failed and antiquated system which needs to be substantially reformed or eliminated.”

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 3:16pmthe only reason these teachers are saying this crap is because the unions are afraid of christy if they acre as much as he does about their kids education and their state they would support what he is doing to save their state, but as we all know the unions are in it for themselves, what i don’t understand is, why the union workers allow their union bosses to use them like they do? don’t any of them care about their kids education and their country?. i know they need a job, but damn after a while you would think that they would get tired of being used for a communist agenda. i would wish that they would stand up for freedom for once instead of a job that they wont have once the government and their union bosses get what they want {one world order } i mean, they will bring their wages down so someone in another country can make more then what will they do? nothing, because it will be to late and they let it happen and when their kids are turning on their parents because union propaganda taught them that the unions and the new world order is the law, they will wonder what the hell happened, and they { the workers } will be the blame. so i support christy for standing up for what is right and for trying to save his state and hopefully the country. that is why they call him names and why they don’t like him,. now that is communism.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 3:08pmI’m kind of pi$$ed off that James O’keefe has revealed this corruption in the format he did. This is serious business. An investigation is needed of this union to find out if a teacher has come to them with real admissions to sexual misconduct and find out what actions they took.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 3:43pmAnother thought- if a kid goes to school with the slightest mark, bruise or whatever, they are questioned by the teacher about how it got there. And if the teacher suspects abuse they are obliged by law to report it to the authorities. But, a teacher can commit sexual misconduct and go to their union for protection. Really-

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 3:06pmThis is the problem with unions, they protect the bad as well as the good. There wouldn’t be much of a union if they only represented the competent, but again this goes to show that its about power and money and has nothing to do with the quality of education. Most Catholic schools/private schools outperform public schools time and time again, because they don’t have to keep a teacher employed who has three years and a day in the system. Private/Catholic school teachers have to compete for their jobs everyday and what you get out of a system like that is better performance for your dollar.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 5:06pmNot only do they protect the bad and the good, but they force membership. I can say this as a previous union member. I protested paying dues, I had no choice. I was threatened with being ostracized and targeted and a deduction would be taken anyway. That is the issue. You have no choice, no say, unless you join the system and then God help you. Then its a power struggle between unions and administration/bosses where all reason and fairness are thrown out.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 3:50pm“Stroke of the pen. Law of the land. Kinda cool.” –Clinton presidential aide Paul Begala, July 1998
President Kennedy’s Executive Order 10998, allowing Federal unions, is what opened the door for public sector unions at the state and local level, which is leading to bankruptcy from bloated public sector salaries, benefits, and retirement plans. Businesses that offered plans like many governments have would go bankrupt. Gov’t entities will, too, eventually, but it will be much more painful.
This is why unions should again be outlawed for public employees.
The practice of keeping bad teachers “dancing lemons,” revealing the sad practice of shuffling bad teachers around the system instead of firing merely because they may have tenure on the job. While new teachers are automatically laid off due to budget cuts, teachers that have a disciplinary problem or a troubled history are kept because they’ve been on the job longer. This is wrong and reflects badly on the union and teachers alike, not to mention that it leads to a bad education for our kids.
What is the purpose of teacher unions? To work for children? Establish new and better requirements? Push their members to better serve parents and children?
“Despite what some among us would like to believe, it is not because of our creative ideas. It is not because of the merit of our positions. It is not because we care about children. And it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power. And we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues each year because they believe that we are the unions that can most effectively represent them, the unions that can protect their rights and advance their interests as education employees”
…National Education Association’s just-retired General Counsel Bob Chanin. (The NEA is the Monroe County Association’s parent body). NEA General Counsel Bob Chanin Says Farewell: <
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-piPkgAUo0w&feature=player_embedded
As legendary New York teachers union leader Albert Shanker said, "When school children start paying union dues, that's when I'll start representing the interests of school children."
All government unions should be banned. The idea that government workers need protection from guess who?? THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, is ridiculous. remember, teachers are government employees. Ban government unions.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 3:18pmWhile it is a given that a very high percentage of teachers do good work and probably avoid activism within their unions, the fact remains that unions of the day are detrimental to pay scales, pensions and productivity and in the case of unions tenure after three years.
Report Post »Those teachers who are not good at their job and who press for shorter hours and bigger paychecks and huge pensions are a significant drain on the economy and taxpayer dollars. These activists who condemn Christie somehow feel they should not have to contribute to getting America on the right economic track and would seemingly rather drain the system and to hell with the rest of the country.
Christie should be hired by the other forty-nine governors to learn how they should be doing their job and to stand up to the Federal government who continue to overstep their authorities as prescribed in the Constitution. It’s time to rid ourselves of unions and get to equitable pay and pensions not to mention getting rid of the bad teachers.

Get rid of the unions and tenure (what idiot ever thought that was a good idea, except, of course, the person getting it) get the Fed’s out of the schools, restore discipline, ban the lawyers and let the kids learn. Posted on December 14, 2010 at 3:53pmGov Elect Rick Scott Hints at School Vouchers for All
He did not use the term vouchers. Others called it an “education savings account.”
Florida Gov.-elect Rick Scott on last Thursday blew the door wide open to the idea of a voucherlike program for all students, saying he’s working with lawmakers to allow state education dollars to follow a student to the school his or her parents choose.
“So if the parents want to spend it on virtual school, then spend it on virtual school,” he continued. “If they want to spend it on whatever education system they believe in, whether it’s this public school or that public school or this private school or that private school, that’s what ought to happen.”
“The way I look at it is, we’re allocating dollars to students and the parents ought to figure out how to spend those dollars because they can figure out what their child needs more than anybody else,” he said.
The state would deposit money into a child’s “savings account” instead of channeling education dollars through the public system.
The proposal would allow parents to take an undetermined percentage of the state’s per-student funding amount — last year, it was $6,843 — and direct it to the school of their choice, public or private.
The teachers unions will rightly view any such initiative as a declaration of war. FL will be the proxy battle ground for a national discussion on the purpose of schooling. But then teachers unions represent the needs of teachers not the need of students.
I love the sound of liberal heads exploding in the morning.
It’s about time for this – take the money away from the school board and put in in the hands of the parents
Governor-elect Rick Scott announced that Michelle Rhee had joined his transition team. Rhee is no stranger to controversy. As chancellor of the D.C. Public Schools, she fired 400 teachers in four years and butted heads with their unions.
“Kids are getting a really crappy education right now,” Rhee said emphatically on the award-winning documentary “Waiting for Superman.” She’s a strong advocate for ending teacher tenure and implementing merit pay.
