Hey MIA WI Senators, Want to Get Paid? Just Pick Up Your Check at the Office…

Day Eight of the Wisconsin Protests brings yet another plot twist. The official Committee on Senate Organization authorized a rule change that will force the 14 Democrats who have been hiding out across state lines in Illinois to show up for work if they expect to get paid. As reported in the Green Bay Press Gazette:
Wisconsin state senators who miss two or more session days will no longer get paid through direct deposit. They’ll have to pick up their checks in person on the Senate floor during a session.
The new rule is aimed at forcing the return of 14 Senate Democrats who have been hiding in Illinois since Thursday. They fled the state to stall a vote on an anti-union bill, and have threatened to stay away until Republican Gov. Scott Walker agrees to compromise.
Tuesday’s vote was along party lines. The three Republicans on the Committee on Senate Organization voted for it and the two Democrats opposed it.
Miss two days of “work,” no more direct deposit. The new rule applies to paychecks, per diem payments, and expense reimbursements.

Posted on February 23, 2011 at 2:17amLove the idea, the creativity, but the unions can afford to pay them a lot more than we the people. Now, is the state of Wis. going to prosecute them for taking “payoffs” from the unions? Thats what it is to take money given you for performing a “service”. We need criminal charges against a lot of politicians starting with the POTUS for treason. Try to get prosecutions though when more than half of the country is living off of the government dole or a member of a union.

Posted on February 23, 2011 at 1:37amFrom what I understand, the 20 member rule for a quorum only applies to budget issues. So the Republicans should pass every non budget issue they ever wanted. I’ll bet if they planned on voting to ban abortion in Wisconsin, the 14 childish un-democratic Democrats would return!

From what I have heard they can go ahead and vote on this in their State Assembly (their House of Representatives) but have to have one Dem present in their Senate. Go for it….ADD PRO LIFE….PRO GUN…amendments to the Bill. See if they want to ‘come to the table and discuss that” !!!

They could have done that and made all this whining for nothing…time to bust those public unions NOW! Stop being nice and do what works.

Posted on February 23, 2011 at 1:29amWisconsin needs to group all of the Dems in hiding on one special election recall ticket and fire their asses. The special recall election needs to be held within the next few weeks. Replace them temporarily with precinct leaders until the next election. Let them feel what it’s like to be without a job. The doctors who were in the crowd writing fake excuses for the protesters need to be identified and have their licenses revoked. Then Governor Brown needs to pull a “Reagan” on all of the protesters and fire their asses. There are a lot of good teachers who will come in from out of state and gladly replace them.

Report Post »saviorammo
Posted on February 23, 2011 at 1:41amNot so sure about that. If they have committed a crime, and they may have, a warrant by a judge for their arrest can be issued. Then, if charges are filed, immediate removal might be able to take place. Gov then appoints a temp until a new election can be held. I recommend crimes agains children or somewhere in that realm. If you dig you might even find they are in to child porn. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit.
And Absolutley, cancel all credit cards and issue invoices for all the monies they spent on their little jaunt.
Or the people say the hell with that and take matters, as they should, into their own hands.

Posted on February 23, 2011 at 11:21amHere in Idaho we did have a congressman recalled by the people by petition. So I know that is one way to get someone out of office.
Secondly, yes they are committing a crime, be it a civil or criminal, their holding up the law. Therefor breaking the law! It may not be written as a crime but it‘s common sense that since they arn’t following the laws of the state, their breaking the law!!!
I still think that this is a good start (with the paychecks) but the people should start signing petitions to either remove them from office or what ever the case may be!
