‘He’s Wasting Our Time’: Glenn Beck Slams Obama’s Anti-Business Speech in Electrifying Segment

Glenn Beck, in one of his most forceful monologues yet, took on President Obama’s speech declaring that “If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own.”

“Wow, is this man dangerous,” Beck said in a shocked voice after playing the infamous clip. “I want you to remember that next time, Bill Gates. You know, when you quit Harvard and you worked out of your garage, I want you to remember this. It wasn’t you, no, it was somebody else. Remember that time, Mark Zuckerberg, when you launched that website out of your dorm room? Stop patting yourself on the back, Jack, that was somebody else.”

The reductio ad absurdum implicit in Beck’s statements should be obvious.

“Here’s the good news,” Beck continued, “Obama is telling us now what he really truly believes: From government, all blessings flow. Ronald Reagan said the opposite – ‘government isn’t the solution; government is the problem.’ But Barack Obama believes that without the roads, how would people get to Wal-mart? Without teachers, how would anyone learn anything? This argument is so fatally flawed and easily flawed that it’s laughable.”

And point out those flaws Beck did. For one thing, he made the obvious point that even with the most gifted teacher, not every student passes a class, and indeed, the teacher isn’t given all the credit (or even most of it) if a student aces the test. Moreover, as Beck pointed out, many companies that have gotten the most government help (like Solyndra and a host of others) have failed, while companies that didn’t take as much help from the government failed. Clearly, there is a bit of individual success involved here, and the idea that government help necessarily correlates to success really is laughable.

Ultimately, though, Beck didn’t laugh. Instead, he concluded with a somber declaration about what it would mean if President Obama were reelected.

“Look, America, here’s what you need to remember tonight: This President isn’t even really worth spending much more time talking about anymore. I mean, he wasting our time, and he’s keeping us from the success that we all have ahead of us. He’s holding America back from being the America we all know it can be. He‘s holding us back and he’s trying to transform us into something that we’re not,” Beck thundered. “This election is for the very soul of America, and guess who’s going to win? And you know what? If we don’t win, then we deserve to be destroyed.”

    I have been watching Glenn regularly on ROKU and enjoy all the programs! I completely have decided that to expect anything with good character or logic… for our good… in this nation will Not come from this present leadership!!! Whatever they say is nothing but Garbage In-Garbage out !!! Coming up in Nov. will be the majority of us…our time to speak in support of America‘s Founding Fathers’ gifted hard work!!! There is the Character and Respect we all want to see in our national leaders again !!! There is a big difference between hard-work for the good of all…and…the end justifies the means !!! REALLY… Jealousy and Revenge and Angry Chaos can only come from one source!!! Americans will always Stand and Support The Common Good of Our Nation Under God !!! Those that do not want that lifestyle should find themselves another country that they can be happier with!!!

    What you’re seeing is the implementation of socialism by stealth. What you‘re seeing is the destruction of this Repbublic by the radical left WITH THE EXPLICIT PERMISSION OF ’WE THE PEOPLE’.

    We the people apparently desire Medicare and Social(ist) Security more than we appreciate/understand the freedom we have/had.

    Leftists are LOSERS! They are haters. They are anti-life. They hate the good for being good.

    If there is an anti-christ, HE IS A COMMUNIST!

    He tempts you with free stuff/security/safety/favors from the government, HE STEALS THESE THINGS FROM YOU AND YOUR NEIGHBOR and then sells them back to your at the price of your very freedom. When that finally falls to pieces, and it can end no other way, HE WILL KILL YOU.

    From ‘Hope and Change’ to piles of corpses. This is the life-cycle of the great Siren call; the greatest lie, communism.

    It murdered 150+ million people this way just last century.

    This is the fate that the wise and benevolent founders of this Republic were trying to save your from.

    When you allow these ideas to fester you are hastening your own death.

    There is no other way for this blatantly anti-life belief system to end.

    Save yourselves, Americans.

      While many can sense the evil in Obama‘s statement I don’t think they see just how deep in it they are with this man and his ilk.

      We are in serious, serious trouble.

      When you understand the collectivist you understand that this statement is an argument against property rights and against the individual’s mind.

      Without property rights no other rights exist.

      We survive as individuals, period. I don’t hunt with your hands, carry my catch with ‘the people’s legs’, eat with society’s stomach.

      There is no survival by a ‘society’ because only individuals can ‘survive’.

      When they openly advocate the subjugation of the individual to the masses/state/collective, that is when the anti-life core of their belief system is totally exposed. The individual must reign as his own master, and reap the rewards from the use of his mind (incentive to keep on surviving), or the human race (that’s you) is doomed.

      Remove the sovereignty of the noble human and steal his incentive to survive and you will need many bulldozers to push all of those corpses into all of those graves.

      THIS is Progressivism, the new face of communism.

    To be fair to Obama he is somewhat correct in MY case. My mom was a single mom on welfare and food stamps for several times between the work she could get. I had to buy food with food stamps as a teenager and was so embarrassed I would wait for the lines at the cashiers to empty so no one would see me. My mom ALWAYS role modeled work as the dignified life. I joined the ARMY (under Carter, did not want to stay) and took two minimum wage jobs until I chanced upon an Army buddy who got me an interview at the state mental hospital where I worked for 12 years. I went to nursing school, first in my family to go to college, and became a Nurse. I paid for school as I went and left school with NO DEBT. I am now solid middle class. So, thank you America, for feeding me for a few months when I was a kid. I got my first job at 12 (newspaper), then 16 (pizza) then the Army at seventeen. I have never let you down and have paid taxes my entire adult life. I would NEVER want my boy on welfare and he has a solid work ethic. But REALLY Barack? I put a whole lot more into life than you ever have AND I pay your frickin’ salary and sent the princess to Mexico with her 25 secret service agents. I paid back what the country fed me when I worked for the pizza parlor, the rest has been gravy for others. Kiss my A@@!

      He was an adjunct law professor. An adjunct is a part-time instructor at a post-secondary school. Many adjuncts work for only a few semesters while others move into full time work and maybe into a tenure track.

      Considering his hate for the U.S constitution, living behind enemy lines in a culture so different than his own, working effectively as an agent, I‘d say he’s pretty loyal to his employer, who ever he may be (not to be confused with the voters who put him in the White house).

      Here is the issue. And in a weird way I would like to see it happen. What happens WHEN we go bankrupt and finally the recipients don’t have a check and EBT card? Seen the movie “The Road”?
      I learned from that and have more than one round in my .38 special. In fact I don’t even have a .38 special.

      Why empty .. Where has he lied or steered one in the wrong direction. You don’t agree with individualism and hard work and would rather have evrything given to you. I don’t agree with Beck on everything, but he sure tells it like it should be and what made this country a beacon of light among the rest of the world. Beck tells us to think for our selves .. you seem to disagree with him and when he is right you don’t have the guts to say Beck was right. If Beck is wrong, prove it with facts.

      My post pointing out that after saying that the Obama administration is trying to create a dependency in the citizenry for government assistance, Mr Beck said he thinks the government should give the far right a state where they can set up up a libertarian paradise. has disappeared

      He said the President is a coward for not doing so.

      Mr. Beck, whining and name calling because he is not getting the government assistance he thinks he is entitled to receive.

    He does not understand success. He or any of his kind have ever really had any. Someone always helped him and his kind. They are incapable of doing anything on their own. It is what they are. It cannot be changed. I hope the American citizenry sees the temerity of this affirnmative action experiment. Maybe we should have looked at Africa and how that is going to get a hint that these people don’t do too well in leadership positions. We need to revise this and never ever ever ever do it again.

    The president can kiss my butt. My husband has worked his butt off for the past 18 years dealing with government regulations and complicated tax codes. I am so tired of socialists thinking that business owners and entrepreneurs need to share their success. My husband works 80 hours a week and gives up time with his family without complaint and deserves credit for that. HIS hard work has made him successful not some bureaucrats sitting in Washington nor any welfare recipient sitting on their bum at home.

    The president is out of touch and doesn‘t understand this country succeeds because people work hard not because others take credit for work they didn’t do.

    Let’s face it. The Occupier-in-Chief is a 60s radical. A Marxist. A Community Organizer by trade. Alinsky style. What the heck does he know about America? Absolutely nothing.

    All his life the Zero has had things handed to him on a silver platter. That‘s precisely why he doesn’t value anything. He’s never had to work for anything in his whole miserable existence.

    He’s the entitled spoiled brat that everyone knows about. The kind of parasite who thinks someone owes him a living. Who walked into the White House and and under the spell of his delusion of grandeur thought it was his right to return a bust of Churchill even though it didn’t belong to him. It belonged to the American people.

    That’s the scope of his audacity.

    The man is trampling on America every chance he gets. Just like his terrorist buddy Bill Ayers trampled on the American flag.

    The fact that the ingrate is living in the White House is a huge stain on America because he is not worthy, by any stretch of the imagination, to be the leader of the free world. He’s the oppressor of the free world. The worst President in recent U.S. History, right up there with Carter and Clinton, who is aiming to make us his slaves. He understands only tyranny through big bloated government, and his aim is to implement it.

    Let’s move on, and blot him out!

    Barry isn’t bringing the country up ,he’s tearing it apart ,and we should’nt waste time on him ,everyone knows what and who he is ,we know the closest he came to running a business was to stand in front and picket it ,we know we don’t want him ,there is very little point listening to what he says ,cause you have to wonder is he telling the truth or is he lying ,it is time to say bye to barry and crew

    Individuals create their fame and fortune as individuals. Almost always they share eventually to get their point across, and it steam rolls from there, doesn’t it?
    Except in a hand-in-my-pocket socialist President. The more I hear coming from his mouth the more appropriate the Capital One Commerical, A Hand In My Pocket, jingle describes his existence.

      True regarding the Rockefeller type Republican. But no matter who institutes price controls the same dismal results always apply.

      Wrong regarding our free market economy. Prior to about 1890 we had a real free market economy. It has been downhill since. But free markets still explains most any successful business story you read about today, anywhere in the world.

      As to price controls, I remember those — lived thru them. When they came off, inflation sucked the life out of the economy.

      We would do well w/free markets and smart, minimal regulations. The heavier the gov’t hand, the less well off we all are.

    Comrades once again GB has it correct! This is just some more smoke and mirrors from Dear Leader. So what is his other hand doing?
    Dispatching another carrier group to patrol off the shores of Iran while stopping them from selling their oil. This is very similar to what his hero FDR did in 1940 when he embargoed oil to Japan forcing the Japanese into doing their risky attack on Pearl Harbor and forcing our entry into WW2.
    Oh we will probably win, but what will be left of our fleet? Especially the carriers? In small waters small missile carrying boats have a distinct advantage over a big ocean navy!
    With one stroke America’s naval might is destroyed or seriously damaged, helping him to turn us into a third world country.

      MaybE, you are the one whose logic is flawed… In narrow waters our carriers ARE at risk… The iranians have nuke attack subs.”. And their own planes, and missiles, with more bases. Even if they ascribe squadrons, they can out launch the 3 catapults on a carrier and only ONE torpedo or missile or crashing plane needs to hit a ship that doesn’t have maneuvering room and give an Islamist state a Huge propaganda victory.

      Oh, and sorry, but just because some successful businessmen historically inhibited competition doesn’t mean there is not or was not a free market… When government control gets too total, there is a final ultimate free market, too: the black market.

      Stop pretending you don’t know the truth about what BS0 is doing; it will not help you when he achieves his goals!
